Reginald Ferguson [00:00:38]:
I just don't make promises. No. That's not true. I promise you will be fly.
Tiff [00:00:42]:

Tiff [00:00:49]:
before we do -- Yes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:00:50]:
--
Tiff [00:00:50]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:01:21]:
Absolutely. Let's do some reps. 1 suit, 2 suit, 3 suit, 4.
Tiff [00:01:26]:
Push ups in a three piece suit. Do it now.
Reginald Ferguson [00:01:30]:
people think I go to the gym with a suit on. People think I go to bed with a suit on and
Tiff [00:01:33]:
wear a
Reginald Ferguson [00:01:34]:
suit on.
Tiff [00:01:35]:
You don't?
Reginald Ferguson [00:01:35]:
I don't kiss and tell.
Tiff [00:01:37]:
I bet you have one of those pajamas sets that's, like, top and bottom, and you probably have the matching robe and the matching slippers. or coordinating, I should say.
Reginald Ferguson [00:01:48]:
Coordinating.
Tiff [00:01:49]:
And it's it's absolutely made of silk. Top to bottom or linen. silk or linen. That's what I think. Mhmm.
Reginald Ferguson [00:01:57]:
You got me thinking about, another I must have it item for another day.
Tiff [00:02:00]:
I appreciate that. Keep it. Keep Yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:02]:
I know. I know. No. I I don't know.
Tiff [00:02:03]:
We we gotta keep these little gemstones.
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:05]:
Mhmm.
Tiff [00:02:06]:
I'm Tiffany Minatell Schreiber. I used to design costumes, back in the day, many, many years of that, loved it. the my my most favorite part was actually building the costumes. And, that's my take on fashion because all the costumes that I I would build were were most of the time historical. So they were based on the fashions back in the day. So I bring that to to the, Fashion Geeks podcast, which, you know, I suggested that we start to help to help out with the Fashion Geeks brand. This is sort of augments the Instagram account, the website, getting you out there to people, getting you, you know, people to style and consult and help them be their flyest self ever.
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:54]:
I appreciate that.
Tiff [00:02:54]:
That that's, that's what that's what we're doing here -- Yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:57]:
--
Tiff [00:02:57]:
with this podcast.
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:58]:
Absolutely.
Tiff [00:02:58]:
And just talking about fashion and making it, accessible to the everyday man. You know, these things that, like, what is that, or what do you do with that, or how do I wear this, or what? We're here to answer those questions. So if you ever have a question listening to our podcast, if something comes up, email us.
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:15]:

Tiff [00:03:31]:
Not at all. By the way, you dress all the time. No. Not at all. I don't think I've ever seen you have a not fly moment.
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:39]:
You would be correct. That's a --
Tiff [00:03:43]:
Don't be shy.
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:44]:
No. No. No. No. No. No. No. I know how that came off, but, no, it's just it's just an issue of fact because I always say this is not this is not unique or special to me. This came down through biology. My mom was fly. My grandparents would fly. So it is impossible to come out the house or be in the house and not be flying.
Tiff [00:04:06]:
Because it's important to you. You make it important you your self style is, number 1. You take the time to do it, and you really you make an impression.
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:16]:
Thank you. But to be candid, Tiff, I don't take a lot of time.
Tiff [00:04:20]:
Oh, it just kinda happens?
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:21]:
Yeah. And big shout out to my to my boy who I saw this morning, one day, I'm gonna get him on the show. Gotta talk to Tiffany about it. my boy, one of the founders of Brooklyn Denham Co, Kenny Abiog, Nice. He would be
Tiff [00:04:35]:
a great guest.
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:36]:
Yes. Yes. I agree. We talked about it this morning. We bumped into each other. Literally. He came around the corner. I was coming in, like, We didn't hurt each other. It was like, woah.
Tiff [00:04:44]:
That's a fashion geek moment. Moment. That's one of those universes universal the universe is bringing people together for a reason.
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:53]:
I may actually maybe with your assistance, I may go check them out after because now I feel guilty because I haven't been in Williamsburg in a long time. I told him that we want him to be a guest. Gotta talk to our producer search to just see how all that works out. Not really trying to do a spoiler alert, but we're gonna add a wrinkle to show.
Tiff [00:05:09]:
I think,
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:10]:
I think so.
Tiff [00:05:11]:
Stepping up our game.
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:12]:
Yeah. You have to.
Tiff [00:05:13]:
I like it.
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:14]:
Yo. This is this is the fashion word. Yeah. Yeah. Look over your shoulder. That's true.
Tiff [00:05:19]:
And it it's going it's the fashion world is just so fast and so fly
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:24]:
--
Tiff [00:05:24]:
It's moving quickly.
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:25]:
--
Tiff [00:05:25]:
sense of the word.
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:26]:
Why don't we talk about right now? Why don't we talk about Michael Kors and what he's doing?
Tiff [00:05:32]:
Oh my god. So I read about this, and I I can understand both sides of it, to be honest.
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:39]:
1st, Jimmy Choo. He picked up Jimmy Choo, like, what, less than a year ago.
Tiff [00:05:45]:
And now he's totally giving it all to
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:48]:
-- No. Now he acquired Versace.
Tiff [00:05:50]:
He's a that's right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:51]:
Yeah. He is essentially trying to become the American equivalent of LVMH. LVMH. Yeah. Louis Vuitton, Moet Hennessy. Okay. Arnold. So he's trying to become the American version of that.
Tiff [00:06:08]:
Wow. I
Reginald Ferguson [00:06:09]:
mean, this is Empire Building.
Tiff [00:06:10]:
And Versace, lovers are not happy.
Reginald Ferguson [00:06:13]:
I'm here to tell you we're gonna do it another day. Anytime I hear the name Michael Kors, you hear that? You hear that?
Tiff [00:06:22]:
I hear it.
