Tiff [00:01:19]:
That's right. Our podcast is kinda fun, and sometimes we do go off, you know, the whole fashion thing. But because that just sort of brings in that everything is fashionable. Everything has something to do with fashion.
Reginald Ferguson [00:01:29]:
There's a relation. There's a link.
Tiff [00:01:30]:
Whether we're talking about, you know, this or that or the other thing, everything is about what you wear sometimes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:01:37]:
It is about the impression you make on other people in terms of an aesthetic Oh, yeah. In terms of a perception.
Tiff [00:01:43]:
How you fine tune what I Say, let
Speaker C [00:01:45]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:01:51]:
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
Tiff [00:01:53]:
And that's what that's what you do. That's kind of what you do when you are helping, the everyday man look his best Yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:01:59]:
You wanna distill it. You wanna you wanna be efficient. And, Tiff, on that on that tip, just wanna say, love the cowl neck rocking it.
Tiff [00:02:07]:
Thank you. I would
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:08]:
Coronation with the frames, classic Ray Bans.
Tiff [00:02:11]:
Yes. I am wearing my classic Ray Bans today. And, And, they also I had the tortoise shell, but they have the green
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:20]:
Oh, did not see that.
Tiff [00:02:21]:
Yes. You don't see those unless I show it to you.
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:25]:
Coordinate, Marcus. Coordinate.
Tiff [00:02:27]:
Very nice. Very nice. So here we are, another episode. And, sort of getting back from the holidays is kind of a slow a dart, and,
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:36]:
Still working out the food.
Tiff [00:02:38]:
Oh my god. It's not the food. It was, like, the sea and everybody. It was the
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:43]:
And pop. So sociable.
Tiff [00:02:44]:
It's it's not being at home. I I think my cats miss me, to be honest. I know I miss my
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:50]:
All 10 of them.
Tiff [00:02:51]:
I miss my bed. I don't have 10 cats.
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:53]:
All 5 of them.
Speaker C [00:02:54]:
I don't
Tiff [00:02:55]:
have 5 cats. Stop putting that stuff out there.
Reginald Ferguson [00:02:57]:
More than 1 catfish.
Tiff [00:02:58]:
Silly. And pop. But anyway, I miss them and they miss me. And so it's been nice to be at home. It's been very nice. But you haven't been at home. Impop. You apparently
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:07]:
I have been home.
Tiff [00:03:08]:
You you
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:09]:
Totally local.
Tiff [00:03:09]:
You you're doing your you're doing your thing, your work thing, but you also went to an exhibit because I'm doing my work thing, and I have no life anymore because I'm now doing my work thing.
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:19]:
Yes. We were supposed to go to this exhibit together. Was the pink exhibit.
Tiff [00:03:24]:
And that's right up my alley. It's pink.
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:27]:
I know. I told you in November.
Tiff [00:03:29]:
I know. But who knew I'd get a job? I didn't try.
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:33]:
It doesn't mean that you couldn't do both. Well But it literally was drawing to a close. I went the day before it shuttered.
Tiff [00:03:43]:
Yeah. Well, that was
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:44]:
at FIT.
Tiff [00:03:44]:
I started working right before the holidays, and my evenings were all built up.
Reginald Ferguson [00:03:48]:
No. That's okay. They're open on weekends. Uh-huh. Anyway, yes, I went. The this is my whole thing, ladies and gentlemen. In the month of January, I'm trying to go to the exhibits that are about to close in February because I do that. I'm that guy.
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:03]:
I'm like, oh, I've got time. Got time. Then you're like, oh my god. I have no time or you go, oh, freak. I forgot.
Tiff [00:04:12]:
Is that a thing? A lot of the museum exhibits end up closing at the end of January, beginning of February kind of thing.
Speaker C [00:04:17]:
Is that
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:18]:
a thing? I'm not certain if it's a thing. It is for this
Tiff [00:04:21]:
Okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:22]:
You know, for this expansion
Tiff [00:04:23]:
closed January 6th.
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:24]:
I know. And I went on 5th.
Tiff [00:04:26]:
Yeah. You did.
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:27]:
So let me finish off.
Tiff [00:04:28]:
Clear, it was it's the pink exhibit at the museum at FIT. And I missed it, but I was able to go online. And you can actually click a little button there, and you can see the exhibit online. Yes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:40]:
Okay. Then then then
Tiff [00:04:42]:
I had a virtual visit.
Reginald Ferguson [00:04:43]:
Good. So you had a virtual tour, so we you can talk about this intelligently. What did you think?
Tiff [00:04:47]:
And pop. I thought it was, first of all, an exhibit about pink, the color pink throughout the years and its meaning Centuries. And its centuries and its meaning in society. First of all, it was a what a novel idea. I'd never I would have never thought about that, that kind of a take
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:04]:
I neither.
Tiff [00:05:05]:
On fashion and clothing throughout the years. But, it was absolutely very interesting to from my point of view to see all the different clothing. And, the most interesting Fact to me was that the whole pink was girls, boys was blue thing didn't happen until mid century Nineteen fifties, actually.
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:26]:
And also depends on where you are in the world, to really be honest. If you're talking specifically from American perspective.
Tiff [00:05:32]:
I'm speaking of America. Yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:05:34]:
It was clearly a marketing choice.
Tiff [00:05:36]:
Exactly. Whereas in Europe, in in the I mean, from the beginning of time, men were wearing pink. I I designed costume. One of the costumes I designed, an 18 thirties, jacket, vest Westcut and, trousers, knickers were pink, were a pink fabric with a a ruffle shirt. That well, that was his costume. And pop. And it was beautiful. Men in the time were just as pretty as the women.
Tiff [00:06:02]:
They're like I I said in one of the episodes that everybody looked like cake. And pop. It's like it looked like they were dressed like cake icing. It was, lace and frills and lots of pink. And, in this day and age, you don't see a A lot of the the men wearing pink like you used to. So until recently, I think that's what I didn't realize, but there's a thing called millennial pink. Did you know that?
Reginald Ferguson [00:06:25]:
Yes. Well, I really learned it through the exhibit.
Tiff [00:06:28]:
And it is handed. And it is, like, the designers of today. I'm looking at this picture, but I can't remember who the designer was. All the men and and the women, all, they're wearing pink. Pink tops, pink bottoms. Everybody's wearing pink, and it looks good. It looks fashionable. It doesn't look crazy.
