Reginald Ferguson [00:01:10]: No. First of all, when you say that, it makes it sound like you're talking about the big thing. Tiff [00:01:14]: Oh, yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:01:14]: You know? I don't want the little thing. Tiff [00:01:16]: Not you're in the state of New York. I can guarantee you And pop. My husband told me that. Reginald Ferguson [00:01:20]: Oh, how how can he make a guarantee like that? Tiff [00:01:22]: He's the health and safety officer. Reginald Ferguson [00:01:24]: So Someone is Tiff [00:01:26]: He has a inside line on things like that. Reginald Ferguson [00:01:29]: Really? Okay. Tiff [00:01:30]: So we're all healthy in the state of New York. Alright. So far. Reginald Ferguson [00:01:33]: So far. Exactly. Tiff [00:01:35]: Knock on wood. Reginald Ferguson [00:01:35]: Yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:01:51]: Yes. Yes. We're on the tail end of it. By the time the listeners hear it Tiff [00:01:54]: Yep. Reginald Ferguson [00:01:55]: It will, no longer be. But yes. So I'm, I'm trying to, maintain for the culture. Tiff [00:02:01]: Good. Would anything fantastic coming up? Reginald Ferguson [00:02:04]: Absolutely. I've I've lived the dream. I'm working. So I I just had a client last week. Big shout out to Jordan Sisco and Kiara Capel. Tiff [00:02:15]: Nice. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:16]: Yes. Kiara reached out to me on the website. Tiff [00:02:19]: Oh, excellent. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:21]: That Tiff [00:02:21]: makes me so happy. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:23]: Yeah. I as well. And she wanted to do a gift Tiff [00:02:27]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:28]: To her boyfriend who desperately needed a foundational makeover. Tiff [00:02:33]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:35]: So, I helped him with that, and we had a rocking good time. Big shout out to Jordan Sisko, really great guy, And we we made him fly. Tiff [00:02:45]: Nice. Any pictures you're gonna be posting soon about that? Reginald Ferguson [00:02:47]: No. Unfortunately, I had no, photography support. Tiff [00:02:51]: So That's a shame. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:53]: I know. I know. I reached out to a few friends, but everyone was busy. Probably would have been more helpful if I reached out to true photographers, it. I really haven't done that even for myself, much less any aspect of the business. Tiff [00:03:04]: Right. Now did you do a a closet makeover as well? Reginald Ferguson [00:03:07]: Or No. No. No. He eschewed that. He was like, listen. I really don't have anything, and I'm gonna and also he wants to do he he definitely wants to do a purge. And, allegedly, they have bags at the ready, and hopefully, we're gonna coordinate one day and go to the Bowery Mission. Tiff [00:03:24]: Awesome. Always nice to hear that the Bowery Mission is gonna be on the receiving end of some stuff. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:28]: Absolutely. Absolutely. That always really makes me feel good, and then it excites me. But, yes, he he wasn't ready for a closet. He he was just like, it's it doesn't make any sense. Let's just get down to it. Tiff [00:03:38]: That's a good birthday gift. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:40]: It is. It is. Tiff [00:03:41]: That's a good Christmas gift. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:43]: Is this a good gift, Penny? Tiff [00:03:44]: Good gift. It's a good July 4th gift. It's a good Labor Day gift. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:50]: So we really we really laid the foundation for him. Tiff [00:03:53]: Alright. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:53]: I hope it's, Imposs, not the last time, and I received a very complimentary email. Tiff [00:03:59]: Super. So that's great because that might lead to something else might lead to something else. Reginald Ferguson [00:04:04]: Yeah. You never know. You never know. Does. You never know. And, actually, after we do our recordings today, I'm on my way to another appointment. And pop. Tiff [00:04:11]: Wow. Boom. Boom. Boom. Busy. Busy. Busy. Reginald Ferguson [00:04:13]: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Gonna kinda Tiff [00:04:15]: do this thing. Reginald Ferguson [00:04:15]: Yeah. It's another individual and starting from scratch, so to speak. Tiff [00:04:19]: Well, I might And pop I'm I have to say, you look very, very nice and ready to do what you gotta do. May we comment on this And pop. Lovely 3 piece that you're Reginald Ferguson [00:04:29]: wearing. Okay. Tiff [00:04:31]: So, I'm gonna just from my point of view, this is Impac. Stunning. I it's bounce toothed, but it's earth brownish grays and blues. It's a Reginald Ferguson [00:04:41]: it's a gun check plaid. Tiff [00:04:42]: Gun check Impop. Plaid. I love the sound of that. You can wear it with anything. I I and this was a custom made suit for you, wasn't it? Reginald Ferguson [00:04:52]: Yes. Yes. Tiff [00:04:53]: Alright. Absolutely. Reginald Ferguson [00:04:55]: Big shout out, first of all, to my boy, Peter Antoniades of Antoniata's fabric. He hooked me up. Big shout out to P. P, I'm actually wearing it because we were been going back and forth. So when are you gonna wear it? I was like, soon. So we we probably need to take some photos. Tiff [00:05:11]: Oh, we have to. Absolutely. Because it looks great. I've I mean, I'm sitting here going, Michael needs one of those. Reginald Ferguson [00:05:18]: Well, if Michael ever became a client, then maybe maybe this would happen for him. It could happen for you too, Michael, if you're listening. And popping. Tiff [00:05:27]: Well, he's got to stop Reginald Ferguson [00:05:28]: going with it. If Tiffany would it would stop me from letting us consummate this client relationship. Tiff [00:05:35]: Well, Well, he gotta stop going from 36 to 30 eights to forties, back down to 30 eights to 3rd 30 sixes to 40. You know, he's got to find his place, Reginald Ferguson [00:05:43]: And pop. Tiff [00:05:43]: And then we then we can invest in some finer threads because right now, he's like, I bought him 2 new suits a year ago, and he can't wear them. Really? He wore them once. They're both sitting in the closet. Oh. Yeah. That mama's not happy because, you know, That's money on the shelf. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:01]: Oh, I hear you. I hear you. So You wanna you wanna feel that? Wanna feel that fabric? Tiff [00:06:05]: That feels nice. What is it? What is it? What is it? Tell me tell me the statue. Wool. A 100% wool? Reginald Ferguson [00:06:13]: Yes. Of course. It's a 100% wool. Tiff [00:06:15]: Alright. Well, sometimes it's a little No. Imposses. Now, actually, this is this is cashmere. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:20]: No. No. Straight up. Well, this is actually a vintage, piece. Tiff [00:06:24]: That's why I like it so much. You know me in vintage. Impop. That's beaut it's beautiful. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:29]: It's from a former mill that's no longer from the UK. Tiff [00:06:33]: So there's a limited amount of that fabric left. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:36]: Yeah. I guess. I mean, my boy had it, and then he told me the providence. The the name of the mill was Peterson and Becker. Tiff [00:06:45]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:46]: And they got bought 20 years ago by I can't remember the name. LBD? Was it LBD something? Also in the UK. So, yeah, unbeknownst to me, I picked up some, I guess, reasonably vintage material. He had he had a few bolts, and I was like, let me look at it in the light, man. So, Again, big shout out to p and his wife, E, who's a master tailor in her own right. Tiff [00:07:14]: Nice. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:15]: And, I can't afford her. And And pop. And big shout out, and you guys have to email me. Email me a brother. You know, email a brother to another brother. Herringbone and Sway who made this happen down in Mumbai. Mumbai, India. Yep. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:36]: AKA Bombay. Impop. Tiff [00:07:38]: Very nice. You are ready to be a world traveler now. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:41]: Yeah. Sure. Tiff [00:07:42]: You got the threads. I'm I'm I'm down with that. Speaking of? Reginald Ferguson [00:07:46]: Yes. Tiff [00:07:47]: And pop. Traveling and done anything lately? Did you, Reginald Ferguson [00:07:50]: Yeah. I took Tiff [00:07:51]: the train. Right. You know what I mean. I'm here. I spent a whole month Reginald Ferguson [00:07:57]: That's why I said where you've been. Tiff [00:07:58]: New York City. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:59]: But you said sick. So I was like Tiff [00:08:01]: I was grounded. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:02]: Wow. That's gratitude. No pun intended. Tiff [00:08:04]: A whole week in bed. That's for damn sure. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:06]: Oh, wow. Yeah. Tiff [00:08:07]: That was bad. Yeesh. You know me. I I don't do anything less than a 100%. No. I know. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:13]: Well, it's funny you mentioned traveling. I wish, I wish we could license music because right now, I'd have in the background Stevie Wonder's Traveling Man. Tiff [00:08:21]: Oh, yeah? Reginald Ferguson [00:08:22]: Back in the day. Yeah. I love that song. Tiff [00:08:23]: Why? What's up? What's up? Reginald Ferguson [00:08:25]: I'm finally I'm going away. Tiff [00:08:29]: Good. Good. Good. Doing what? Doing what? I'm so excited. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:32]: Well, it's it's really not for vacation, though my mind probably will trick itself into thinking it is. Tiff [00:08:38]: Every trip is a vacation, at least some part of it. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:42]: I have been forced by my crew, nudged, cajoled, just coerced. I'm going to a men's styling influencer conference. Tiff [00:08:54]: And pop. I am so excited for you. You are Reginald Ferguson [00:08:57]: gonna be amongst Tiff [00:08:58]: your people. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:58]: Oh, boy. Yes. Tiff [00:08:59]: I don't know. Talking shop left Reginald Ferguson [00:09:01]: and Tiff [00:09:01]: right every minute of the day. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:04]: And pop Yipes. Yes. It's a it's a 2 day conference. It's Friday Saturday. I'm doing old school like when I had a travel job. I'm taking the 1st flight out of JFK Friday morning at 6 o'clock. Tiff [00:09:17]: Yowzers. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:18]: I'm going down to the ATL, y'all. Tiff [00:09:21]: Atlanta. Yeah. Atlanta. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:23]: The a. Tiff [00:09:24]: That's where my mom was born. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:25]: Oh, I did not know that. Yeah. Tiff [00:09:26]: Right after that. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:27]: To Georgia. I've never been to the a. No? No. I've been to a lot of places in Georgia for work when I was in the cable industry, but I've never been to the ATL. And I'm going to this conference. It's called Menfluential. Tiff [00:09:42]: Check it out online. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:44]: Yes. You can. Tiff [00:09:45]: I did. Choose. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:46]: Oh, I know you oh, boy. Tiff [00:09:47]: From top And pop. The bottom. I scrolled all the way down. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:50]: Of course, you did. Tiff [00:09:51]: It kept going and going and going and going. I'm excited because it just seems like there's, I mean, I mean, you were doing there for 2 days. You're gonna get something out of it. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:03]: So Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No. I'm I'm there to learn. If I get some fellowship out of it, that's a bonus. Networking, I think, is certainly required. Tiff [00:10:12]: Mhmm. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:12]: Big shout out to Robert Ordway. I bumped into him at CTDA recently. Tiff [00:10:17]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:17]: And he was the 2nd person probably in 2 years that brought up that conference. Tiff [00:10:21]: So that tells me that's a sign. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:24]: I guess. So I was like, but then I did some research, and it worked out numbers wise. And everyone was like, you need really to do this. Also, coincidentally, it is the last time they're having this conference. Tiff [00:10:41]: No. Really? Reginald Ferguson [00:10:42]: Yeah. Yeah. Allegedly. So, I think they've had it. I don't know how many years. Really, don't quote me. I think maybe 10 years. Tiff [00:10:48]: I can't remember. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:48]: So end of an era. Tiff [00:10:50]: Awesome. So you're getting in there, though. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:52]: Getting in there. Tiff [00:10:52]: Alright. Super. Well, I'll have to, wait to hear the report on that the next time I see you. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:58]: Absolutely. I will guarantee you this. What? I will be fly. Tiff [00:11:02]: Yes. Of course, you will. You're gonna wear that suit. Oh, that'd be too hot to be in Atlanta. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:06]: No. Actually, the weather is very, comparable to New York. Yeah. I'm wearing my parka. Tiff [00:11:11]: Oh, okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:12]: The high is around 50 in which the parka will be open, But at night, it's 30. So, yeah, that's like that's like the city. So Tiff [00:11:21]: Alright then. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:21]: I'll be bringing thermals. Tiff [00:11:23]: Well, I last trip I took to Florida, that was true. It was 1 degree warmer in Florida than it was in Astoria, New York. I was like, what? Take me home. Pop on. So, as we mentioned, this the tail end of Black History Month. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:37]: Yes. Tiff [00:11:38]: And, we, You know, something always comes up when there's a, a month to be celebrated like, Black History Month, Pride Month. And pop. You know, you always hear about retailers doing something custom that, that, encompasses things, everything about the month of pride or the month, the Black History Month. And, I thought that was an interesting, article that you sent me regarding that, about, how to incorporate, And pop. The celebration of Black History Month in in your retail business, in all businesses. And, And pop. It seemed very similar to, you know, what you read around pride month too. And one of the things that stuck out to me is that you don't just have to celebrate Just 1 month. Tiff [00:12:26]: No. No. It's it's like, okay, this is great. There's a month that highlights the history of of Impop. Successful black people all over the world. But there's 11 other months in the year that you can continue to to celebrate that and and how you do your business, how you run your business, the products you put out, the market you, attract, that kind of thing. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:51]: Absolutely. Tiff [00:12:53]: I said when we're we had a conversation, I'm like, I kinda like with pride month. I'm like, look at all these people jumping on the bandwagon. I I'd be interested to see who in August are still, you know, really pushing out pride products. And, what's your take on that? Reginald Ferguson [00:13:12]: Well, It's funny you mentioned that because there are definitely great parallels between the 2 because they're movements. So The pride movement, gay rights movement cribs from our playbook Tiff [00:13:27]: in Reginald Ferguson [00:13:28]: terms of civil rights. So and I I believe, You know, of course, they're not a monolith, but I believe they acknowledge that. So I think sometimes in a contemporary standpoint, they forget that. So what I what I find interesting, Black History Month is interesting to me now because I feel, unfortunately, As time goes on, that for the rest of America, The importance is lessened and weakened. Really? Yeah. I do. And I I think that's unfortunate. I think, certainly, If I look at epics of time from when I was growing up to now as an adult entering the second half of things, It's there, but I don't feel it's as strong. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:14]: When we look at pride and we've discussed pride, I find it utterly fascinating that fashion America, much less corporate America, understands The disposable income power of gay America and really responds to that, Yet seemingly ignores the amazing disposable income that African Americans have and that strength. I feel like we're we're taken for granted. So Tiff [00:14:48]: Do you think because pride movement is a newer movement, maybe that's That's why and Sure. And that's why it's Reginald Ferguson [00:14:53]: Absolutely. Tiff [00:14:54]: Gangbusters right now. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:55]: So That's that's why I'm talking about time. Yeah. Time does this. You become you become a new one. You become desensitized. Tiff [00:15:03]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:04]: So, certainly, I can think of I can think of examples that I don't I haven't seen anyone do this month. I'll give you Off off my dome, I'll give you 2 examples, and they relate to my late mother. Tiff [00:15:18]: K. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:19]: So my mom along with my grandparents were the major and dominant fashion influencers to my life. Tiff [00:15:28]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:29]: So I didn't go to a school. I'm not a tailor. I'm a fashion consultant. I believe I have a good eye, But all that came from my mom at first and then my late grandparents. So really, it's it's a triumvirate. So my mom Hung in some pretty cool circles back in the day. I knew of that. I had heard of it. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:51]: I also somewhat witnessed it as a as a wee little kid Looking up at my mom literally and figuratively because the only thing I wanted to do was be like my mom. So, because she was the most and still one of the, most charismatic individuals I had ever met. So I wanted to be like her, and she influenced me in great ways because your mother is your 1st teacher. So that imprint was always strong with me. I was a little kid with my mom at Macy's Herald Square, 34th Street on the kids' floor. My mom stops in her tracks, sees a dashing, handsome African American man. She calls him out, says, Renny. He stops. Reginald Ferguson [00:16:38]: They talk. They kick it. I'm standing there. They had a long conversation. Renny, who's still around, and I had a chance to meet him and talk about, my mom with him. He is the 1st African American Male model to Grace GQ. Tiff [00:17:00]: I thought I recognized that name because we talked about him several several podcasts back. Yes. We did. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:07]: Yeah. So my point is and he and I had an opportunity opportunity to talk about this specifically through the GQ perspective. GQ has forgotten about him. How painful is that? Tiff [00:17:18]: That's awful. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:20]: It you know? And then they kinda doubled. They caught themselves, and then they But how how does that happen? I I for me, my mom did this all the time. She always wanted me to know my history through black history, through African history, but also from a very contemporary standpoint, Who these people are Tiff [00:17:42]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:42]: And their impact, their influence. I mean, he's the Jackie Robinson of Tiff [00:17:49]: Impop fashion models. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:50]: Yep. I mean, that's just real. That's amazing. That's impressive. Who else is talking about him this month? I don't believe anyone else is. This man is still modeling. What? Yep. Tiff [00:18:05]: And pop. How old is he? Reginald Ferguson [00:18:06]: He's old enough to be my dad. We actually teased my dad. Tiff [00:18:09]: I love that. I love that. That's amazing. Reginald Ferguson [00:18:13]: Yeah. Yeah. He's amazing. Who's talking about him? Tiff [00:18:18]: I haven't read anything. Reginald Ferguson [00:18:20]: That's unfortunate. Tiff [00:18:21]: That is unfortunate. Reginald Ferguson [00:18:21]: He's a he's a lion. Tiff [00:18:24]: He's a pioneer. Reginald Ferguson [00:18:25]: Absolutely. Absolutely. So that's one example. I could give a few others. I know a lot of it has to do with time. Right? So but I think fashion America forgets Our impact, our influence, our strength. Tiff [00:18:44]: I I think I would agree with you. I think they forget a lot of things too. I mean, it's it's evident. They have a short what is that called? I Reginald Ferguson [00:18:52]: We're the style changers. I mean, we've had this conversation before. Tiff [00:18:54]: They have a short, long term memory, And pop. For sure. So well, since since we're talking about pioneers Reginald Ferguson [00:19:04]: Yes. Tiff [00:19:05]: I have a couple of pioneers that I, that I I don't know. I went deep diving into Google research. I wanted to talk because it's Black History Month. I wanted to do some research on pioneers in black pioneers in the fashion industry. Because I knew there had to be. There had to have been. And And there were a lot. I could I don't have enough time on the podcast Reginald Ferguson [00:19:27]: Right. Tiff [00:19:28]: To talk about everyone. So I I picked a couple, And pop. And I don't know how much time we have, but, Reginald Ferguson [00:19:34]: a couple Social letters now. Tiff [00:19:35]: A couple of people fascinated me when I was reading. And it was just Reginald Ferguson [00:19:41]: And pop. I just kept going down the rabbit hole and going to the next and Tiff [00:19:42]: the next and restart. Oh, let me hear. Let me read about this. Going link to link to link to link to link. And it was just amazing, the things I learned. So Reginald Ferguson [00:19:50]: Well, what you got? Tiff [00:19:51]: I wish I had a magazine or a book that I could publish it all on so, you know, These folks would get their due again. You know what I mean? Reginald Ferguson [00:19:58]: Yeah. It it's tough. I mean, time does this. It's not unique to what we're talking about. I'm just highlighting it because we are. Tiff [00:20:06]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:06]: I'm a sports fan. And today on social, I was looking at Colin Cowherd, And he did a breakdown of the top 10 scores in NBA history. And people like Elvin Hayes And Wilt Chamberlain. I mean, well, I always say Wilt Chamberlain is the best I never saw. Absolutely. I think it's absolutely true. I mean, this guy, they changed the game for him, literally. They literally changed dimensions of the game frame. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:40]: He still has a stack of records in the books. He's the best I never saw. Right? He's before he's before my time. Michael Jordan is the best I saw. Tiff [00:20:50]: Oh, you got to see Michael Jordan. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:51]: Yeah. Absolutely. Tiff [00:20:53]: Impop. I would have loved to have seen him play live. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:55]: I saw Tiff [00:20:56]: him on TV all the time. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:57]: But But my point is in the top ten, he had people like Elvin Hayes. He had people like Wilt Chamberlain, even Kareem, which obviously is my era, but I'm the tail end of Kareem. I'm not the totality of Kareem, so I'm not old enough. People don't remember. So it'd be it's under then the judgment's under the guise of the contemporary. So the lions, the old lions, they They just they lose their attraction. Tiff [00:21:22]: Mhmm. Reginald Ferguson [00:21:23]: And that's you know, it's unfortunate. It's it's it's whack, I mean, if you really ask me. Tiff [00:21:28]: Impop. Maybe, you know, 20th or 30th or 40th or 50th year anniversary of something will bring mention. That's that's kinda how it happens, isn't it? Reginald Ferguson [00:21:38]: Yes. Yes. Tiff [00:21:39]: As it gets older, you know, more time passes, then it becomes, You know, your the 10th year anniversary, then it's 20th, then it's the 50th, and then it's the 100th. It just sort of more time passes between acknowledgments. Reginald Ferguson [00:21:53]: Right. But I also think it's up to people like ourselves and specifically you because you're really into research. Sometimes it takes 1 individual to go, Hey. Read this. This person? Yeah. Did you know about this person? Tiff [00:22:04]: Alright. Did you read the links I sent you? Weren't they interesting? Reginald Ferguson [00:22:08]: You ask me right now, or are you talking about overall? You lost me there. Tiff [00:22:11]: Oh, the the, the pioneers. Oh, yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:13]: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No. I misunderstood you. Tiff [00:22:15]: I misunderstood you. Excited. I was like, And pop. Read this. Read this. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:18]: Read this. No. This is Tiff [00:22:19]: Normally, you're sending me stuff to read. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:21]: Yeah. Well no. I mean, this really says a lot about you, Tiff, that, You know, like you said, you did a deep dive Tiff [00:22:26]: Oh, yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:26]: Because of genuine interest. And it really it really says a lot that we need more people who look like you To do this for people who look like us. I mean, that says a lot. Because, ultimately, this is about American history or world history. Tiff [00:22:40]: Well, yes. American and world from what I found. Yeah. For sure for sure. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:43]: Depending depending whom it is. Tiff [00:22:44]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:45]: So it's it's important. It's important. Tiff [00:22:48]: Well, I have a question for you. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:49]: Yes. Tiff [00:22:50]: And pop. Do you know who designed the Playboy bunny outfit? Reginald Ferguson [00:22:55]: No. I have no clue. Tiff [00:22:59]: Well, guess what? I do. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:02]: Okay. Well, do tell. Tiff [00:23:04]: She was the one she was the most fascinating read And pop. Probably because I I, I like her a lot, and she's a lot she her interests kinda sort of follow along my interests. Her name was Zelda Barber Wynn Valdez. She was born in 1901, And she passed away in 2001. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:26]: Wow. So, Tiff [00:23:27]: boy, what she did with her life. Amazing. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:30]: Really? Tiff [00:23:30]: So first of all, she's from North Carolina Impala. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:33]: Oh, you love that. Tiff [00:23:33]: As soon as I read that, I was like, what? And I just kept reading. She was trained as a classical pianist. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:39]: Wow. Tiff [00:23:39]: Yep. Then she, she moved up north to, get some work. She her uncle had a, a, hold on. I'm looking, looking, looking, looking. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:49]: Yes. Tiff [00:23:50]: He had a store in White Plains, New York Reginald Ferguson [00:23:52]: Oh, White Plains. Tiff [00:23:53]: That she worked as a, tailor. And so she learned learned the, the trade of I I mean, she grew up sewing. I mean, we're all taught to sew. Right. At least where I'm from. I was taught to sew when I was young. If you were a woman Back in the day Sure. You were taught to sew and cook and stuff like that. Tiff [00:24:09]: Sure. So she took that, and she went and worked in her uncle's store. And she became, like, one of the best. And pop. Everybody wanted her to do the work. Why? And, so she honed her craft, and then she ended up opening her own store. She was, the 1st black woman to open a store on Broadway. The store was called, Zelda Wind, And it was on Broadway and a 158th Street. Reginald Ferguson [00:24:36]: Oh, Sugar Hill. Tiff [00:24:38]: Yeah. Well, they said Washington Heights. Reginald Ferguson [00:24:39]: That's really Washington Heights. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Excuse me. Yeah. Once you once you're north of 157. Tiff [00:24:44]: The first and it's not just the 1st female black on the 1st black on owned business on Broadway. Wow. And it and she was a woman. Isn't that amazing? Reginald Ferguson [00:24:53]: Yeah. Absolutely. Tiff [00:24:53]: She went on Reginald Ferguson [00:24:54]: She won't. Tiff [00:24:55]: She was so successful. She went on and to move her store. She called it Shay Zelda at this point to 57th Street. Yep. A 151 57th Street in Midtown, and she charged around $1,000 back in the day. Then? Back in the day, in $2,950 for a couture gown. Reginald Ferguson [00:25:18]: Oh my god. Tiff [00:25:19]: Yep. She had, like, 9 seamstress working her in her shop. Yep. She, she designed for hold on. I got a whole list of people here. Let's see. Mae West, Ella Fitzgerald, Dorothy Dandridge. Wow. Tiff [00:25:37]: Eartha Kitt. Eartha Kitts. Marian Anderson. Wow. Josephine Baker. These women, she made dresses for. And pop. But That Reginald Ferguson [00:25:45]: was my mom's hero. Tiff [00:25:47]: Oh, yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:25:47]: Justin Baker. Yeah. Tiff [00:25:49]: Hugh Hefner tapped her on the shoulder and said, hey. Can you do this for his 1st bunny suit? What? And it's considered an employee uniform. Right? The bunny suit? Reginald Ferguson [00:25:58]: Yeah. Tiff [00:25:58]: It was the 1st, employee uniform ever patented. So there's a patent on the bunny suit. Woah. This woman has a patent on the bunny suit. Reginald Ferguson [00:26:07]: Oh, damn. Tiff [00:26:07]: Well, she did. Apparently, passes, patents pass on Yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:26:11]: Yeah. Yeah. Tiff [00:26:11]: And pop. So after she had that success with her own store Yeah. A tap Mitchell Reginald Ferguson [00:26:20]: Yeah. And pop. Tiff [00:26:21]: Dance Theatre of Harlem. Yes. Tapped her to do his costumes. She did over 82 shows before she retired to the dance theater department. Reginald Ferguson [00:26:33]: And he just passed, what, a year or 2 years ago? Tiff [00:26:36]: I don't know when he passed. Reginald Ferguson [00:26:37]: Yeah. Tiff [00:26:37]: But she she was still working for him when she passed at 96. Oh. The woman was still working. Impop Right? Reginald Ferguson [00:26:46]: Could we be so lucky? Tiff [00:26:47]: So she also did you know, she did didn't just do design. She costumes as well. And that's when I was like, what? Reginald Ferguson [00:26:52]: And pop. Tiff [00:26:53]: North Carolina costumes. And I just read, and I was like, oh, let me find out more about this woman. And I went Reginald Ferguson [00:26:59]: Jeez. Zelda. Tiff [00:27:00]: Impop. Yes. That's hot. Yeah. Seventh Street. You can't I can't buy anything on 57th Street. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:06]: I wonder where her cross was. I I mean, I know you gave the address. I just can't. But, essentially, she was off at Carnegie Hall. Tiff [00:27:11]: We gotta figure it out. Yeah. But there we go. She was a pioneer. Absolutely. Amazing. And she did one thing one quote she said that it wasn't it wasn't the happiest of times, you know, working in the shop as a tailor, because of the color of her skin. But she did it because she wanted she just wanted to see how far she could go. Tiff [00:27:31]: And pop. Isn't that something? Reginald Ferguson [00:27:32]: Yeah. That was Tiff [00:27:32]: just far she went. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:34]: She went everywhere. She went she went to the top. She did. Tiff [00:27:36]: So you like that? I have another Pioneer if you like that. You wanna hear another one? Reginald Ferguson [00:27:40]: Yeah. Yeah. Was that was a good start. Alright. Well, what else you got? Tiff [00:27:44]: Alright. So, the other thing the other person I found just by a lark, Just, you know, googling and searching, things like that. This gentleman's quite impressive. He lived a very, very short life. Oh. But what he did is just amazing. His name and forgive me if I slaughter it, but I'm gonna say it nice and slow. Jan Ernst Impa. Tiff [00:28:07]: Matziger. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:08]: Yeah. I think he got it. Tiff [00:28:09]: He was he was an inventor, and he's of Surinamese and Dutch Impa. Descent. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:16]: Oh, yeah. Tiff [00:28:17]: So he traveled to the United States at the young age of 19. And pop. Prior to doing that, he worked with his father in in factories learning machinery at starting at the age of 10. So he had that sort of Engineer mind kinda thing, and studied that and worked as a young kid doing those kind of things when he came to the United States. And he first landed in in Philadelphia and had a very difficult time finding work because he didn't speak English. Mhmm. And he The color of his skin prohibited him from doing pretty much anything. So he took English classes at night, and he he ended up getting, a job. Tiff [00:28:55]: Impa. Oh, shoot. I'm looking for it. His first job was in Philadelphia. Mhmm. But it was, Here I go. Hold on. Mhmm. Tiff [00:29:06]: No. It's okay. Hold on. Mhmm. Thank you. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:14]: So he was in Philly. Tiff [00:29:16]: He was in Philly. He got odds and end jobs. That's right. And he moved to Massachusetts. Oh, alright. Lynn, Massachusetts. Because at the time, shoemaking was centered in Massachusetts. Oh. Tiff [00:29:27]: So there was a lot of work for unskilled workers. Unskilled, quote unquote. So that's where he got a job working in a shoe, manufacturer. And he was And pop. Working he was so the shoes are made in 2 different ways. So you've got your upper Reginald Ferguson [00:29:42]: Right. Tiff [00:29:42]: And then you've got your your sole. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:44]: Sure. And the Tiff [00:29:45]: sh the upper has to be attached to the sole. And pop. And that's called lasting. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:49]: Yeah. The last. I don't say the last. Tiff [00:29:50]: A s t I n g. Well, I didn't know that. I always wondered. I I'm I've literally sat down and looked at a pair of shoes. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:56]: Is a gazillion last. Tiff [00:29:59]: I'm like, how do they do that? How do they sit around? Reginald Ferguson [00:30:02]: Yeah. There are literally thousands of last. Tiff [00:30:04]: Well, Reginald Ferguson [00:30:05]: And pop. Tiff [00:30:05]: Back in his day, everything was handmade. So he worked on the upper along with everybody else, and then it all got bottlenecked And pop. When it came time to putting it on the the bottom of the shoe because they were hand lasted either with stitching or hammer and nails all the way around, and it had to be done by hand. And it took 1 person about, all day to do about 50 pairs of shoes. So this gentleman yes. One person that's still a lot. That's a lot. That's by hand. Reginald Ferguson [00:30:32]: That's what I think. Tiff [00:30:33]: That's tremendous. Absolutely. But he was like, there's gotta be a faster way. And he was his mind was And pop. We made a couple of machines, and finally, he got one. He made a machine that attached the upper to the bottom lasting, And pop. And he got a patent for it. So smart. Tiff [00:30:48]: He run he got a patent for it right away. Right away. And then, Impa. He turned 50 shoes a day into 700 pairs of shoes a day with this machine. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:01]: Wow. Tiff [00:31:01]: Yes. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:02]: Game changer. Tiff [00:31:03]: Game changer. Because it you know, shoes were very, very expensive because they were handmade. So not only did he make them, Impop. It make it possible for a lot of shoes to be made in one day. He made it possible for more people to afford nice And pop. Leather shoes. Back in the day, all the shoes were made of leather and nicely made and and now everybody could afford a pair of shoes, which was amazing. Impac. Tiff [00:31:25]: The unfortunate thing is he got his patent, in, 18/83, but then he died in 18 And pop. 89. 6 years later because he got tuberculosis. So he really couldn't he got he got stock in the business. I mean, the guy was gonna make bank, and then he ended up passing away. God. But isn't because of him, the the machines they use today are still very, very much Almost the same as what he invented. Wow. Tiff [00:31:55]: Genius. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:58]: Black genius. Tiff [00:31:58]: Black genius. So that's the end of my pioneer section. I, I have a lot more. Maybe we can make this recurring. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:06]: Sure. Tiff [00:32:07]: Let's do it. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:07]: I'm down. Tiff [00:32:08]: And then I can you know, every now and then, can bring in Reginald Ferguson [00:32:10]: more pioneers. Absolutely. I Tiff [00:32:12]: like it. Alright. That was something too. So that Reginald Ferguson [00:32:14]: was something. Oh, good. Tiff [00:32:16]: Good. Good. Well, let's move on then. And pop. Oh. Oh, I got yours, don't I? Sorry about that. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:20]: No. It's alright. Tiff [00:32:21]: There you go. So Little confuse you know, I'm still my brain is still a little wishy washy. So It's doing fine too. So the next segment we're gonna move on to is Reginald Ferguson [00:32:31]: I must have it. Impa. I must have it. Habit. Habit. Habit. Tiff [00:32:44]: That's your favorite segment. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:46]: Yeah. Well, I'm known to collect stuff. Tiff [00:32:49]: Just a little bit. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:51]: Suits. Shoes. Shoes. Tiff [00:32:55]: Newspapers. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:56]: Magazines. Tiff [00:32:57]: Magazines. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:57]: T shirts. Tiff [00:32:58]: Bags. With pockets. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:00]: Bags. Hats. Tiff [00:33:02]: Getting back to the I must have it. So, Reg Reginald Ferguson [00:33:05]: Yes. Tiff [00:33:06]: The I must have it item of today is loafers. What? I know. I changed it up on you, didn't I? Reginald Ferguson [00:33:13]: Yeah. You didn't more than change it up. You just And pop. I didn't make any You Tiff [00:33:18]: just cold crashed it. Well, because, I thought it was time that I, I took over this section of it for a second. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:23]: Tiff, take over. Tiff [00:33:24]: Well, that that's because you sent me this awesome article, from hypebeast.com Reginald Ferguson [00:33:30]: Yes. Tiff [00:33:31]: Talking about loafers are gonna be 20 twenty's most important shoe. Yeah. The loafer. Yeah. So first, let me talk about the name. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:40]: Why don't you do that? Because I don't know Tiff [00:33:42]: that. Loafer. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:44]: Yes. Tiff [00:33:44]: I've always loved that Reginald Ferguson [00:33:46]: name. Why is that? Tiff [00:33:47]: Because it says what it is. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:49]: Well, what does it say? Tiff [00:33:50]: Your feet just loaf around in them. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:52]: Okay. That's hilarious. Tiff [00:33:55]: It's true. I mean, they're the easiest shoe. You slip them on, you slip them off. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:00]: Yes. Tiff [00:34:00]: No strings attached. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:01]: Literally. Tiff [00:34:02]: Just loafers. And I I'm you know, when I when I saw that it's gonna be the most important shoe, my the first thing that that crap cropped up in my head was Reginald Ferguson [00:34:11]: Yes. Tiff [00:34:12]: Impop. When did it become not the most important shoe? I mean Oh. I mean, I thought loafers are kinda like sneakers. Everybody's got Impop. A pair. Like, everybody has to have a pair of loafers, and everybody's gotta have a pair of sneakers. Why not? I don't know. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:27]: I mean Okay. For me, when I think of loafers, I think of the definition for me being a child, Which is bass penny loafers. Tiff [00:34:42]: Yes. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:43]: That's how I grew up. Tiff [00:34:44]: Your classic. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:45]: That well, that's how I grew up. That was my environment. That's my atmosphere. I was a preppy kid, blah blah blah blah. So but more importantly, I'm an American. So That's my definition. That's the that's the the type that everything is judged by for me. So to to hear about this article stating that, boom, this is what it is, I still find I guess I'm in descent in a way, or I'm confused. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:16]: I have loafers as we speak, but They don't conform to that definition. Tiff [00:35:21]: Would you wear them with your suit or a suit? Reginald Ferguson [00:35:24]: Yeah. Because mine are dress loafers. I have I have 2 sets of loafers. Tiff [00:35:29]: K. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:29]: I have dress loafers, like my blue Ferragamos, which I believe is Tiff [00:35:34]: very beautiful. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:35]: Thank you. So Tiff [00:35:36]: Jewel blue. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:39]: I just call it blue blue. So I wear those Particularly with my blue Halston suit. Couple of Tiff [00:35:50]: Smashing. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:51]: I try. So That was my mom's fashion hero, Halston. So Tiff [00:35:56]: Halston was big back in her day. Hell, yeah. That was everybody's fashion hero back in the day. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:00]: Hell, yeah. Yeah. I haven't seen that documentary. Little. I have mixed feelings about the documentary. Tiff [00:36:07]: I think maybe I did. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:09]: Did you? Tiff [00:36:09]: I think I did. And you didn't tell me? I I think I saw it on a flight. What? I got let me think about it. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:15]: Oh, man. So so my point is that is an exception to me because it's dress. There's no question about it. Tiff [00:36:24]: You can wear them with jeans. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:26]: I you talk I don't wear when I When it's the weekend and I'm not wearing a suit, generally, you know, obviously, it depends on the on the weekend day, but I like for example, I'm going to Atlanta as we know on the weekend. So Saturday, I will rock A pair of lace ups, cap toe lace ups that I generally wear with a suit. Tiff [00:36:55]: I find that to be dressy. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:57]: Well, I find that to be casual because I will have dungarees along with my sport jacket. Tiff [00:37:03]: What? You You're gonna be wearing dungarees. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:05]: That's right. Awesome. But my point is, if it was the weekend here in the city, I would probably have a pair of Chelsea boots on. Okay. So my my point is I don't wear a lot of shoes on the weekend. I usually wear boots. I may even wear a kick, you know, a sneaker here or there. So Tiff [00:37:24]: Well, I have news for you, Reg. You're gonna have to put some loafers in that rotation. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:28]: I have 2 sets. Tiff [00:37:30]: Well, what I'm trying to say is 2020 is the year of the loafer. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:33]: You know, I know. I gave you the article. I I mean, I'm just like Tiff [00:37:37]: Let me let me tell you why. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:38]: Yeah. Please. That's my point. Sell me on this because I'm not buying it. Tiff [00:37:41]: Alright. So it's it's got to do with this, you know, new age millennials Going to work in a little bit more dressed down suiting or no suiting whatsoever, but still trying to if they have a meeting or whatever, to look a little nice. So loafers are a nice step up from the sneaker, which These young folks love Reginald Ferguson [00:38:05]: Everyone's right. Tiff [00:38:06]: Everybody wants to wear the sneakers now. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:08]: Right. Tiff [00:38:09]: I'm I do from time to time, but I am a shoe person. I like shoes. And pop. So just like you. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:15]: Yeah. Tiff [00:38:15]: Yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:16]: Yeah. Tiff [00:38:16]: I mean, there are times when I wear sneakers. When I do my walks around the park, I wear sneakers. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:20]: I understand. Tiff [00:38:21]: Yeah. So but the loafer has really, I've I clicked through that article you sent me, the different. And pop. It really has fashion has done a number on the loafer. It's no longer just your bass regions Reginald Ferguson [00:38:34]: Okay. Anymore. Yeah. So explain. Like I said, I mean, I've got pair. I actually have 2 pairs of Ferragamo loafers. The dress pair that we mentioned, the navy, but then I have the classic, With the, with the bottom, you know, the like, the hiking boot bottom. Tiff [00:38:52]: The oh, okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:53]: The slip on. Tiff [00:38:54]: The lug sole. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:55]: Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. The lug sole with the famous Tiff [00:38:58]: Or the driving muscle. Famous Reginald Ferguson [00:38:59]: Which one? No. No. The lug sole Okay. With the famous, bit Faragamo. Tiff [00:39:04]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:04]: Yes? Yeah. Those are the classics. Tiff [00:39:06]: Those are very nice. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:07]: The classics. Tiff [00:39:07]: Right. The loafers I'm talking about Reginald Ferguson [00:39:09]: to the ATL. Tiff [00:39:10]: Impa. The ones I'm talking about are are the ones that that kinda are a throwback. But loafers now encompass anything that you slip on and and slip off. That includes anything that might have a monk strap as well. Those things are coming all of that's coming back. And it's coming back in a way. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:30]: Yeah. What kind of what yeah. It's okay. What kind of way, Tiff? Because that's why I'm still just flummoxed about And pop. Tiff [00:39:38]: You can wear it with socks? Yes. Without socks? Reginald Ferguson [00:39:41]: Yes. Or hidden socks? Tiff [00:39:44]: With trousers, with cuffs? Reginald Ferguson [00:39:45]: Impac. Yes. Tiff [00:39:46]: With trousers, no cuffs. Yes. With rolled up jeans. Mhmm. You can just you can wear loafers with anything. And pop. That is why I say it's a must have item. And you can you can you can get loafers that are perfect for a 3 piece suit. Tiff [00:40:00]: You can get loafers that are perfect for jeans. And pop. You can get loafers that are perfect for your punk rock outfit. There's a pair of loafers that I saw for that are patent leather black with a with thick Thick. Oh. Souls. Wow. Yes? Reginald Ferguson [00:40:15]: That sounds cool. Tiff [00:40:16]: That's all that's hip. That's really hip now. You can get Tip. Tip. And pop. Dior has a pair that's like green snakeskin with a big metal plate going across the tongue part that spells out Dior. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:31]: Oh, one. Tiff [00:40:31]: I mean, it is like I don't know what you call that. That's that's excessive if you ask me. But it's from one end of the spectrum to the other. Sure. It's all still a loafer. And loafers are comfortable? Reginald Ferguson [00:40:44]: Yes. Tiff [00:40:45]: They're versatile? Reginald Ferguson [00:40:46]: Yes. Tiff [00:40:47]: And, everyone should have a pair of loafers in their closet. Impac. At least 1. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:51]: The tiff has spoken. So I have. Essentially, you're saying this is a foundational piece. Tiff [00:40:55]: Yes. Absolutely. And the fact that this this article is titled, why loaf why loafers are gonna be 2020's most important shoe, I I say it's always. And pop. It's been every every year's important shoe. I guess it's the most important shoe in 2020 because people are discovering that you can look nice with loafers. And you get the comfort of a sneaker, but you're wearing something that's a tad bit dressed up, but can still be casual. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:22]: I understand. For me, Tiff, I think the jury's still out. We are in the Q1 of the year. We probably need to revisit this at the Q4 Tiff [00:41:34]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:35]: To see, if this really has come to fruition. Tiff [00:41:39]: Come to pass. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:40]: Yeah. Tiff [00:41:41]: Well, I can tell you we have predicted a lot of things in our past podcasts. Pretty much it all has come to fruition. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:47]: It has? Tiff [00:41:48]: Oh, yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:49]: Oh, wow. So we're fashion seers. Tiff [00:41:50]: I think we are. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:51]: I never deemed myself that. Tiff [00:41:53]: I think we are on the cusp Reginald Ferguson [00:41:55]: Oh. Tiff [00:41:55]: Of fashion and what's important in fashion. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:59]: You're a mouth of God's ears. Tiff [00:42:01]: That sounds nice. Alright. So that's it for, Reginald Ferguson [00:42:08]: Tiff, takeover. Tiff [00:42:10]: I'm a step back and give you a a moment to to, you know, join me. No. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Take us to the next segment. Reginald Ferguson [00:42:17]: What's what's the next segment? Tiff [00:42:19]: Fashion word of the day. Reginald Ferguson [00:42:21]: Oh, yeah. Fashion word of the day of the day. Tiff [00:42:34]: So this is a segment where we each I mean, you for those who've been listening, you know exactly what we're gonna do. But for the new listeners, this is where we each bring a word, a fashion word to challenge each other. Yeah. It's a it's a learning experience Yeah. I think, because, you know, you do stump me sometimes, and I certainly stump you. Definitely. So, we bring a word. We spell it, and we define it. Tiff [00:42:57]: And if we define it right, we know the word. We use it in a sentence. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:00]: That's right. Tiff [00:43:01]: Alright. So, Reg, you go first. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:04]: Oh, really? Okay. Here we go, Tiff. Epulet. Tiff [00:43:10]: Epulet. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:11]: Yes. Tiff [00:43:12]: E p u l e t. Are you telling me I didn't spell that right? Reginald Ferguson [00:43:20]: That's what I'm telling you, and search will do the effect later. Tiff [00:43:23]: Impop. You close to one of mine. What? How did I miss that? I know what it is. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:28]: Well, well Tiff [00:43:29]: It's born of military. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:31]: Yes. Tiff [00:43:31]: It, it used to be, something that was added to a military uniform on the shoulders Reginald Ferguson [00:43:37]: Yes. Tiff [00:43:37]: With fringe Reginald Ferguson [00:43:38]: Yes. Tiff [00:43:39]: To, you know, to, Impa. I guess make that uniform more important than others. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:45]: Yes. That's nice, but you got the spelling wrong. Tiff [00:43:50]: Okay. How do you spell it? Reginald Ferguson [00:43:52]: E p a u I know. L e t. Tiff [00:43:56]: I knew I missed the u. Epaulette. Because it's French. Impop. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:01]: I thought yeah. Well, you missed something. You missed a vow. That's all I know. Tiff [00:44:05]: I did miss a vow. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:06]: Yes, you did. Tiff [00:44:06]: Well, I'm not gonna use it in the sentence because I Reginald Ferguson [00:44:08]: not because you blew it. Tiff [00:44:09]: Because I blew it. Yep. I'm sorry. Alright. I'm looking for my word. I I seem to be a mess today. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:17]: Well, you know, if you don't have it, Tiff, then we we can move on. Tiff [00:44:20]: Oh, Reg, I got many words. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:22]: Oh, boy. Tiff [00:44:23]: You seem to forget. Let's see which 1 shot I Reginald Ferguson [00:44:27]: choose to do. This whole list thing is ridiculous. Tiff [00:44:30]: I'm gonna pick 1 that I Impop. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:33]: Thing. But Timely. Yeah. Because we're running out of time. Tiff [00:44:36]: With a surgeon's cuffs. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:40]: Okay. Tiff, you did this before, so you get buzzed. Okay. Moving on. Tiff [00:44:44]: Did I really? Reginald Ferguson [00:44:45]: Yeah. Moving Tiff [00:44:46]: on. I wanted Reginald Ferguson [00:44:47]: to do Tiff [00:44:47]: it because of your suit. And pop star. Your suit is showing surgeon cons. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:51]: That's true. But you have done this word before. Tiff [00:44:54]: Well, for those listeners who are new Oh. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:57]: In power. Tiff [00:44:57]: Let me proceed. Surgeon cuffs, can I tell at least tell the new people? Because we can we can talk about your suit again. Reginald Ferguson [00:45:03]: Not with we don't have much time to do that, but go. Tiff [00:45:06]: Impop. Surgeon cuffs refer to the functional buttons on a suit jacket sleeve. Meaning, the buttons on they can actually open and they can close. Most of the suits you buy off the rack just have decorative buttons there. But Reg, you spared no expense and you got surgeon cuffs on that nice. You got 4 of them. And pop. And the whole point of it being called surgeon's cuffs is when the surgeons would wear them, they would want to roll up the sleeve not to get their sleeves dirty. Reginald Ferguson [00:45:33]: Yeah. Tiff [00:45:35]: For those of you who didn't hear it the first time. Reginald Ferguson [00:45:38]: Yeah. Right. Yeah. Well, well, big save there. Tiff [00:45:41]: And pop. Whatever. My brain is dead.