Reginald Ferguson [00:06:23]:
I don't like.
Tiff [00:06:26]:
Let's keep it nice and fluffy. Nice and fluffy. Speaking of light, nice and fluffy or not fluffy.
Reginald Ferguson [00:06:35]:
Michael.
Tiff [00:06:36]:
But, oh, so feel so good that mohair suit, that date that reads, mohair suit. What's the update? What's the update?
Reginald Ferguson [00:06:44]:
The update is. Well, okay. I'm gonna take a step back. So if listeners know either new or old, I've been working with a with Reeves, bespoke, down in Manhattan, down at Union Square. David Reeves is truly the only savile road tailor in New York City. I mean, he's, essentially, he's embodying that style for New Yorkers.
Tiff [00:07:10]:
Which is a very nice English club together, tight style.
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:13]:
Smoothy smooth. Matamatta sample sale because that's what I do. Those are fun. Yeah. So there's more hair suit and a forest green. had a forest green summer suit back in the day. So I thought this would be a great representation. 3 pieceer with a lapel waistcoat
Tiff [00:07:35]:
Very nice. And it looked very good on you. Just needed some minor alterations.
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:39]:
-- TLC. Yeah. And we were working on that
Tiff [00:07:42]:
because it's a sample sale. So David David Reed's bespoke, normally starts with your measurements and -- Top to bottom.
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:49]:
--
Tiff [00:07:49]:
dress patterns
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:51]:
for it. A true bespoke means, right, is the stink unique pattern --
Tiff [00:07:55]:
Yep.
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:56]:
-- based on you from your dimensions from the ground up.
Tiff [00:07:58]:
Which we talked about
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:59]:
in a in
Tiff [00:08:00]:
a prior, episode. go back to that and if you wanna hear more about it. Right. but, okay. So you met with his tailor?
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:08]:
Yes. This would this would now be the 3rd, the 3rd fitting.
Tiff [00:08:12]:
Okay. because
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:12]:
we had 2 with
Tiff [00:08:13]:
Because David Reeves gets it right. He doesn't wanna let any suit go out. That isn't right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:18]:
Of course. Of course. I mean
Tiff [00:08:19]:
He stands behind his work.
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:21]:
Absolutely. No. He he he wants he wants every garment to be at the highest level possible.
Tiff [00:08:27]:
Exactly.
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:28]:
And each individual to his credit to model that optimally.
Tiff [00:08:34]:
And I I like that a lot.
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:35]:
Yeah. No. I respect that. So we went for the the 3rd and final with his Taylor, Amazon, big shot. A very nice man. Maybe I got a phone call.
Tiff [00:08:46]:
Oh, no.
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:49]:
It's not meant to be. We ran out of runway, ladies and gentlemen. There was not enough fabric. to do what we needed to do to come out a 100%.
Tiff [00:09:03]:
Dang.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:04]:
So close.
Tiff [00:09:05]:
And you look so sharp, and you know what we do have, though?
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:08]:
What's that?
Tiff [00:09:08]:
We have photos.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:10]:
Yes. We do.
Tiff [00:09:11]:
We have photos.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:12]:
Yes. We do.
Tiff [00:09:12]:
So it will live on?
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:14]:
It will live on in our memory.
Tiff [00:09:17]:
Yes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:17]:
But as David and I discussed, it wasn't meant to be for this time. And that's fine. There's no beef. I love the guy. I think he knows that. Give him the brother hug, which I know he's not used to that coming from 1. But,
Tiff [00:09:31]:
big shout out. -- seen that.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:32]:
Big shout out to David Reeves. Reeves was spoke because he also we're gonna bring him on this show.
Tiff [00:09:39]:
Yay. because
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:40]:
really, really wanna learn.
Tiff [00:09:41]:
Yes. Love guests.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:42]:
Yeah. Really wanna learn from him and Just have everyone understand what he does. And
Tiff [00:09:47]:
I probably won't speak in that episode because, you know, the angle I bring, the fabric, the, the form, the fit, and all that.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:53]:
I'm not I'm
Tiff [00:09:54]:
not telling you. He's got it over me.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:55]:
Oh, yeah.
Tiff [00:09:56]:
Well -- -- road tailor?
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:57]:
I mean -- Absolutely. --
Tiff [00:09:58]:
please, Taylor ring was not my forte. And, I love talking tailoring shop with him. So
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:04]:
-- David, I'm coming back for a sample sale next year.
Tiff [00:10:07]:
Yeah. I've already said. probably have another sale. No.
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:09]:
You're gonna see me at the San Jose. Oh, no.
Tiff [00:10:14]:
Not a kid.
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:14]:
I can't afford you, David. brand ambassadorship, David.
Tiff [00:10:17]:
Right?
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:18]:
Let's keep it real.
Tiff [00:10:19]:
Let's do it. Or we can get sponsorships for our show, you know, grow the show. maybe get you a suit from the sponsorship.
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:26]:
Oh, yeah.
Tiff [00:10:27]:
Can we talk about that?
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:29]:
Fingers crossed. Alright. Always working.
Tiff [00:10:32]:
Alright. Now I think it's time to to to dive right into, my favorite segment, because when you told me, I had no idea who you were talking about.
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:42]:
Good.
Tiff [00:10:42]:
And let me tell you, I started researching. I literally sat on that computer for 2 hours reading anything and everything and looking at every image I could possibly get.
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:51]:
Oh, excellent.
Tiff [00:10:52]:
Of our fashion hero of today.
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:00]:
Fashion fashion. So, Reg,
Tiff [00:11:05]:
who is our fashion hero of today?
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:08]:
Our fashion hero of today is Dapper Dan.
Tiff [00:11:12]:
Dapper
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:12]:
Dan. Wait. Wait. Ladies and gentlemen, Our producer search just dropped something. His eyebrows raised, and the can shook on his head. Handsmen and headphones.