Tiff [00:06:46]:
It looks nice. I like it a lot. I like the pinking a little bit. My most, Is
Reginald Ferguson [00:06:53]:
that a word?
Tiff [00:06:53]:
The big wow moment was there was this ostrich leather jacket, pink.
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:01]:
Leather jacket?
Tiff [00:07:02]:
Like, a full length leather coat worn in Africa, but
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:06]:
I Yes. That that my post.
Tiff [00:07:08]:
Impop. A tribe leader.
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:09]:
I posted that. Wait. Not a tribe leader.
Tiff [00:07:11]:
Wasn't he a tribe?
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:12]:
No. No. No. No. It was a fashion designer's take.
Tiff [00:07:16]:
Okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:17]:
Yeah. I posted that because
Tiff [00:07:19]:
Pink ostrich skin. Oh my god.
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:21]:
Right. It was a full but there was a full ostrich
Tiff [00:07:25]:
skin. Uh-uh. Mid thigh length, I think it was. And, yes, you're right. It was faux ostrich.
Reginald Ferguson [00:07:30]:
Yeah. The point is, ladies and gentlemen, if you check out my Insta, which is New York fashion geek, I did probably 3 to 4 post in a row From that exhibit. And I specifically, based on who I am and how I see the world, did it from an African American perspective. We had other people. Big shout out to Man Your Style. He had a few post, and obviously, there's a whole hashtag, for the exhibit. But I wanted to just really highlight, a few things, from that individual. I mean, there was the late Joe Cassily, from England.
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:07]:
I just wanted to show that linkage for me and the importance for me, and also Let people be aware. And we recently had a guest on another episode, Harlem Will Roberson, And I know he really he really appreciated this, and it seems like our producer searched it too. Just gave the big thumbs up. I think he was enamored with our host. The point is Thank you. The point is we try. The point is I loved I loved seeing a hoodie with Cam'ron In his notorious Pink Mink cam. I hope you listen to the app.
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:44]:
I really do. When he did the costume when he did the costume gala, in 2002.
Tiff [00:08:52]:
The Met Gala.
Reginald Ferguson [00:08:53]:
Yeah. The Met Gala. Sorry about that. So, yeah, I I just wanted to show
Tiff [00:08:57]:
toe pink. I just wanna show hood.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:00]:
Oh, yeah. Always fly.
Tiff [00:09:01]:
So that's I was trying to gauge your what do you think about pink? What do you think about pink as a comment on on culture? Certainly. Over the centuries.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:10]:
It's very interesting to hear, specifically from American perspective, that prior to a certain epic of time, Boys and girls wore either color interchangeably. And then all of a sudden, unsurprisingly, it became a marketing thing. Here's the distinction. Then you look across the world with
Tiff [00:09:31]:
that there. Era of madmen, shall we say. The great advertising error.
Reginald Ferguson [00:09:37]:
Sure. Sure. And then you look throughout the world, it doesn't have that importance per se, but every society makes the choice. They make the call and then everyone follows it. So specifically from a individual and from a family perspective, I wore pink shirts. I still do. I wore pink ties. I still do.
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:03]:
Certainly, I can vaguely remember around junior high school going into high school, maybe being someone ambivalent, but definitely doing it. And the reason why is because my late grandfather did it. Mhmm. So one of my one of my fashion heroes. So but clearly, when you're growing up From an American standpoint, you're you're drawing that line and saying that pink is for girls and blue is for boys. I mean, there there's no question about
Tiff [00:10:30]:
And even beyond that, the movie Pretty in Pink. I'm a strawberry blonde. I'm getting more darker as I get older. But when I was younger, I was more red. You know? And I was Always told I couldn't wear pink. And then Pretty in Pink just blew that out of the water because Molly Ringwald was as red headed as you can get, and she was wearing pink. And I have to say, that opened up pink for me. I didn't love that movie.
Tiff [00:10:54]:
I didn't wear pink prior to that.
Reginald Ferguson [00:10:55]:
Great song, and they played that song love that song at at, FIT, at the museum.
Tiff [00:11:02]:
Oh, did they really? Yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:02]:
I love the psychedelic footage.
Tiff [00:11:04]:
Oh, okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:04]:
Great group.
Tiff [00:11:05]:
So that must have been in, in they had an exhibit that was sort of based on that time period or something.
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:11]:
How it was is that it was a a small room and then you went into a bigger room. And in the bigger room, they had speakers towards the front of the exhibit, And they had a loop of music, and
Tiff [00:11:21]:
that was one that has to do with paint products.
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:23]:
And that was one of the songs.
Tiff [00:11:24]:
Oh, okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:25]:
So and I was I was like, yeah.
Tiff [00:11:27]:
Yeah. Well, that was my
Reginald Ferguson [00:11:28]:
last I thought of the movie, but for me, it was always a song in that group because I like I like the first.
Tiff [00:11:34]:
I wish I had more pink in my in my wardrobe. I have to say that, you know, that Molly Ringwald thing brought me out. Oh, pink. And then I went to my college, Sweet Briar College, whose colors are pink and green, the preppy colors. And I Impop. Sort of went into, an anti Sweet Briar stage where I'm not gonna wear pink and green. I'm not preppy. That's not who I am.
Tiff [00:11:58]:
So I banished all pink and green from my wardrobe.
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:01]:
My sisters from AKA as alpha would really be upset about
Tiff [00:12:04]:
Yeah. But then I then they found me again. And this I mean, I am now part of the alumni club here in New York City for school at college,
Speaker C [00:12:17]:
And pop. And I absolutely rock my pink and green as often as I can Aw.
Tiff [00:12:18]:
Because I'm a proud sister.
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:20]:
Do you have a little flower in your hair too?
Tiff [00:12:23]:
No. No flowers, but I do wear my pearls. My pink and green and my pearls.
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:29]:
I also liked in the exhibit how pink can be represented as a rebel color, which I never thought of.
Tiff [00:12:36]:
Yeah. That that dark deep, dark, dark pink, that hot Pink that
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:41]:
Punk rock.
Tiff [00:12:42]:
Punk pink that
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:43]:
Even, you know, Larry Kramer, Silence Equals Death. I never viewed it that way, How it could be so rebellious. I'm always thinking of conjuring images of femininity.