Tiff [00:11:27]:
So when you said this to me, I'm like, Dapper Dan. No. It's a saying. He's a Dapper Dan. you see a guy who looks nice dressed on the street, you know, he's a real dapper dan.
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:35]:
Yes. But that's not who we're talking about. That was also a basketball tournament for decades back in the day, the --
Tiff [00:11:41]:
Oh, was it?
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:42]:
Yes. Invitational. That's not this dep or damn.
Tiff [00:11:45]:
Oh, okay. So this that saying didn't come from gentleman, although it should have.
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:50]:
No. No. No. It's a old school it's a old school, naming and phrasing.
Tiff [00:11:54]:
Okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:55]:
But --
Tiff [00:11:55]:
But he's certainly lee he go ahead, Rich. Tell us. Who is Dapper Dan?
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:01]:
I'm gonna break it down for both of y'all and all the hundreds of y'all out there in podcast land. When I was a little kid growing up in the West Village with my mom, and then later on in the Bronx with my grandparents, There was a spot on a 125th Street somewhere, if I recall correctly, because it's it's kind of faint for me. if I was walking, I'd definitely narrow it down.
Tiff [00:12:23]:
I know it's I
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:24]:
know it's building. No. It's building number 43.
Tiff [00:12:27]:
Okay. That much. 125 and x? No. No. No. No. No.
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:30]:
No. No. It was more off a 5th. That spot was mysterious.
Tiff [00:12:37]:
Oh, yes. Between Madison and 5th. That's where his shop was. Go ahead.
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:42]:
I never went in. It was totally inaccessible to me. Why? Because I was not allowed to go. I just and also, I was always, like, in transit, you know, traveling and --
Tiff [00:12:55]:
Got it. Okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:57]:
I was a child. Okay. I was not grown. It was open in the morning. it was open at night. 24
Tiff [00:13:05]:
seconds.
Reginald Ferguson [00:13:05]:
I heard it was a club, a bar. And, really, it was probably a little bit of all those things. Most importantly, it was a clothing store. A clothing store like no other.
Tiff [00:13:18]:
It was a clothing store that was open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Reginald Ferguson [00:13:23]:
It was Dapper Dan's. He is our fashion hero. From a young kid's perspective and now a grown man's, Dapper Dan is the embodiment of street hustle. And even as I'm saying it right now, I'm really getting goosebumps, particularly when I get to the end of the story because you can hear it. It means so much to me what's happening to him. and he doesn't know me from a hole in the wall. And maybe I hope he hears this. He's an American success story. First of all, he's from Harlem. Up to now. His first, his first foray into the fashion game was in a wholesale. So let me let me just say that
Tiff [00:14:07]:
one more time. This is first. -- interesting little trembar trembal over there.
Reginald Ferguson [00:14:11]:
Because this I mean, like I said, growing up, I'm walking past a place that I'm not allowed to go in. Don't know what's really going on. Seeing people in front. Not seeing people in front. What's going on? Help. Don't go in there. Don't look at it. keep on going.
Tiff [00:14:24]:
And all you wanna do is know what the
Reginald Ferguson [00:14:27]:
is it? I just wanted to know. Yeah. I just wanted to know. But his first foray into the fashion game was in wholesale. K.
Tiff [00:14:34]:
The
Reginald Ferguson [00:14:34]:
man kept him down. And I mean that sincerely.
Tiff [00:14:38]:
Yep.
Reginald Ferguson [00:14:39]:
Wouldn't allow him to succeed. He then goes into manufacturing. He teaches himself how to sew. and make an outfit from scratch.
Tiff [00:14:52]:
Yes. And?
Reginald Ferguson [00:14:54]:
He opens his store, this mysterious store in the eighties. Right.
Tiff [00:14:59]:
But he did something else that was remarkable too. Going back to leather and screen printing leather, he he created a brand new process of screen printing leather.
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:09]:
Mhmm.
Tiff [00:15:09]:
Which it which I think is still in use today.
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:13]:
Yeah. No. I mean --
Tiff [00:15:14]:
I mean, that's huge.
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:15]:
Yeah. No. I'm not disputing it. That's why I'm like, I'm literally gesturing you.
Tiff [00:15:17]:
Oh,
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:18]:
okay. like, you know, jump in because
Tiff [00:15:19]:
I don't wanna interrupt because you you wanna flow.
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:21]:
So No. No. No. No. It was absolutely fun. I mean, this is what
Tiff [00:15:23]:
this is about. We'll talk more about
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:24]:
this stuff. the fashion Geeks and into fashion Geeks.
Tiff [00:15:26]:
Yep. So And he had to do that because just like you said, people wouldn't work with him. No. because as a wholesaler, he couldn't get fabrics. He couldn't he couldn't get people to sell him stuff because of where he where he was operating in Harlem and the color of his skin.
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:40]:
Absolutely.
Tiff [00:15:41]:
And because of those two things, he he decided to do it on his own.
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:45]:
Absolutely. I mean, one great example, I vaguely remember this. So and heard about it. He was getting furs from Fred to Ferrier. That was a big for any old school New Yorker. That was a remember those TV commercials back in the day when you little kid? So allegedly, he was He had a competitor. I don't know this brand. So, well, I remember the name. It was AJ Lester, but allegedly Fred the Furier was sending up Fers. but, like, slashing the label off. They were working some deal, but, again, I was a little kid. So, I mean, what do I know about this?
Tiff [00:16:17]:
Alright.
Reginald Ferguson [00:16:18]:
But he opens the store in the eighties because that's my recollection. Right? At the same time, an art form is grown from the pavement of the city. It starts in the Bronx, and it's present to other boroughs. with Manhattan and Harlem being easy distribution centers. It's wrap. Dappadan is taking Gucci, Lily, Fendi, MCM, and Nike. talked about Nike before with Jordan. Right. He's taking those designs, patterns, and logos, and
Tiff [00:16:50]:
he's reinventing the
Reginald Ferguson [00:16:55]:
patterns and reimagining the whole get up with leather and fur. Leather and fur. Making them fly as hell.
Tiff [00:17:04]:
And he was using those logos, counterfeiting those logos with that screen printing process that he invented.
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:12]:
I don't believe that. According to me and my best friend, Dale Walker, he was using the stuff and recreating it. I know about that.
Tiff [00:17:23]:
Well, Sonya Sotomayor put him away. Well, made him stop his business because of it.
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:30]:
I know about the Sonya Sotomayor angle. I already know about that.
Tiff [00:17:34]:
But but the, listen, this is, very interesting. He was doing this for many, many, many, many years. Yeah. Selling putting together these absolute insane fashions and styling ll cool j?
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:48]:
Yes.
Tiff [00:17:49]:
salt and pepper?
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:50]:
Yes. Mike Tyson.
Tiff [00:17:52]:
Well, that's what I was getting to. And he was doing this all using these counterfeit logos and everything -- No.
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:59]:
--
Tiff [00:17:59]:
for the longest
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:00]:
time -- -- counterfeit. --
Tiff [00:18:01]:
for the longest time until that fight that Mike Tyson had.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:05]:
Yeah. But, you know, let's talk about I know --
Tiff [00:18:08]:
And my husband remembers that. Right?
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:10]:
-- literally was there. Well, your husband's from New York. I'm from New York. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Fine. Yeah. Mitch, blood, green, Tyson in the front, blah blah blah blah blah. Okay. Fine. but I still wanna talk a little bit more about how dope he was doing this stuff. First of all, me and my best friend, Dal Walker, all we wanted was a Deppetan jacket.
Tiff [00:18:33]:
Oh my.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:34]:
That's all we wanted. That was I. That was our I must have it.
Tiff [00:18:39]:
And I can understand that. So unique. All these jackets I looked at. Oh my god. I was like, they're brilliant.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:44]:
But there is no way we were getting them. No feasible way.
Tiff [00:18:50]:
Why? They were affordable.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:51]:
No. They were not. No? No. They were not. You do not understand. You just rattled off a bunch of names.
Tiff [00:18:57]:
Yes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:58]:
Okay? All those people in the words around DMC will get in 6 gs for 20 minutes. Like, are you kidding me? Like, well, what can a kid in school What what do you mean? Like, there was no even if there was a layaway plan, we still would have been paying off of it. Like, are you kidding me? Like, no. No. It was not within reach and that was okay. That's what it is when you're a kid, you see stuff and you go, wow. Woah. It could have been Jordan's like we talked about previous episodes. Also, that was about the safety of my life. In a way, also in a way, dapper dance was like that too. Do not go near the wind. Keep on going. because, obviously, now as an adult, I understand it was an atelier. Did not understand that as a kid, because like I said, was it a bar? Was it a club? And, really, it was all those things. I wasn't being a store. You did not go in. That was grown folks' business. Keep going, but let's talk about other people you didn't mention. and I know search is gonna perk up. Eric B in Rockham?
Tiff [00:19:58]:
Yep.
Reginald Ferguson [00:19:59]:
Paid in full. Dapper Dan. follow the leader, Dapadam. Bobby Brown's Gucci Sue, Dapadam. Big Daddy K, my hero that we've talked about before? Boom. Dapper Dan. It takes 2 Rob Basin DJ Easyrock, the track suits, Japadam. Louis and Gucci car interiors. That's my reference when I tees about that in earlier episodes. Now search gets it. I'm I'm giving props to Dap it in.
Tiff [00:20:33]:
Well, yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:20:34]:
-- remember seeing that the Gucci Jeep wheel cover. Dapper I mean, you're seeing this as a kid in Manhattan in the Bronx, you're seeing this from people. I didn't know who they were. Could they have been rappers? Absolutely. let's also talk about who they were. Alpo. Boom. Search has perked up. TIFF is blank. paid in full the movie. Okay? These were notorious peep they were they were right. There were great rap stars. I mean, I remember the LO Koetje thing. Absolutely. And the error being rocked in. I mean, I've got that t shirt. I've, I mean, I've got the t shirt for both albums, and I have both those albums. old school. I got the vinyl.
Tiff [00:21:19]:
You got the vinyl.
Reginald Ferguson [00:21:20]:
Absolutely. But we're just talking about people that are either heroes or anti heroes. And it's just it's just not accessible. But the thing -- For you
Tiff [00:21:32]:
as a child. Right. Right. Right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:21:35]:
But it was awe inspiring. I mean, it's what me and my best friend, I have to constantly just give him a shout at my best friend, Dal Walker, wherever you are. It's what we wanted. We we because it was amazing. It was cool. I mean, how much did we know now? I'm talking from an adult perspective now. Bottom line, He was the king of the logo. Dapper Dan changed the game. but you already hinted at it. Unfortunately -- Can
Tiff [00:22:03]:
I say it? Can I say it?
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:03]:
Yeah. Yeah. It should be.
Tiff [00:22:04]:
Well, you know, everything you wanted back in the day? You can now get it.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:09]:
no. I -- -- legitimately. no. I can't. And slow your role. Slow your role. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. because I'm not there yet. I thought you're doing something else.
Tiff [00:22:18]:
Okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:19]:
You hinted at this earlier. This is another thing, and, no, I still can't. Unfortunately, the masses of the game were not pleased.
Tiff [00:22:26]:
No. They were not.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:27]:
Harlem Geddle Superstars, rocking, Madison Avenue in a futuristic way. because I understand Dapper Danblas for the people, the people of Harlem. He's making money off their brands while understanding the strength of the brand in a bold way. It's time to shut him down. So you in search immediately talk about Tyson and and Mitch. I remember that. I remember, like it was yesterday. I remember that I don't believe the hyped, jacket. I remember all of that. And, yes, no, that didn't help, but the brands came down hard.