Tiff [00:12:55]:
The p hat. And pop. Can I say
Reginald Ferguson [00:12:57]:
the word? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Why don't can can you can you take the lead there? Because I I wanna defer to you on
Tiff [00:13:02]:
that topic. Can I say it? The pussy hat? Yeah. I can say the pussy hat.
Reginald Ferguson [00:13:06]:
I guess you do.
Tiff [00:13:06]:
Sure can.
Reginald Ferguson [00:13:07]:
Yeah. I hope that you know
Tiff [00:13:09]:
My goddess leader would love that I'm actually saying the p word. Yeah. The pussy hat was that hot, hot pink, and it was a pattern that was put out during the, the big movement that all these women got to crocheting and making. And actually, I have to say, my mother-in-law made me a pink pussy hat for my march, because I did mark did 2 marches with them. And it's It was at first, as as you will see in the exhibit, the the Washington Post columnist said, back away from the pink. Yes. You're going to minimize this series cause because you are, you know, attaching it to this color. But these, this In pop Pink color has proven itself to be powerful.
Tiff [00:13:56]:
So I would I would have to respectfully say that I'm glad we didn't back away. That I think we took over something that was it's sort of attributed to females as being Impa. Feminine and weak and whatever, and it turned it into something that's strong and powerful in a voice. And it has to do with the color. It has to do with pussy hats. It has to do with the women. All of that altogether. So That's what I gotta say about that.
Reginald Ferguson [00:14:23]:
I'm glad I went. I'm sorry you didn't.
Tiff [00:14:25]:
I am sorry I didn't, but I got to do it online, which is very cool that you could actually do a virtual tour. I'm Glad they made that available. So go to the Museum at FIT online and, and click the virtual tour, and you can see some fabulous pieces of of garments. Some things were blowing my mind. There's a Givenchy dress that I was like it was a day dress that was all ruffles, and I was like, oh my god. I love that. Impa. I mean, I have no practical application for that in my life today, but it was beautiful.
Tiff [00:14:54]:
Absolutely beautiful. So check it out, everyone. And pop. And that's our
Reginald Ferguson [00:14:59]:
catching up.
Tiff [00:15:00]:
Oh, yeah. So we should now move into our next segment, which is your
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:05]:
favorite. Yes.
Tiff [00:15:07]:
So our next segment is
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:09]:
Fashion heroes. Fashion. Fashion.
Tiff [00:15:22]:
So our fashion hero today is
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:27]:
Allen Iverson.
Tiff [00:15:29]:
And pop. Yet another athlete, Reg and his athletes, being fashion heroes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:35]:
More importantly though, our producer search is rolling, but I hope he's rolling in the significance of the choice.
Tiff [00:15:45]:
And pop. Once again, I'm
Reginald Ferguson [00:15:46]:
going to school. Hear where I'm gonna lay down? It's it's it's gonna be amazing.
Tiff [00:15:50]:
And once again, I'm gonna be schooled because, like I said, I had to go to the Internet, and do a lot of research because I knew of Allen Iverson as a basketball player because And pop. He kinda sorta got his start at the end of Michael Jordan's career, which is kinda sorta when I kinda stopped watching basketball.
Reginald Ferguson [00:16:07]:
Right. Because of your love of MJ.
Tiff [00:16:09]:
But it's not only that. I had a, you know, I had a job. I had to work in the restaurant business, and so I didn't really you know, these basketball games Imposter on.
Reginald Ferguson [00:16:17]:
I'm like, they're on the screen.
Tiff [00:16:18]:
Right. But I'm serving wings and and beer, and I'm not paying attention. I can't pay attention.
Reginald Ferguson [00:16:23]:
Fine.
Tiff [00:16:24]:
So I would hear the name, but I didn't really get to know the players after the Michael Jordan thing.
Reginald Ferguson [00:16:29]:
Well, you are going to tonight. No. The source of that guffaw from our producer search, it had better have been from love.
Tiff [00:16:39]:
Well, why don't you give us a a little a little bit about why you chose Allen Iverson as a fashion hero?
Reginald Ferguson [00:16:46]:
Absolutely. When I was growing up, there was a guy who took the NBA by storm, and he caused such a ruckus with his style that the lead changed his rules because of him.
Tiff [00:16:59]:
I read that.
Reginald Ferguson [00:16:59]:
That's right. Who is he?
Tiff [00:17:02]:
Allen Iverson.
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:04]:
Come on. You messed me up. I have to come set up.
Tiff [00:17:07]:
Alright. I go rewind.
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:09]:
Who is he? The answer, Allen Ives.
Tiff [00:17:14]:
The answer. I read that. I was like, wow. That's kind of a cool nickname.
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:18]:
Thank you. It's pretty clever, intro I And 2 year, just
Tiff [00:17:22]:
Sir, she'll edit it out, and you'll still
Speaker C [00:17:24]:
be clever. Yeah.
Tiff [00:17:25]:
He'll he'll still be clever. I promise.
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:26]:
I remember when Allen Iverson went to Georgetown. Number 3, Georgetown gray and blue. One tattoo. Simple. I remember when he was drafted number 1, Went to the sixes. Number 3, red, white, and blue, small fro. Simple. Right then, I was smitten, ladies and gentlemen.
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:50]:
That's right.
Speaker C [00:17:50]:
He
Tiff [00:17:50]:
had your hairstyle?
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:52]:
No. I didn't have I wasn't rocking that. I was rocking the fade.
Tiff [00:17:54]:
Oh, okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:17:55]:
I'm in love with AI. No. I I mean, I am. I mean, let's talk on the court. His signature move, the crossover. It was different from the crossovers I had seen and grew up with and did not possess. And it's not a Carrie, Isaiah and Tim Hardaway. Stop hurting.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:15]:
Right there, that was style. I mean, it was actually a fashion statement.
Tiff [00:18:22]:
Really? A fashion statement? It's definitely a style statement.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:25]:
It was a fashion statement.
Tiff [00:18:27]:
Okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:27]:
His crossover was a fashion statement.
Tiff [00:18:29]:
Alright.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:29]:
I will not back down from that. It It announced to the sporting world and the greater world who he was. Okay. It was his signature, and I love the way he crossed up MJ's 1st year in league.