Tiff [00:23:03]:
Well, that that fight put them on the news.
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:06]:
Yeah. And put them on blast. And then and then and
Tiff [00:23:09]:
then once once the word got out to the designer logo brands who he was using, they were definitely not happy.
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:17]:
Yes. Yes. And and you're right. now Justice Sonia, From the BX, went to Spellman, she actually, at the time, she was an attorney for Fendi.
Tiff [00:23:29]:
Yep.
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:30]:
And, but Dapper Dan will always tell you of all the people who came down. She was the smoothest, the nicest said, so a big daddy coat legend has it, some leather full joint leather leather fur, and said this guy belongs downtown. That's what the legend says.
Tiff [00:23:52]:
And I believe that based on everything I saw.
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:54]:
But the bottom line is for me, amongst everyone in this room, I never heard a dapper Dan again.
Tiff [00:24:01]:
Well, they put him out of business.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:02]:
Right. No. Poof.
Tiff [00:24:03]:
But he didn't stop doing. Poof.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:06]:
Hold on.
Tiff [00:24:08]:
I'm like, oh, yeah. Yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:09]:
I know. I might have to wait. Hold on now. I'm sorry. I have to do this because I'm the only native New Yorker in this thing. So --
Tiff [00:24:14]:
That's true.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:16]:
25 years later. Gucci Jax won a Dapper Dan's creations. That was a Louis V fur jacket with the leather sleeves.
Tiff [00:24:26]:
Balloon sleeve.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:27]:
Yeah. Yeah. The Diane Dixon.
Tiff [00:24:29]:
Yep.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:29]:
Alright.
Tiff [00:24:30]:
Which was an incredible creation.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:32]:
but let the irony sink in y'all. These brands hated him. They hated us. They wouldn't sell to us. And now a brand jacks another brand from a black man, only in America. But something else happens. And I think that's where you're about to now burst off the seams, and I'm gonna let you have it.
Tiff [00:24:53]:
Well, no. You can
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:54]:
go ahead. No. No. No. No. No. Go ahead. Gucci collaboros with Dapper Dan.
Tiff [00:24:58]:
Yes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:59]:
Way to go, Tiff. Is that what you wanna talk about?
Tiff [00:25:01]:
Yes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:02]:
Go.
Tiff [00:25:03]:
Well, this guy's getting his due finally.
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:06]:
Under statement.
Tiff [00:25:07]:
All the work that he did, all the design, and he had some unique creative designs, most of all of the big hip hop names wore his design. Yes. And it -- The Gucci, the Louis Capps? Yeah. It
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:21]:
--
Tiff [00:25:21]:
The tams. -- created whole different
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:23]:
--
Tiff [00:25:23]:
Just ice? -- different type of fashion style, completely different fashion style, completely unique, completely creative, albeit with counterfeit logos.
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:34]:
No. No. So but what's -- -- counterfeit was real.
Tiff [00:25:37]:
But what's so great is Gucci in a recent fashion release, you know, capsule release.
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:45]:
-- CEO. The
Tiff [00:25:46]:
they released a jacket that looked Exactly. Almost like that balloon sleeve jacket.
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:51]:
-- was a Louis.
Tiff [00:25:53]:
Which was a Louis Vuitton logo with the balloon sleeves fur, fur down the front, fur fur with
Reginald Ferguson [00:26:00]:
-- The Diane Dixon? Yeah. The Olympics.
Tiff [00:26:03]:
What but except they used the Gucci, the interlocking
Reginald Ferguson [00:26:06]:
gs -- Right. --
Tiff [00:26:08]:
on the balloon sleeves and all the trim. They changed it a little bit, but it still looks exactly like And they said when they got called out for it, you know, that looks a lot like, Dapper Dan's jacket. they said, well, we were did in paying homage to him, and we're hoping that we can do a collaboration with him in the future.
Reginald Ferguson [00:26:27]:
And they have.
Tiff [00:26:28]:
And now they have.
Reginald Ferguson [00:26:29]:
He I'm not saying he's back because I know he never left, but he disappeared from my consciousness. He is back with another Atelier.
Tiff [00:26:40]:
Yeah. They released a capsule, a cruise capsule. So this is interesting we could talk about for fashion. So you've got, you know, you've got your fashion week in the fall for the fall collection. You got your fashion week for the spring collection and the summer and the winter. So what's a cruise capsule? What is that?
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:01]:
It's for people who can do whatever the hell they want. This is what you need to understand. He is he is on Lennox Avenue in a Brownstone. 3 or 4 stories. And his clientele that's why when, ladies and gentlemen, when my fellow fashion geek number 2 goes, Rich, now you can. No. I can't. No. I can't because let me
Tiff [00:27:27]:
tell -- -- you cannot.
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:28]:
Let me tell you the clientele. the VIP room for Jiga and Beyonce, Rick Ross. I am just merely -- -- wore
Tiff [00:27:40]:
a dress, a Dapper Dan dress
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:43]:
--
Tiff [00:27:43]:
Yes. -- to the
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:43]:
2018
Tiff [00:27:45]:
course. She sure did.
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:47]:
I mean, the point is I couldn't then, and I can't now. And that's okay.
Tiff [00:27:53]:
But you what you can do as a grown man You
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:55]:
stand in front of the place.
Tiff [00:27:56]:
You can go in. You can
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:57]:
take a photo.
Tiff [00:27:58]:
You can go in.
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:59]:
You have to it's by appointment.
Tiff [00:28:00]:
Oh, we'll call them
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:01]:
up. I said, no.
Tiff [00:28:02]:
Let's call them up.
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:03]:
Well, I, obviously, I think what we
Tiff [00:28:06]:
are real. -- Daniel. Right?
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:08]:
Yeah. No. It's Stafford Dan.
Tiff [00:28:10]:
Hi. Hi, Daniel.
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:11]:
You'll have to talk to his son.
Tiff [00:28:13]:
Oh, that's right. His son is his brand manager.
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:15]:
Yes, Mister Deb.
Tiff [00:28:16]:
Which is great. I'd love to hearing that. Keep it in
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:18]:
the family. I mean, he It's just an amazing story. I wanna do, a little tie in. I'm a big rap guy, and that that has come out through my through the fashion heroes and through things we're talking about, literally, on this episode and other episodes. I was fortunate enough to see Eric B and Rock M during the summer for the paid in full tour. The first dates were in New York, and I caught, I think, the last date or the next or the first. I can't remember. I caught the good date because I heard some of the dates were but they were just they were just getting it going. The point the point is this, and that, they're just were different. I was at the Center Nixon, concert date. That's my point. So not that that was, but I heard it was very significant, but I was not that date. yo yo opened And there were so many guest stars. I'd have to look at my text because I was firing my way to people who did not, who did not wanna take my offer, and, they missed it. They blew it. So, anyway, at that concert, what you need to understand is that Eric B And Rock M have the 2nd generation of Dapper Dan through the Calabrio with Gucci,
Tiff [00:29:35]:
and I
Reginald Ferguson [00:29:35]:
took photos of it. And, actually, if you look at my insta, I actually gave credit to photos that I lifted off the web because I'm not that dude.
Tiff [00:29:44]:
Okay. Good.
Reginald Ferguson [00:29:44]:
I put credit on it.
Tiff [00:29:45]:
Good. Good.
Reginald Ferguson [00:29:45]:
I think it was they was from the photographer from Brooklyn Vegan. big shout out to see that and to understand how this was happening again. But now in the most legit way possible, solidifies what everyone still in this climate has to understand about African American contributions to this country. into the canon of fashion and history. Understand that we take and we innovate even when we're shut down, even when we're frowned upon.
Tiff [00:30:18]:
Yes. That's what impressed me most about him is that he, you know, he didn't He didn't take no for an answer. He's he was self taught. I love that. Self taught about he and whatever he did, He oh, you gonna tell me I can't do it? Yeah. I can do it, and he did it. And, I've I love that about him. Did you know that he was also when he first started his fashion brand, his fashion work, he became vegetarian. He stopped drinking. smoking and stopped doing drugs, toe total clean life. And I was like, vegetarian, and yet he's known for his work in leather and first. So I was like, I can't I I was a vegetarian for a while, but I still like to wear my leather shoes and my leather coat, and I couldn't really you know, rectify that dichotomy in myself. But, I I here's another fellow human being who, you know, feels the same way, you know, He understands the fashion importance of leather and furst, but yet he's a vegetarian. So there was that's an interesting That's an interesting takeaway I had about this man. not not to mention his his past. Everything he's done. He toured Africa for 6 years.
Reginald Ferguson [00:31:32]:
Which probably influenced the use of patterns, I believe.
Tiff [00:31:36]:
Yeah. Well, I think that probably -- putting different things together that most designers would go. That doesn't go. That pattern doesn't go with that pattern. screw it. Let's just put it together and see what it looks like, and it looks great. You know, plaids with checks, you know, that that's I love that. That's that's daring. That's daring fashion. And he absolutely everything I saw was daring. He himself. Oh, he is definitely dapper. Very handsome man.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:05]:
That's Dapper Dan. My fashion hero.
Tiff [00:32:08]:
That was a big segment.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:10]:
It was worth it.
Tiff [00:32:11]:
Alright. So So then let's bring in the I must have it item.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:21]:
I must have it. Habit. Habit. Habit. Yeah. Let's get right down to it. I stumped Tiffany again, she didn't know anything I was talking about.
Tiff [00:32:31]:
Once again, the I must have it item is an item that reg thinks the everyday man must have.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:36]:
Yes. Including
Tiff [00:32:37]:
myself. -- reason or another, which he's gonna explain. So what is our I must have it item of today, which I had no idea what you were talking
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:46]:
A ring jacket, a ring suit.
Tiff [00:32:48]:
A ring jacket, ring jacket suit.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:52]:
Yes. I
Tiff [00:32:52]:
was like, Yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:53]:
I'm a suit guy.
Tiff [00:32:54]:
Is it a jacket with rings on
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:56]:
it?
Tiff [00:32:57]:
Ring suit. No. No.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:59]:
Oh, bad.
Tiff [00:33:00]:
No. So once again, the Google had to go to the Google. And wow. Wow. That was right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:33:07]:
I
Tiff [00:33:07]:
actually wrote that down in the script. Wow. Alright. Take it away. Talk to me about it. What is it?
Reginald Ferguson [00:33:14]:
Ring is a Japanese brand. It's been around for, like, 60 years. It's a made to measure fit, but for ready to wear.
Tiff [00:33:21]:
So explain that to me. I was reading that. It's made to measure and ready. How can that how can that both exist?
Reginald Ferguson [00:33:27]:
I can't talk about it to the depth of the salespeople and the designers I'd ring, but essentially, we all know that For example, when you're my client, maybe you're a sample size, but probably it's not likely that you are. and maybe you have odd dimensions. And what I have to do, which is a challenge, but also a joy, is figure out the best way to fit you, to suit you, whether it's literally a suit or casual items, I have to know your dimensions. When you do a consultation, I email you You get a a fit sheet, you fill everything out. And depending who you are, either you're gonna be ready to rare, or are we ready to wear like I am, straight off the rack, so to speak, or maybe you're more of a custom person. And, you know, we we figure that out, you know, versus looking at yourself and understand your experience, interviewing you a little bit, but also the numbers just don't lie.
Tiff [00:34:27]:
Okay. I have a question. Yes. So we're talking about this, and we talked about bespoke in another prior episode.