Tiff [00:18:40]:
I saw that picture. That was kind of amazing, the shock on MJ's face. That was pretty funny. Alright. Calm down.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:48]:
By the way, Was his hero
Speaker C [00:18:50]:
Yes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:18:50]:
Who I hated once he started beating my team, the New York Knicks. I remember when my boy told me about it. I ran to the TV. I've also watched that video many, many times on my Allen Iverson YouTube channel.
Tiff [00:19:06]:
You have a Allen Iverson YouTube channel?
Reginald Ferguson [00:19:08]:
That's correct.
Tiff [00:19:10]:
Okay now.
Reginald Ferguson [00:19:10]:
I still relish it.
Tiff [00:19:12]:
You are a fan.
Reginald Ferguson [00:19:13]:
I am. I I really I really am. That was the beginning of seeing a new player with a style all his own on the court. Okay. I thought it was impressive, and he quickly established himself as one of a kind. He was a little man in relativity, 6 feet, Going up against giants, especially in the hole, and thriving, dunking, and dominating. He was a killer. His speed and energy also made him stand out.
Reginald Ferguson [00:19:46]:
To become singular, that style.
Tiff [00:19:51]:
Okay. I'm I'm getting it. I'm getting it.
Reginald Ferguson [00:19:53]:
Well, you should. He embodied the street and hip hop culture into a sport in a league that was not ready for it or him.
Tiff [00:20:01]:
Right. Because the league wanted to be presentable. It wanted to, you know, stay the stay the course.
Reginald Ferguson [00:20:05]:
Right.
Tiff [00:20:06]:
Be the norm.
Reginald Ferguson [00:20:07]:
Status quo.
Tiff [00:20:07]:
Status quo.
Reginald Ferguson [00:20:09]:
1st, His fur goes, which breaks my heart. Then the cornrows come in, and they're serious. Incredible. Then the tats.
Tiff [00:20:22]:
Because they're not just straight back.
Reginald Ferguson [00:20:23]:
No. No. They have designs. Man different.
Tiff [00:20:25]:
Yeah. They had, like, different directions
Speaker C [00:20:26]:
and designs. Yes.
Tiff [00:20:26]:
Yes. Different designs. And designs.
Reginald Ferguson [00:20:29]:
Yes. Yes. Different designs. That's flavor. That's style. Then the tats. I'm not a tack guy. It's not my thing.
Tiff [00:20:38]:
Right. They hurt.
Reginald Ferguson [00:20:39]:
But his but his tack game just explodes. The neck, the arms, legs, chest, shoulders. It's incredible.
Tiff [00:20:49]:
And I do remember hearing some blowback about that in the NBA. They wanted to go, enough With the tattoos. This is enough enough. I remember doing that.
Reginald Ferguson [00:20:58]:
Exactly. I never saw anything like it. From the initial Hoya bulldog proclaiming him the answer, Which I loved. And that's Brandon, y'all. Let's be clear. To Cruthick, his tats had tats. His skin was out of breath. His
Tiff [00:21:17]:
skin? Oh, that's hysterical.
Reginald Ferguson [00:21:21]:
But let's stay on the court. Okay. Tiffany?
Tiff [00:21:25]:
Yes?
Reginald Ferguson [00:21:25]:
Let's talk about the sleeve.
Tiff [00:21:27]:
And pop. On that compression
Reginald Ferguson [00:21:29]:
sleeve. Remember when we talked about Supreme and JR
Tiff [00:21:32]:
Smith? I totally got it when I was
Reginald Ferguson [00:21:34]:
doing webinars. Yeah. That's never discussed as a topic without AI in the conversation. He was the 1st to rock 1.
Tiff [00:21:43]:
Which I thought was, oh, that's pretty interesting. And how can no one have ever thought about that technology before? Because it was out there.
Reginald Ferguson [00:21:51]:
Well, here's the thing. It was all created from him. I understand what you're saying, the ingredients of the technology.
Tiff [00:21:59]:
Right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:00]:
But he had one To protect
Tiff [00:22:04]:
An injury.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:05]:
Exactly. Right. He had a bursa sack on his elbow. That's the reason why this all was created. He felt comfortable with it
Tiff [00:22:11]:
Yep.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:11]:
And then just kept it on throughout.
Tiff [00:22:14]:
And then it became industry wide.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:17]:
Right. But that's the point. And then he has it. Color wise, it's coordinated to rock his jersey.
Tiff [00:22:21]:
Now he wears it as a fashion or or after that, it was
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:24]:
a fashion thing.
Tiff [00:22:26]:
Yes. It was his thing. Right. His statement piece.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:29]:
Exactly. Exactly. The headband, He brings a old school accessory and makes it fly, especially when he does them in stripes. The Under a hat.
Tiff [00:22:43]:
He did it he did it under a hat. A bandana under a hat.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:46]:
Well, that's it's not
Tiff [00:22:47]:
a bandana. We'll just hold on. Ahead? Sorry.
Reginald Ferguson [00:22:49]:
And that's not a bandana. Search, you know what it is. That's right. Bandana. Yes. We'll talk about that, but let's go on. The custom armband, Which reads the answer, number 3, the finger bands.
Tiff [00:23:03]:
The finger bands?
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:04]:
Yes.
Tiff [00:23:05]:
I didn't see them. Were they compression as well?
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:07]:
I don't know, but no one ever had that. Also branded AI or number 3.
Tiff [00:23:15]:
He's all banded up.
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:17]:
People started rocking their sties in the league. Larry Hughes, his teammate, drafted from, Saint Louis, Billiken. LeBron, Who acknowledges AI as his hero. Wow. Tyronn Lue, who he famously stepped over in the 2001 finals against the Lakers.
Tiff [00:23:37]:
He stepped over.
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:38]:
Oh, yes. And that was style. Braids and headbands, y'all. That's what I'm saying. Now let's talk off the court. The bling. Diamond encrusted Rolex.
Tiff [00:23:52]:
Crazy ridiculous, ridiculous.
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:54]:
Platinum jewelry.
Tiff [00:23:55]:
Unbelievable.
Reginald Ferguson [00:23:56]:
Diamonds, chains, The fitted baseball caps, different team sports. Not the bandana, Tiffany, but the durag.
Tiff [00:24:04]:
Durag. I'm sorry.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:06]:
I knew that. You like the bandana.