Reginald Ferguson [00:34:32]:
Yes.
Tiff [00:34:33]:
And also at the beginning of this episode.
Reginald Ferguson [00:34:34]:
Yes.
Tiff [00:34:35]:
So what is the difference between bespoke and made made to what do you
Reginald Ferguson [00:34:41]:
-- Well, made to measure the patterns of preset.
Tiff [00:34:45]:
So they pick a pattern that's closest to your body size. And
Reginald Ferguson [00:34:48]:
then they -- -- maybe tweak.
Tiff [00:34:49]:
And then the the the customization is done in the tailoring after the fact.
Reginald Ferguson [00:34:55]:
Spoke literally means starting from scratch. I mean, even down to, you know, whatever detailing you want. Maybe maybe you want four button holes, 2 working, not working. So --
Tiff [00:35:08]:
This is interesting. Can I just say about this ring ring jacket suit. Mhmm. They have working button holes
Reginald Ferguson [00:35:15]:
-- Yes. They do. --
Tiff [00:35:16]:
on on the cut. I I was I was floored.
Reginald Ferguson [00:35:19]:
Yes. They do.
Tiff [00:35:20]:
Are you rarely see that?
Reginald Ferguson [00:35:22]:
Right. I got turned on to ring last year through the armory, big shout out to the armory. And I tried one on, and I went.
Tiff [00:35:35]:
Do you have one?
Reginald Ferguson [00:35:36]:
No. I should have I should have bought it. and I didn't, and I'm kinda kicking myself, but I'm coming back to you, armory.
Tiff [00:35:46]:
Because, Just like the troubadour bag in our prior episode, this is an investment. This suit is an investment.
Reginald Ferguson [00:35:52]:
Well, suits are an investment. I don't care what your price point is. anything you're purchasing through me is an investment. We're not trying to have you buy something that all of a sudden fades in less than a year. That's a no no. That's a no no for me as the creator of this business. So it has to be also a no no for the client. So we wanna have stuff that lasts to me at least 10 years. I think it's extremely important.
Tiff [00:36:18]:
And that's nice if you can get a suit that can last you that long. And, you know, suits do they're not everyday wear for most everyday guys. so
Reginald Ferguson [00:36:26]:
That's why you need the rotation.
Tiff [00:36:28]:
That's why you need the rotation.
Reginald Ferguson [00:36:29]:
To mitigate against use, wear, and tear. So
Tiff [00:36:33]:
then you can make that suit last a lot long
Reginald Ferguson [00:36:35]:
2 week rotation gentlemen. That's a free nugget.
Tiff [00:36:37]:
So let's talk specifically about this brand. So it's a Japanese menswear brand. but it's considered an Italian American styling.
Reginald Ferguson [00:36:49]:
Well, they started. They started really appropriating, I think it's the accurate word, more of an American IV prep. And then they transition. I don't know when. into more, like, classic Italian neapolitan.
Tiff [00:37:05]:
They like that neapolitan style.
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:08]:
Yeah. And I do too. slim that helps me. That's good for
Tiff [00:37:12]:
my team. Not too tight. Is it always double breasted?
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:14]:
No. No. No. They have singles and doubles. I mean, I tried on a I tried on I think I tried on both.
Tiff [00:37:19]:
Okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:20]:
So in their fabrics and leaves, strictly from them, strictly Japanese, strictly indigenous,
Tiff [00:37:26]:
And and the the the craftsmanship is also Japanese.
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:30]:
Yes.
Tiff [00:37:31]:
So that you know that it is on point and it is The details are fine. Everything is
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:38]:
-- It's precise.
Tiff [00:37:39]:
The the salvages are clean. The seams are perfect. the, the cut? Oh, can we just talk about this cut?
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:49]:
Oh, it was smooth.
Tiff [00:37:50]:
Let's talk about that La Pail Ridge. So they're known for
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:53]:
the specific -- -- wide, slightly wide.
Tiff [00:37:56]:
Slightly wide lapel with a peak, a peak Was it called a peak?
Reginald Ferguson [00:38:00]:
Yeah. peak.
Tiff [00:38:00]:
Yeah. At the top. And jaded pockets. Let's talk about what are jaded pockets.
Reginald Ferguson [00:38:05]:
Break it down. wardrobe lady.
Tiff [00:38:07]:
Well, I jaded pockets are pockets that aren't straight across. They are at an angle. Yes. So they kinda sort of bring the eye in to create a slimming. It it it's the whole effect of the pockets with the buttons. Everything just sort of brings the eye in and down to give that slimming effect. So these suits probably would make anybody look slimmer than they are.
Reginald Ferguson [00:38:31]:
Sure. Sure. I'd like to focus on. I'm sure maybe you did something with your research. That balloon wool.
Tiff [00:38:39]:
I was reading about
Reginald Ferguson [00:38:40]:
Yeah, man. That's the one I had on.
Tiff [00:38:44]:
It's a it's called a it's called balloon fabric.
Reginald Ferguson [00:38:47]:
Yeah.
Tiff [00:38:47]:
and it's woven from a high twist, 100% wool. and it's they say it's as comfortable as Jersey. So we know what Jersey is. Right?
Reginald Ferguson [00:38:56]:
Yes.
Tiff [00:38:57]:
But due to its natural stretch, it retains its shape while also being a exceptionally durable and wrinkle resistant. This is from the website, just so everybody knows where I'm reading it from. And, we all you guys everybody knows anybody who has suit, having something that's wrinkle resistant is so important because a lot of times you're wearing suits, you're in meetings. You're sitting down. Yeah. And you're traveling.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:20]:
I just have a travel job. And then
Tiff [00:39:22]:
you gotta you gotta pack up your suit. And I know my husband packs up all of his suits, and then he has this little handheld steamer. He's got a fit in his suitcase somewhere.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:30]:
Gotta have the steamer.