Tiff [00:24:09]:
I know. I knew it was called that. It's a durag. It's a durag.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:12]:
Throwback jerseys, we'll get back to that. The 4 x sweats. No one was doing that.
Tiff [00:24:19]:
He looked like he was swimming in those things.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:22]:
Well, let well, well He
Tiff [00:24:23]:
looked extra extra extra large.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:25]:
But let us be clear. What? He embodied the era.
Tiff [00:24:29]:
Yes. He did. He he took it to he took it to the extreme And pop. I understand. Was the egg we went through
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:35]:
that ad.
Tiff [00:24:36]:
Want baggy stuff. Right? But
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:37]:
I producer search for baggy stuff.
Tiff [00:24:38]:
He look on
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:39]:
you. He has a
Tiff [00:24:40]:
fat Soup under that sucker with that picture I saw.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:43]:
He was fly.
Tiff [00:24:43]:
And he was not fat. That's the thing.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:45]:
He was fly. No one was doing it. No one was doing that. He doesn't rock suits to his press conferences.
Tiff [00:24:51]:
No. Not ever.
Reginald Ferguson [00:24:52]:
He rocks a mink. Oh. He is hip hop street style. It makes a statement. The youth, they love it. The establishment
Tiff [00:25:03]:
Not too much.
Speaker C [00:25:04]:
Hates
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:04]:
it. Mm-mm. They call him a thug. The parallel between him and Pac is unavoidable. 1 of his boys, coincidentally, was Biggie.
Tiff [00:25:15]:
Oh, wow. I didn't know that.
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:16]:
Yes. Absolutely. He was in he was in the studio for some of those tracks for the Posthumous album, Life After Death. Biggie used to go to certain games to grab his sneakers. Oh. To get to get sneakers. He does a commercial with Jadakiss with a beat by Trackmasters. More on this later.
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:40]:
AI comes out with a rap single.
Tiff [00:25:42]:
No. He doesn't.
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:44]:
Yep. I remember it. I heard it in Philly. I was doing biz in Philly back Then I like
Tiff [00:25:48]:
I like
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:49]:
I liked it.
Tiff [00:25:50]:
Was it good?
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:51]:
I think his name I liked it. I think his name was Jules. Yes.
Speaker C [00:25:56]:
I tell
Reginald Ferguson [00:25:56]:
you, like, his name is the world. Best yes. He was the best NBA rapper because there was a there was a bunch of others. That was a error. I even remember. I think the NBA came out with some album. Oh, those guys are whack. I liked I liked AI Spitting.
Reginald Ferguson [00:26:09]:
The NBA told him not to come out with the album. He complied. Now let's talk about Reebok. AI is the number one pick, as I said earlier. He has his choice of brands to endorse. He's a Nike kid. Right. He Like I like I was growing up.
Reginald Ferguson [00:26:28]:
I also rock Adidas, but
Tiff [00:26:29]:
He played their Jordans.
Reginald Ferguson [00:26:31]:
Exactly. He wore them in high school, Bethel. He wore them in college, g Town. I remember him rocking the spats. He loved Jordan. Again, that was his hero. His agent David Falk is a Nike guy. Another one of David Fox clients, Jordan.
Reginald Ferguson [00:26:47]:
Coach John Thompson is on the board at Nike. Nike gives him an offer. Okay. They lowball him. Oh. Nothing Jordan esque. Reebok Gives him his own shoe, which they had worked on a year prior to him even being drafted.
Tiff [00:27:06]:
Oh, so he had something in the works.
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:08]:
Well, Reebok had something in the works unbeknownst to him.
Tiff [00:27:12]:
Oh, really?
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:12]:
And at the time, gave him a 10 year $60,000,000 deal, which later gets ripped up and becomes a lifetime deal. Oh my gosh. He had his shoe day 1 in the league. I don't remember anyone else doing that.
Tiff [00:27:29]:
A lifetime deal.
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:30]:
That's right. Wow. It's an annuity essentially. And, from the year 55 on, he'll be entitled to it. I don't remember anyone else doing that. Shoe day 1 in the league? Take that, Jordan. Take that. Take that.
Speaker C [00:27:45]:
I'm a
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:45]:
Knicks fan. Reebok with Q Gaskins and Scott Hewitt create The Question.
Tiff [00:27:53]:
Yes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:53]:
Do you remember it? Cool ass shoot.
Tiff [00:27:56]:
I I don't remember it at all.
Reginald Ferguson [00:27:57]:
Oh, I totally remember it.
Tiff [00:27:58]:
That was not when I was doing the Robix thing.
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:00]:
I totally remember. You could have. I totally remember it.
Tiff [00:28:03]:
But It was amazing. Sneaker.
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:05]:
It was amazing. It had the honeycomb, you know, the hexalite.
Tiff [00:28:08]:
Yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:08]:
The color at the toe, the colorway there. Fly. His brand identity with Reebok is established with the I three logo, Iveson 3.
Tiff [00:28:17]:
Oh, okay. Iveson 3. That's right. Stands for?
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:21]:
Well, that's his Jersey number.
Tiff [00:28:22]:
Oh, okay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:24]:
So I think the team at Reebok through Q who had to connect at Georgetown understood that AI was so genuine, so real at a time in which brands were truly afraid of that. And not only did they embrace it, They embodied it. Look at the commercials, which I do on my Allen Iverson YouTube channel.
Tiff [00:28:45]:
I gotta I gotta check that.
Reginald Ferguson [00:28:46]:
Oh, those commercials are amazing. I remember that first one when he's, like, in the lab. I know you guys remember this. His moves are being analyzed. It's so cool. And then I love the one when he starts out at the Rucker, and he keeps on seeing doppelgangers of himself, like, in a car, on the street, at the club. Let's get back to the one with Jada. Hot fire.
Reginald Ferguson [00:29:10]:
Dope rap, trap masters with the sounds of the sneakers in the floor incorporated into the beat. Reebok won it Nas. AI won a kiss. The rest is history. Let's talk about the slam magazine cover. Do you remember it? No. Saw on ice? No. I know you do search.
Reginald Ferguson [00:29:32]:
Oh, good. I got you both. I remember like it was yesterday. I had come home from visiting my grandparents in the Bronx, and I was at a 125th Street at the station at the Lex, checking out the magazines, And I saw it. It was amazing. That's when the league that's when the league was on when the other players were on strike, if you remember.
Tiff [00:29:53]:
I do remember the strike.
Reginald Ferguson [00:29:54]:
It was amazing. AI. We Splendid in a old school Philadelphia 76er Jersey from the sixties championship.
Tiff [00:30:02]:
Wow.
Reginald Ferguson [00:30:03]:
Tiff [00:30:04]:
Totally old school.
Reginald Ferguson [00:30:05]:
Fila, p h I l a, 6667 with the fro.
Tiff [00:30:11]:
Yep. And the chain.
Reginald Ferguson [00:30:12]:
The fro yes. And the chain and the ice. The fro was back. I lost my mind.
Speaker C [00:30:19]:
By By
Reginald Ferguson [00:30:19]:
the way, speaking of throwback jerseys, there was a little Philadelphia company you guys probably heard of called Mitchell and Ness. Mhmm. 1998 revenue, 1,500,000. 2002 revenue. In 2001 is when AI took the sixes, the underman sixes to the finals, also won the MVP. Also, if I call was the MVP of the all star game with the 20 point deficit. 2002 revenue, Mitchell and Ness, 23,000,000. I think mister Iverson might have helped that a little.
Tiff [00:30:49]:
I would say a little bit.
Reginald Ferguson [00:30:51]:
His style was so influential amongst players in the league that the NBA finally put
Speaker C [00:30:57]:
the hammer down.
Reginald Ferguson [00:30:58]:
They bagged I'm sorry. They bagged. I'll Freudian slip. They banned baggy gear, durags, and everything else in 2005.
Tiff [00:31:07]:
Everything that was him.
Reginald Ferguson [00:31:08]:
Exactly. Incredible. End of an era based on 1 person.
Tiff [00:31:13]:
Right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:31:13]:
As I know in the situation involving me, they say, oh, this rule has nothing to do with you that you park soap food co op. No. It has everything it has everything to do with him. Just like your thing has everything to do with me, suckers. His influence remains to this day. Tats all over the place? Regular. Right? Not when he was doing it. Braids, same thing.
Reginald Ferguson [00:31:36]:
The sleeve, same thing. Matter of fact, you can have a sleeve on a sleeve.
Tiff [00:31:41]:
What? And pop. A sleeve on the sleeve?
Reginald Ferguson [00:31:42]:
Well, the tattoo sleeve and then you got the sleeve on the tats. Oh, okay. Players wear anything they want And carving out fashion niches, that's AI.
Tiff [00:31:53]:
Right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:31:54]:
He was the true nexus of sports and entertainment. He is why rappers wanna be ballers and ballers wanna be rappers. You're welcome, HBO. He had the strongest connection to hip hop And one of the strongest connections to fans the world has ever known because he was unfiltered and relatable. He kept it real at a time in which it wasn't truly acceptable. He was unapologetically black in a white run league with predominantly black players. Hear that. Heard.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:25]:
His sneaker sales are his sneaker sales are still strong. The legacy shoe just came out recently. Another generation gloves, Allen Iverson, just like Jordan. Take that, MJ. The better you look, the better you play. Words from a cultural and fashion icon. My hero, Allen Iverson.
Tiff [00:32:51]:
And there we have it. Wow. Drop the mic.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:55]:
Thank you.
Tiff [00:32:56]:
Very nice.
Reginald Ferguson [00:32:57]:
It's real. He is real.
Tiff [00:32:59]:
I understand now. That's why he's your fashion hero. Because he did. He made it he he, like like a bull made some changes, huge changes. And I an article I read is that that rule that was made to try to stop him from his creative expression actually sort of, encouraged fellow players to sort of express themselves. And and and now in this day and age, the way they express themselves are in these bespoke suits, these outrageous the choices in general
Reginald Ferguson [00:33:36]:
Russell Westbrook.
Tiff [00:33:37]:
And and shirts and ties. And pop. And their flare is amazing. It's
Reginald Ferguson [00:33:42]:
All whack. It's
Tiff [00:33:43]:
interesting. Some of them
Reginald Ferguson [00:33:44]:
need my help. Because
Tiff [00:33:45]:
just because
Reginald Ferguson [00:33:46]:
you got money, y'all, doesn't mean you'll fly. Right.
Tiff [00:33:49]:
I And pop.
Reginald Ferguson [00:33:49]:
I think And I see that every all star game, NBA players. And It's ridiculous.
Tiff [00:33:53]:
Allen Iverson called it kinda like Halloween outfits, I think, at one point in one article I read, And pop. Because he's, you know, not a 100% a fan, but he is a fan of everyone embracing their artistic expression and being able to express that and be who they are and what they do. So I find him a champion in in that for sure.
Reginald Ferguson [00:34:14]:
He he's amazing. I mean, he made it clear about suits. It's so funny because when he got drafted, he had a nice suit on. I have that photo. But for him, and I respect that, the way he grew up In Hampton, you know, Newport News Tidewater area is for Sunday.
Tiff [00:34:34]:
Right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:34:34]:
The Sunday best. So I respect that. And he said it wasn't even about him carving out his own thing. It was about looking at the older heads and rocking their steez. But the influence has resonated so strongly, and it's ultimately because he just wanted to be His authentic self, which at that time, as I said earlier, from a marketing perspective, that whole keeping it real, real, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. That was really shaky ground from a marketing perspective. And you really have to get props to Reebok, particularly Q Gaskins, in which Those shoots those shoots, they're not even he's not even reading copy. It's all off the dome.
Reginald Ferguson [00:35:21]:
And I love that one when he constantly sees doppelgangers of himself. I remember that one. I guess, yes. I love playing that one back.
Tiff [00:35:27]:
I have to go watch a YouTube channel. You can send me a share,
Reginald Ferguson [00:35:30]:
Yeah. It's so it's just it's just so cool. Even the one when he's back home, he's shooting pool. When you are Sub 6 in the league, and you are dominating. That that's that that is a statement. And like I said, the crossover was a fashion statement. I mean, one could argue also the dunks, but one of the more charismatic individuals who has become a cultural icon, who has made a ripple in which it's still the effect still hits. And I met him once at 30th Street Station.
Reginald Ferguson [00:36:11]:
I know he doesn't remember this. I really would give anything for for him to listen.
Tiff [00:36:17]:
Your face right now, you look like you're 6 years old.