Tiff [00:39:31]:
Gotta have the steamer.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:32]:
A steamer every day.
Tiff [00:39:33]:
But if he had -- If he had a ring jacket suit, he might not need the steamer.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:37]:
Might not. Maybe just a shower.
Tiff [00:39:40]:
Yeah. So I I thought that was interesting. The, like, the the, the, the balloon fabric. So
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:46]:
When you're my client, we're gonna get 1.
Tiff [00:39:49]:
because you can live vicariously through your client. I'm
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:51]:
gonna get 1 too, though. No rush.
Tiff [00:39:53]:
I think you should.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:54]:
No. I am. I I came close last year. It will happen again.
Tiff [00:39:57]:
can we also talk about the trousers in this suit? They're always cuffed. Flat front and cuffed.
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:03]:
Like flat front. You know, flat front. That's what's happening now. You know, but bleach are cool too. Nothing wrong with pleats.
Tiff [00:40:09]:
I'm a fan at the flat front. I think -- I
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:11]:
like both. --
Tiff [00:40:12]:
I think pleats. Well, I guess depending on what guy you're looking at, pleats could
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:15]:
-- Exactly. --
Tiff [00:40:16]:
pleats could, you know, even up the top. You have a little fullness in the bottom.
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:20]:
That's that's a different story for a different today.
Tiff [00:40:23]:
So, yes, I love this suit. It's beautiful. the price point is, a little up there.
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:29]:
That's fine.
Tiff [00:40:30]:
It's, you know, $1600 to
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:33]:
$22100. Yeah. I 3 gs. Yeah.
Tiff [00:40:35]:
No. Yeah. But what do we say? It's an investment. And, I'm looking right now. it's, is there any kind of as far as guarantee on the suit when you purchase it, meaning that you have to like it or else?
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:50]:
Buy it where it rocket.
Tiff [00:40:52]:
Alright. You heard it right there.
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:57]:
Alright. Fashion word of the day. Fashion Where?
Tiff [00:41:10]:
Oh, we're moving right along. We couldn't even put a little button on and that was the the ring jacket suit.
Reginald Ferguson [00:41:16]:
Not messing around here. Fashion word of the day, What we like to do is TIFF and I challenge each other with our words, and then you spell it, define it, use it in a sentence. Yes. Alright.
Tiff [00:41:28]:
I'm ready.
Reginald Ferguson [00:41:29]:
I'm ready.
Tiff [00:41:30]:
Like, a little game show.
Reginald Ferguson [00:41:31]:
You ready? Yeah.
Tiff [00:41:32]:
I want you to give me my word first because I'm still looking at my words for you.
Reginald Ferguson [00:41:35]:
Not a problem. Mine's right off the dome. Thread count
Tiff [00:41:40]:
I love the thread count. The thread count is very important, not just in sheets, because every I guess most people know about thread count. She thread count. It's the number of threads used in your weave and your waft of your fabric.
Reginald Ferguson [00:41:53]:
Correct. Do I dispel those 2 words?
Tiff [00:41:59]:
sure. Thread count. and is it a compound word, or is it 2 separate words.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:04]:
Yeah. I said those 2 words.
Tiff [00:42:06]:
Alright. Thread, t h r e a d, count, c o u n t
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:11]:
--
Tiff [00:42:11]:
Count. -- thread count. 1 thread.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:17]:
Alright. Usually using the sentence. Okay.
Tiff [00:42:21]:
Alright. So when picking out fabric, for my suiting, I always like to feel the hand of the thread count.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:33]:
Oh my god. That just sounded decadent.
Tiff [00:42:36]:
Luscious. So I did good. Right?
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:41]:
You did well.
Tiff [00:42:41]:
Okay. I did very well. you're ready?
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:45]:
Sure.
Tiff [00:42:46]:
So this is a easy one again.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:49]:
Kravate.
Tiff [00:42:50]:
Kravate.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:52]:
c r a v a t e.
Tiff [00:42:54]:
That is car oh.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:56]:
Oh, drop the e. Drop the e.
Tiff [00:42:58]:
Oh my gosh. It's a cravat, not a cravate.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:00]:
Yeah. Okay.
Tiff [00:43:01]:
Alright. Sorry. Very good, Rich. Great. What is a cravat?
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:05]:
It is a tie.
Tiff [00:43:08]:
It's a knot. Keep going.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:11]:
It's a tie knot.
Tiff [00:43:13]:
But it's not really a tie. No.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:14]:
It's not a tie. It's It's how you not, like, for example, a scarf, a piece of fabric.
Tiff [00:43:22]:
Or -- Oh, so close. I'm gonna give it to you.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:24]:
No. No. No. Don't give it to me, ma'am. I'm gonna give it to you. I mean,
Tiff [00:43:27]:
my -- So specifically, from the dictionary, Pravat is a short wide strip of fabric worn by men around the neck, just like a tie. Yeah. And tucked inside an open neck shirt. So it is a tie around the neck, a neck tie, technically, because it's worn around the neck and tied. But, what's different from a necktie, the shirt is open. and it's inside the shirt.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:51]:
Understood.
Tiff [00:43:52]:
And it's very flamboyant. It's a -- There
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:54]:
you go.
Tiff [00:43:55]:
And what made me pick this word was Dapper Dan designed a flower cravat. It literally had flowers. Woah. Yes. And I saw it in one of the images, and I was like, what is that? It was beautiful. It was beautiful. It was creative. It was flashy. It was awesome. And I have to say, you know, I I I come from a historical costuming background, Krawetz, just I love the tie is so put together tight and everything, but give me a man wearing a cravat, Nice. Nice. Nice. So use it in the sentence?
Reginald Ferguson [00:44:37]:
Well, if Tiffany sees Dapperdene in a cravat, she's gonna lose her mind.
Tiff [00:44:44]:
Well job. Well job. Yes. I will. I'd like to meet the man.