Reginald Ferguson [00:36:22]:
If you're a little guy playing against big guys, it's something. Yeah. And that's part of the relatability, I think, with the fans.
Tiff [00:36:29]:
And it's so cool to watch. Goliath. David and Goliath.
Reginald Ferguson [00:36:32]:
Right. Exactly. And I just loved I loved his game. I loved his style. I loved the crossover. It was a crossover. Like I said earlier, I never saw that type of
Tiff [00:36:40]:
And apparently, neither did Michael Jordan.
Reginald Ferguson [00:36:43]:
I still love that. That video is so good. And that was his hero. And MJ MJ said to him, if you were my hero, you woulda crossed me up like that. Right. So but and that's what I like too. He was a killer. I used to watch I used to have those NBA.
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:00]:
You know, I'm dating myself, but, like, the NBA, like, show for the week. Right. Not NBA inside stuff. It was like another one. And I just remembered, and I love his voice too. I love I love his tone quality, and he was it was a v l essentially. And he he crossed up Scotty Brooks, Who now is the coach. I think he's, he's still in the league.
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:19]:
He's coaching league, but towards the end of his career as a player, he played for my team. He played for the Knicks. He crosses him up. Scotty Brooks goes backwards, falls. Oh. AI coldly It's a j. The VO goes, I believe I could take anyone in the league. And I just I just sat there.
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:41]:
My jaw just like, I just I love that. I love that. You wanna be no matter what you do, you wanna win, you wanna kill.
Tiff [00:37:49]:
Right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:37:50]:
And I think that's what separates individuals from everyone else, and though he never got a ring. And he But he has many regrets about his career, particularly his relationship with Larry Brown. Larry Brown loved him, and he didn't listen. He acknowledges how hard headed he was, and that's I think that's the other thing about him for me. It's heartbreaking because I love him. Yes. I barely met him, but I just I mean, when you read these interviews with the Reebok executives, I mean, everyone wants the world for him.
Tiff [00:38:20]:
Right.
Reginald Ferguson [00:38:20]:
Listen to Stephen a Smith who was down at Philly local paper at the time, I think, Philadelphia Enquirer. There's a once in a lifetime human being and talent, but
Tiff [00:38:33]:
He was the only one standing in his own way.
Reginald Ferguson [00:38:36]:
Well, it's not even that, but he also paved the way. And I think that's what's so significant. And that's why he is a fashion hero.
Tiff [00:38:43]:
He had many successes on In pop. Several different levels. He may not have won a championship, but he won MVP titles. He won scoring titles. He was great. He's amazing. Player.
Speaker C [00:38:55]:
One of
Reginald Ferguson [00:38:55]:
the best players of that draft.
Tiff [00:38:57]:
And, I think this we should lead right on into our next segment, which is the Impa. I must have it because we already started talking about it.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:06]:
Did we?
Tiff [00:39:07]:
Yes. We did. You are making it red.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:09]:
Well, then let's go. I must have
Speaker C [00:39:14]:
it.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:16]:
I must have it.
Tiff [00:39:21]:
And what is that? I must have it.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:24]:
A pair of Allen Iverson questions.
Tiff [00:39:28]:
Alright, now. 1st generation. 1st generation, which I have a picture of right here. And, Reg, I gotta tell you, Impa. I looked at all of his. He doesn't just have 1st generation, the question. No.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:40]:
He's got a gazillion.
Tiff [00:39:41]:
And I like them all. I am not a
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:45]:
The DMX technology?
Tiff [00:39:46]:
I am not a sneaker person, but I as we all know from prior, podcasts, I am a Reebok. I was always Reebok.
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:54]:
Team Reebok.
Tiff [00:39:55]:
Yeah. And, you know To
Reginald Ferguson [00:39:56]:
have team Reebok.
Tiff [00:39:57]:
And I gotta say, I like them all.
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:01]:
Sounds like you need to cop a beer. I might not get
Tiff [00:40:04]:
me a pen.
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:04]:
Maybe Santa will help a brother
Tiff [00:40:07]:
out next year. Impop. Oh, that would be so nice. Oh. Y'all give him a whole year to find me the perfect pair. But, yes, the I
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:16]:
wear size 11.
Tiff [00:40:18]:
The question came out in 1996. It was all like you said earlier, it was already designed before he had even signed the contract. They They had already designed this shoe shoe for
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:29]:
It is wild.
Tiff [00:40:30]:
Like, they were so confident that he was gonna like that.
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:33]:
Well, they were hopeful. Yeah. They were hopeful.
Tiff [00:40:35]:
I think they were confident because it was done. It was a done deal.
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:39]:
And I love to play on words. He's the answers, the question.
Tiff [00:40:42]:
I do too. And the next one was the answer, and then the next one was, What's the they've I've got all
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:47]:
There was a bunch of answers.
Tiff [00:40:48]:
There's a ton of answers. Answer 14, I think, was the last.
Reginald Ferguson [00:40:51]:
Jadakiss one I think is for the answer 5. I love that commercial. That commercial is just so
Tiff [00:40:57]:
too thick. Oh, that's a nice one. That's definite I have a picture of a And
Reginald Ferguson [00:41:00]:
the commercials where he's showing his moves and detailing the moves and knowing that Kids were trying to mimic the move. And just I just I just always loved that, the analysis of it. The the way they would They would have multi cameras for a 3 60, and they would turn it 1 80. And he's like and then I do this, and then I blow by them. I was like, wow.
Tiff [00:41:23]:
They the question is the best selling of his entire line. Break breaking record sales for Reebok, by the way. Impa. No other shoe sold what the question's on.
Reginald Ferguson [00:41:33]:
Reebok had other ballers. They had Sean Kemp, the rain man, great player. They had Shaq Diesel. Amazing player. Maybe a few others, but the whole issue with Jordan Or Nike rather, pardon me, was that he would have been so low on the totem pole. But more importantly, they lowballed him.
Tiff [00:41:54]:
And they're not gonna let him they're not gonna give him a better deal than they're gonna give I mean, that's not gonna happen.
Reginald Ferguson [00:41:59]:
No. No. But but it wasn't even something comparable. But no. You're right. You're absolutely right. And this is a great moment for Reebok.
Tiff [00:42:05]:
And Reebok design was similar to the Air Jordans that Iverson was wearing.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:09]:
I disagree.
Tiff [00:42:10]:
I read it, and I looked at the pictures. There was some the the cap of the of the toe, the Toe cap. Yeah.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:15]:
But it wasn't a spat. It wasn't it wasn't like the Jordan spat.
Tiff [00:42:18]:
The the cap of the toe. That's what that was kinda similar. And pop. But another fact, Iverson wore the shoe for the duration of his, unforgettable and history making NBA rookie season. This is the shoe he wore. His rookie season, he already had
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:37]:
Yes.
Tiff [00:42:37]:
A shoe.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:38]:
That's all I keep saying. Yes.
Tiff [00:42:39]:
So So there we go.
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:41]:
Yeah. And pop. And Will you get me a pair, please?
Tiff [00:42:44]:
And he would wear them sporadically in his regular season games, his playoff games, his all star games. Impa. He would con you know, constantly go back to the question even though he had, you know, the each year, a new release, which is
Reginald Ferguson [00:42:57]:
And he was constantly tweaking the colorways. Yeah.
Tiff [00:42:59]:
So Impop. But the the the the dynamics of the shoe were that great that he was wearing them in competition, which is amazing to me. And pop. And that is?
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:10]:
I must have them.
Tiff [00:43:11]:
Maybe one day, Reg Sandal will be good to you and bring you
Speaker C [00:43:17]:
the pair.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:19]:
I can dream.
Tiff [00:43:20]:
Alright. Let's move on to the last segment of our show called the fashion word of the day.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:32]:
Fashion word of the day of the day.
Tiff [00:43:38]:
That's kinda different than what I've ever done before.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:40]:
That was nice. It was nice. Yeah. It's a new year.
Tiff [00:43:44]:
Yeah. New year, new changes, new differences, new same stuff.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:49]:
What you got, Tiff?
Tiff [00:43:50]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:43:53]:

Tiff [00:43:56]:
But because you know, I like No.
Reginald Ferguson [00:43:58]:

Speaker C [00:44:00]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:44:00]:

Speaker C [00:44:02]:

Tiff [00:44:19]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:44:20]:

Tiff [00:44:25]:

Tiff [00:44:43]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:44:44]:
Yes. Impac.
Tiff [00:44:45]:
Alright. Lapis is a color. I have no idea what lapis luzuli is. Lapis is a stone, actually.
Reginald Ferguson [00:44:55]:
You're right around there, so you wanna try to do it, or you wanna tap out? What do you wanna do?
Tiff [00:45:00]:
I'm gonna tap out. Tap out for time.
Reginald Ferguson [00:45:03]:

Tiff [00:45:04]:
me that buzzer. Go ahead and give that buzzer. I'm gonna wear it.
Reginald Ferguson [00:45:06]:
You're gonna get it.
Speaker C [00:45:08]:
It's a
Reginald Ferguson [00:45:08]:
deep blue mineral composed mainly of Lazarite used mainly as a gem or as a pigment. I mean, Search kinda gave it
Tiff [00:45:16]:
to me. Okay. But how is it a fashion thing? My fashion
Reginald Ferguson [00:45:20]:
Are you word. What is How is that not a fashion word?
Tiff [00:45:23]:
It's a stone. It's a mineral.
Reginald Ferguson [00:45:25]:
A lapis.
Tiff [00:45:27]:
You could have wearing lapis?
Reginald Ferguson [00:45:29]:
You could no. I am not. But you could have buttons.
Tiff [00:45:33]:
Out of lapis.
Reginald Ferguson [00:45:34]:
Absolutely.
Tiff [00:45:35]:
Wow. I never heard of that, Reg. This is you're playing a whole new game.
Reginald Ferguson [00:45:39]:
It's a new year.
Tiff [00:45:41]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:45:43]:

Tiff [00:45:43]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:45:46]:
When I get a, a customer as a pimp.
Tiff [00:45:50]:
Is that what it is?
Reginald Ferguson [00:45:52]:
No. No. No. I'm just it's a but it's a it's very just it's very distinct.
Tiff [00:45:55]:
You can do my sentence then. You were on your way making a nice sentence.
Reginald Ferguson [00:46:00]:
You want me to do a sentence?
Tiff [00:46:01]:
Yeah. Because
Reginald Ferguson [00:46:02]:
No. I'm the person who gave the word.
Tiff [00:46:04]:
Well, my word I was wrong, so you can do a sentence using I don't know how to use it in a sentence, but it wasn't my word.
Reginald Ferguson [00:46:10]:
If you go if you go to the garment district, it's very easy to pick up some costume jewelry with Lapis Lazuli.
Tiff [00:46:18]:

Tiff [00:46:21]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:46:38]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:46:42]:

Speaker C [00:46:58]:
What is
Tiff [00:46:59]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:47:01]:
Well, I know what gingham is.
Tiff [00:47:02]:
Same thing. Same
Reginald Ferguson [00:47:04]:
thing. So it's it's It's just it's just a pattern.
Tiff [00:47:08]:
Okay. What about the pattern? Can you describe it?
Reginald Ferguson [00:47:10]:
It's square, and it has a Has a edge to it. I mean, a slight jagged edge. I mean, I mean, it's it's a square there's squares. There's a square overlay.
Tiff [00:47:22]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:47:55]:
is fun. Gingham gingham is
Tiff [00:47:57]:

Tiff [00:48:03]:
And pop. As ever,
Reginald Ferguson [00:48:04]:

Reginald Ferguson [00:48:11]:
I have a pink and white gingham shirt. That's my sentence, though my definition was lacking.
Tiff [00:48:16]:
That's quite alright. Yay.
Reginald Ferguson [00:48:19]:
That's the truth.
Tiff [00:48:19]:
You don't get a buzzer because you were there. I threw you with the gingham check.
Reginald Ferguson [00:48:23]:
Yeah. I was like, what?
Tiff [00:48:24]:
I have to say this definition comes from the fashion beans, which is a London based
Reginald Ferguson [00:48:28]:
You know, you you don't have to give away your sauce.
Tiff [00:48:31]:
I like the fashion beans, though. They're very clever sometimes.
Reginald Ferguson [00:48:33]:
I'm sure because you it seems like you're constantly using them.
Tiff [00:48:35]:
And I just gonna give them a shout out because they're funny.
Reginald Ferguson [00:48:38]:
Okay.
