The Fashion Geek Podcast

28 | I Love Seersucker Now

Reg and Tiff talk about seersucker and how it took Reg decades to understand its significance in his family. Equally as important is the limited edition Haspel capsule collection that Tiff talks about. Nike takes its sneaker out its mouth thanks to Colin Kaepernick. Reg wants to know why men still persist in wearing the romper (“Fashion Fools”) and why the Santos de Cartier is the only way to fly (“I Must Have It”).

Reginald Ferguson [00:02:09]: Well, let's see. What have I seen? I don't know if I've really seen much. I'm always looking around, but always just trying to look for clients. I'm actually getting ready, fingers crossed, to, attend, I think, next weekend, A fashion confab. Tiff [00:02:28]: Oh, Reginald Ferguson [00:02:29]: yeah? Yes. I actually emailed you about this months ago. So, hopefully, you can go 1 of the 2 days, if not 2 of the 2 days so We can kinda do, you know, collab. I'll take you. One side of the room. I work the other side or something like that. So it's the CTDA. Tiff [00:02:45]: Yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:46]: So yes. Yeah. So that's, that's in a week or so. So I'm looking forward to that. Trying to see if I can expand my network and collab. Tiff [00:02:56]: You're so good at that. I have to I gotta give you props Reginald Ferguson [00:02:59]: to my network. Good at it, but I I Tiff [00:03:01]: You do you you pay on the payment. You do what you gotta do. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:03]: Well, yeah. Certainly. Tiff [00:03:04]: Name out there. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:04]: Trying to trying to grow the business. My business coach told me I need to get deeper in the industry. Tiff [00:03:11]: Boom. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:11]: Big shout out to George Telomey. Tiff [00:03:13]: Get your shovel out. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:14]: Yep. He was like, no longer should you be on the peripheral. Alright. I was like, wow. Okay. I guess that's true. So yeah. So I'm trying to make it happen. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:24]: So I'm gonna be prepared for that following weekend, Bring some business cards. Probably bring my postcard. Tiff [00:03:32]: I like the postcards. They're very nice. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:33]: Thank you very much. Tiff [00:03:34]: So And pop. And And then if anybody go to his Facebook page. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:39]: You can see them. Insta. Tiff [00:03:41]: Oh, there's a postcard on your it's on your website, And pop. And it's on Facebook. But I don't know if it is your postcard on your Reginald Ferguson [00:03:48]: Instagram? No. It Tiff [00:03:49]: is not? No. It's not. No. You gotta you gotta Google reg oh, you gotta Google New York fashion geek, And then look on the website and look on the Facebook page. You'll see the postcard. It's it it's rad. You look good. Reginald Ferguson [00:04:00]: Thank you. I appreciate that. So, yes. I'm I'm eager for that and, you know, just try to make some connections. I think the biggest thing for me in terms of my pitch is really trying to make brands understand, particularly tailors, 2 things. 1, yes. You make suits. Yes. Reginald Ferguson [00:04:20]: Your clients appreciate them. They look good in them. But when they leave the store, they don't know what to do. Tiff [00:04:26]: What do they do with that suit after they you made it for them? Reginald Ferguson [00:04:29]: Well, not even necessarily the suit, just the rest of their wardrobe. They don't know how to coordinate, How to match things. That's really the pitch and the idea that I'm trying, pardon me, trying to convey to these individuals that, hey. Let's let's share in your clientele, and let's make them even better. Tiff [00:04:49]: Mhmm. Reginald Ferguson [00:04:50]: Because once they walk out, They don't know what to do. And more importantly, these tailors don't have the time or the interest to try to help their clients coordinate. Tiff [00:05:02]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:05:02]: Not at all. Tiff [00:05:03]: No. Because they gotta move on. You know, tailoring tailoring takes a long time. Very detail oriented, very tedious. You can't, you know, you can't put out suits like a big manufacturer doing these, You know, off the rack suits and stuff. You know, most of the time when you get made to measure or bespoke, it takes time. Reginald Ferguson [00:05:22]: Right. Tiff [00:05:23]: So, yeah, the tailor didn't have time to tell you, okay. You wear this shirt with that and that hot square and that tie and this tie pin, and you coordinate this too and that belt and this and that and the other thing. That's where you come in. Reginald Ferguson [00:05:34]: Exactly. Boom. Dead on. Tiff [00:05:37]: So I have a question. Reginald Ferguson [00:05:38]: Sure. Tiff [00:05:38]: Are you gonna be wearing your seersucker suit to the c Reginald Ferguson [00:05:42]: t d a. Well, first of all, from what I recollect, the days that I can go are Saturday and Sunday. Saturday and Sunday are not suit days unless it's a specific occasion or event. Saturdays Sundays, sport jacket and Tiff [00:06:00]: pants. Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:02]: Them's the rules. Monday through Friday, suited and booted. Tiff [00:06:06]: And pop. Because I was looking forward to, seeing your seersucker suit, seeing as I saw something that's happening. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:13]: What did you see, Tiff? Tiff [00:06:16]: I saw that Haspel. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:17]: Oh, this is why you're constantly asking me about my pussy. Tiff [00:06:21]: Haspel, the original Impa. Maker. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:24]: The OG. Tiff [00:06:25]: The original maker of the seersucker suit has released a capsule And pop. Archival collection Reginald Ferguson [00:06:33]: Wow. Tiff [00:06:34]: Of seersucker suits. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:36]: Yes. Tiff [00:06:37]: And and this is, it this because they're turning a 110 years old. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:41]: Wow. Tiff [00:06:41]: This company. And it's still family owned. Family owned after a 110 years. They're still in business. So they're That's amazing. So they're celebrating by doing throwback suits, basically. Throwback 5 different kinds of silhouettes, 5 different silhouettes. There's a double breasted in there. Tiff [00:06:58]: There's a Reginald Ferguson [00:06:59]: Sheesh. Tiff [00:06:59]: And pop. Tiff [00:06:59]: There's a okay. It's a I think it's a 2 by. When you button you have 2 buttons or 1 by 2. You have 2 buttons, but you button 1. Is that That's what that's Reginald Ferguson [00:07:08]: Well, are you talking about a 2 button with a roll? With a Tiff [00:07:12]: Oh, I don't know. Alright. Sorry. That's your department, not mine. But there's 5 different looks Reginald Ferguson [00:07:18]: Right. Tiff [00:07:19]: And they're releasing exactly 110 suits in each look. Tiff [00:07:25]: Oh. Tiff [00:07:26]: So that's a 110 times 5. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:28]: True capsule. Tiff [00:07:29]: They're only making a total of 550 suits, And they're each gonna be numbered, and they're gonna use the old label, the throwback vintage label that they don't Reginald Ferguson [00:07:40]: even use Tiff [00:07:40]: these days to make it true vintage throwback. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:43]: Right. Tiff [00:07:44]: Isn't that cool? Reginald Ferguson [00:07:44]: That's very cool. First of all, am I correct or incorrect? Haspel, the brand, is from the South. Correct? Tiff [00:07:52]: New Orleans. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:53]: It's from Louisiana. Oh, I knew it. Yes. Tiff [00:07:55]: I have Reginald Ferguson [00:07:55]: a good memory. It's from Louisiana. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:59]: Big shout out to my boy, Robert Saulsberry, who is from Louisiana. He's from he's not from New Orleans, though. Just spoke to him earlier And if Tiff [00:08:05]: you ever been to New Orleans, you know how hot it is. Imposs. The seersucker suit was kind of a necessity. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:11]: May may I may I talk to you about seersucker? Sure. Of course. Okay. Well, first of all, Totally didn't catch that hint, which, is kind of a theme because you're like, you're super super serious. Yeah. I'm like, no. No. What? What? What? No. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:25]: I haven't worn it yet. I usually I only wear it when it really, really gets hot, but it's funny that you're inquiring about that. I like to tell all you guys a story. When I was growing up as a young adult, my late grandmother, I remember, said to me once probably more than once, actually. She was like, you should get a seersucker suit. And I was like, no. Tiff [00:08:52]: They are a statement. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:53]: I was like, no. No. Tiff [00:08:54]: You Have to be really kind. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:57]: No. No. I was like, grandma, no. I just as a young adult, I didn't get it. I didn't like it. Tiff [00:09:04]: You didn't wanna look like a barber barbershop quartile. Tiff [00:09:06]: I Reginald Ferguson [00:09:06]: didn't know. I didn't I don't know if that was it. I don't know if it was Matlock. I don't know what it was. Tiff [00:09:12]: Oh my God. I totally forgot about the matlock. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:14]: Just it just wasn't my sneeze. I had summer suits as I was acquiring my my wardrobe and building it, my My 1st generation of the 2 week rotation, but just wasn't my just was not my thing. My grandma passed, and I think I don't know. Necessarily soon after. I'm not trying to make it so romantic, but I don't know. Less than 10 years ago, I decided that I wanted a seersucker suit. Tiff [00:09:48]: Boom. Just like that. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:50]: Just like that. Tiff [00:09:51]: Did you see it somewhere or something? You were like, well, I want that. Or did you just Reginald Ferguson [00:09:54]: I think it was more about I'm very introspective. I'm always thinking, and Was I reading a magazine per se? Maybe, but not necessarily. But potentially. Tiff [00:10:05]: Germinating the idea of your business and Reginald Ferguson [00:10:07]: saying No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:08]: No. No. Impopka. Tiff [00:10:09]: No. To have a seer's name. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:10]: No. No. This is way before Tiff [00:10:13]: He was my collection. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:14]: No. This is way before NYFG was even a glimmer in my Tiff [00:10:16]: eye. Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:17]: Because it was really My buddy, Ben Rosenfeld, who who really created the idea of this business, meaning, like, you should do this. It wasn't me. Tiff [00:10:26]: Alright. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:27]: But I just decided I want to get it. And I posted this once on Facebook, and, actually, the anniversary of that was just the other day, and I reposted it on my personal Facebook. I'm just so sorry, grandma, that I did not catch those hints. I'm glad you find it funny because I don't. I just I find it sad. I'm just like, I I didn't get it, And I'm so sorry that I was so late, and I love seersucker now. I only have 1. I'm not gonna lie. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:01]: I can't imagine that double breasted thing because to me, double breasted in the summer though I don't wanna talk out of both sides of my mouth. I do have a dope linen Double breasted sport jacket, Banana Republic, and it's bananas. It's a white it's a white it's a navy with a white Window pane. Mhmm. But I didn't realize how much I would like seersucker. Tiff [00:11:25]: Now why it's is it Let's let's talk about why you like it. I mean, the fabric Reginald Ferguson [00:11:29]: I'm gonna explain. Tiff [00:11:30]: The fabric is very unique. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:31]: I'm gonna explain. Tiff [00:11:32]: Okay. Go ahead. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:32]: Sure. Yeah. And I'd like you to talk in discourse about the uniqueness, please. I don't wanna cut you off about that. Tiff [00:11:37]: No. No. No. You can talk about it. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:38]: So I like how amazingly light and thin it is, And that's why to me, you will for me, I don't really use it until it's, like, consistently 90 degrees. It's gotta Tiff [00:11:51]: be hot. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:51]: The reason why is if you wear it and it's cool, you're gonna feel everything. So that's one thing I discovered. So to me, it's really gotta be hot. It's gotta be hot. Tiff [00:12:07]: Impop. Just like a linen suit. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:08]: It's gotta be hot. Well, you see, the linen is different. Now you've seen my linen. Big shout out. Yes. Yes. I have a beige linen suit. That linen is from Ireland. Tiff [00:12:18]: Yes. The Irish linen. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:20]: Right. The Irish linen. Tiff [00:12:21]: Touched it. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:21]: That's right. And you liked And Tiff [00:12:23]: pop titties. Tiff [00:12:23]: I liked it. I remember. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:25]: Yeah. I I broke it out. Tiff [00:12:26]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:27]: I wore it 2 weeks ago. I'm gonna post it on my Insta again. I had a nice combo. White shirt, green tie. Big pow. Nice. But the this the the, the seersucker It's very light. It's very thin. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:42]: I like the color because, obviously, I have the traditional. And really, to be What I really learned is Tiff [00:12:50]: The traditional is blue and white. Right? Reginald Ferguson [00:12:51]: Yeah. Well, the yeah. The candy stripe, whether it's blue and white or, you know, Pink and white, bubble or yellow. Right. So, like, I'm sure, like, these Hasbull Tiff [00:12:59]: They're they're tea stained, so the color's a little bit more muted. Reginald Ferguson [00:13:03]: Oh, explain to me what the tea stain is, because I I I read that Tiff [00:13:06]: literally being stained with tea. What? Yeah. The cotton that's being Stain. It just creates a more muted color in the thread. Tiff [00:13:14]: Oh. Tiff [00:13:15]: So it makes it a little, I mean, it doesn't make it look dirty. It just Impop. It's muted. Reginald Ferguson [00:13:20]: It's Tiff [00:13:20]: Oh. The colors aren't, like, not like the blue and white that just Tiff [00:13:24]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:13:24]: Screams Tiff [00:13:25]: seersucker. I Reginald Ferguson [00:13:25]: don't think my blue and white screams. Tiff [00:13:27]: Mhmm. Reginald Ferguson [00:13:28]: I think it I think it whispers authoritatively, so I really like it. So, obviously, I do the Did the traditional styling. Uh-huh. But I'm gonna tell you some tweaks Okay. That I did. Tiff [00:13:42]: Alright. Reginald Ferguson [00:13:43]: Okay? Tiff [00:13:43]: I wanna hear that. Reginald Ferguson [00:13:44]: I noticed that For a lot of times with the American seersucker, I generally do not like the buttons. There's a big shout out to my boy, Bob Bondage, who's a client, because because he knows I have a button guy. Tiff [00:13:56]: So What's wrong with the buttons? Are they normally the plastic Reginald Ferguson [00:13:59]: Yeah. That white plat yeah. They're just wack. Okay. They're just wax. So what I immediately did was I shop for a new set of buttons. Tiff [00:14:07]: Oh, okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:08]: I went to my button guy, and, actually, my button guy didn't have what I liked, So I went to another I went to a major shop. He's a small independent shop. I went to a major shop. I went to what was it? M and J? Tiff [00:14:20]: M and J trimmings? Reginald Ferguson [00:14:21]: Yeah. They're big big Tiff [00:14:23]: on buttons. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:23]: Right. Exactly. Tiff [00:14:24]: I go to that store. I get lost with all the buttons and think about all the things I could do with buttons. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:29]: Big shout out to M&J. I took my time. They they're not on you, which I like. Like, the ladies were like, do you need help? And if you say no, bam. That's it. They back off. Tiff [00:14:37]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:37]: So I took my time, I got some crazy for me, like, nautical buttons. They're, like, white with a gold trim and blue. Remind me, and I'll I'll post on Insta. Tiff [00:14:49]: Is there an anchor on them? Reginald Ferguson [00:14:50]: No. No. No. No. No. I mean, nautical to me. Tiff [00:14:52]: Not nautical that way. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:54]: Yeah. No. But nautical to me. Clarify. Yeah. I just was like, I want I wanted to have that type of sneeze to it. Tiff [00:14:59]: Got it. Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:00]: So I did that. Tiff [00:15:01]: You personalized it. And pop. You can do anything with buttons. I love Reginald Ferguson [00:15:04]: that. It. Tiff [00:15:06]: You regified. Okay. What else what else did you do? No. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:08]: So I I that's all I did. I did the buttons. And then also to let you know, when I when I rock that suit, particularly if I rock it, sans tie And just with the shirt Nice. Even though you know, I do it with the tie too. But when I do it, shoes, my blue Slip on calf aragamos. What? Tiff [00:15:30]: Yeah. And what about your pocket square? You have a flouncy pocket I have Reginald Ferguson [00:15:34]: a flouncy one, but I have a nice gingham one. Tiff [00:15:37]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:37]: Oh, yeah. Tiff [00:15:38]: But you fold it? You don't Yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:39]: Yeah. Yeah. Tiff [00:15:40]: You don't let it poof? Reginald Ferguson [00:15:40]: No. No. No poof. No poof. Okay. Me no poof. Tiff [00:15:43]: I would poof. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:44]: Me no poof. Tiff [00:15:45]: No? No poof for you? Reginald Ferguson [00:15:46]: Me no poof. Tiff [00:15:46]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:47]: So I'm just saying. And I looked at it Recently, I might ask. I may have to release this soon. But I wanna talk about something something related that I have learned that I'm very curious about. Now I'm not saying I'm gonna get another seersucker. If I got sponsored, I'd get another seersucker. But what I'm really feeling is the un American style. Meaning, the solid seersucker. Tiff [00:16:16]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:16:17]: And also feeling like that Japanese seersucker. Like, I'm seeing in navy and in green. No stripe. Just salad. Right. Tiff [00:16:23]: You could, But you still have the puckering. Reginald Ferguson [00:16:25]: It's yeah. But it's Tiff [00:16:27]: Nice. I'm Reginald Ferguson [00:16:28]: like, yeah. That's like next level. Tiff [00:16:30]: Oh, I gotta check that out. I have not seen that yet. Reginald Ferguson [00:16:32]: Yeah. Yeah. Tiff [00:16:33]: And pop. Tiff [00:16:34]: Alright. And what do I what I mean by the puckering in the fabric is seersucker is is the the warp and the weave, which we've talked about before. It it's it's what makes a piece of fabric fabric. The warp goes one way. The weave goes the other. And depending on the tension of your threads, with a seersucker. One of them, the warp or the weave is tight, and the other one is a loose, so that creates a puckering in the fabric when it's woven. And then the seersucker, the the color the the the, Impa. Tiff [00:17:05]: I mean, it's a seersucker design, check, I guess you could call it. No. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:09]: I mean, I I mean, I call it stripe if we're talking And Tiff [00:17:12]: pop Stripe. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:12]: Yeah. American traditional. And I wanna be clear about that because, really, its history comes from India. Tiff [00:17:17]: Yes. And it there there is the derivative. Yes. The derivation of the word seersucker comes from an Indian word, which I can't even pronounce, but it goes way back then. But it the different color, The stripe or the check is created by the warp being 1 color and the weave being the other. So the threads are different colors, and when they come together, That's how you create your different color and your design and your puckering. And the puckering is like little pockets of air when it's against your skin, and that's why it's cool. And it's made of cotton. Tiff [00:17:48]: That's another reason why it's cool. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:50]: 2 summers ago, y'all, I sweated through my sisucker so bad Then my friends were laughing at me. Tiff [00:17:58]: Now that's another interesting point, lining in a seersucker suit. Most of the time, it's a half lining. It's not a full lining because then you're gonna ruin the whole point of the seersucker. So yeah. Yeah. The you have you have that. Reginald Ferguson [00:18:14]: I had splotches. It looked like I dipped in the pool. Tiff [00:18:18]: You gotta make sure you carry a fan to get you, you know, And pop. Every day you wear your Sitter Sucker, you gotta walk around with a fan to keep Reginald Ferguson [00:18:25]: the ventilation going. That would be interesting. Can can we can we speak about fans? Y'all, what is going on With these fans that now connect to your cell phone, what is the most interesting and also obnoxious thing? Tiff [00:18:36]: I never I don't know which time Reginald Ferguson [00:18:37]: at least 2 people in the past week or 2. Tiff [00:18:40]: Because it's hot in New York, y'all. Reginald Ferguson [00:18:42]: I saw someone. I don't know if it was a iPhone. I don't know what it was, but they Tiff [00:18:45]: can't genius. Reginald Ferguson [00:18:46]: It really is. It's interesting, but it's also obnoxious. Like, I saw this sister. Sister, you know who you are. Yeah. She was a big girl. Tiff [00:18:54]: She was sitting down and Reginald Ferguson [00:18:55]: No. She was standing, And she had her hand in such a way. And I was she was at the door, and I was at the door on the other side of the car. And she just looked like this. Tiff [00:19:06]: And like this so the people can see who's listening to us. She's standing there with her hand up and open, directing the fan onto her face. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:13]: With her eyes at half mast. Tiff [00:19:15]: And it probably felt good. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:17]: But it was really freaking hilarious. That's all I'm saying. Tiff [00:19:20]: I gotta check this out. I'm I might buy one of those. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:23]: Yeah. Okay. Tiff [00:19:25]: It gets hot in New York. Not in humid. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:26]: I understand. You know what? Even in August. If it was the old school, like, growing up let me tell you something I had growing up from my my late uncle, uncle Arch, my favorite uncle from Fort Lauderdale, he had a hand fan. It was like this. It was battery joint. You This is like old school New York. I When I was a kid, I used that as a plane. I was like, Tiff [00:19:50]: Impop. What then they made him where he could Reginald Ferguson [00:19:51]: put on Tiff [00:19:52]: a little bottle of water, and it would spray niggling on you. You had one of those? Did you have one of those? Reginald Ferguson [00:19:58]: No. I don't remember that. Tiff [00:19:59]: My Stepson when he was little. We we got him one of those because he he runs hot. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:05]: So, obviously, this is another Generation of that. But it was it was on the fine line, everybody, of being slick yet obnoxious. That's all I'm saying. Tiff [00:20:15]: Okay. Be careful. Impa. I'm a go buy 1 and give it a go. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:20]: Oh, you do that. Tiff [00:20:21]: So something else happened while I was away. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:24]: What's that? A lot of things happen when you go away. Tiff [00:20:27]: I know. Everything happens when I go away. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:28]: Well, there you go. Tiff [00:20:30]: You know, we've been talking about pride month the past couple of episodes Tiff [00:20:34]: Yes. Tiff [00:20:34]: And how the different, brands of fashion and clothing are sort of, you know, putting out these capsules or these iterations of of of clothing and merchandise that support, the pride month. And Nike wanted to do the exact same thing. They wanted to hop in the game, but something happened. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:57]: We talking about those Nikes? Tiff [00:21:00]: Yep. Reginald Ferguson [00:21:02]: Okay. Well, yeah, what Popping was Tiff [00:21:04]: Let's talk about it because I know you I I know you wanna talk about it. Reginald Ferguson [00:21:08]: Well, I mean, I always have an opinion. I'm a New Yorker. Right. So You're talking about the Nikes with the old I like to call the old Betsy Ross flag. Tiff [00:21:19]: That is what's called the Betsy Ross flag. Reginald Ferguson [00:21:22]: Sure. Tiff [00:21:23]: So Nike was like, oh, cool. Let's do this. Let's join the whole pride thing. We're gonna drop this flag shoe, And pop. But we're not gonna put the current flag, you you know, the United States of America. We're gonna put on this flag that shows the 3 stars in a circle of the 13 original colonies flag, which I don't understand why they chose to do that. But Colin Kaepernick was like, hey, Nike. You might wanna rethink that, which is I absolutely, what I was, first of all, surprised that Nike wasn't thinking this way. Tiff [00:22:03]: But Impop. Really? I wasn't because you and I have also talked about other big brands. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:07]: How many episodes? And Tiff [00:22:09]: other brands that are just not they're not Impop. Thinking because they don't have a diversified group of people to consult on fashion and putting out new fashion and and how it might offend. So yeah. So Colin Kapyr, Nick called. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:27]: Well, here's the thing. If I recall correctly, 65 pairs did slip out. Tiff [00:22:33]: I did read that. So Nike immediately Took back everything that they had shipped. So they had already shipped it out when Colin called. And he's like, look, dude. This is not good. To some people, it's offensive. To some people, it stands for, Impop. Reginald Ferguson [00:22:47]: Stands for racism. Tiff [00:22:48]: And and aero slavery, white supremacy, and nationalism. Yep. Exactly. And and to me, I just didn't understand why you wouldn't just use you know, if you wanna do it for pride month, put the pride flag on there. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:02]: I have no idea Why this happened in terms of an idea Mhmm. To your point. I I don't. Why would I? I'm not in Beaverton, Not likely to ever be, but if I ever do go, I gotta get into that Nike shop. And I do have a connect. So, Wow. What a surprise. Well, it's America. Tiff [00:23:24]: So So 65 pairs did get sold Reginald Ferguson [00:23:27]: Yes. Tiff [00:23:27]: Before, you know, the recall happened. And, and they're out there. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:32]: And if they're getting resold, which I know they are, they're going for boo coo bucks. Tiff [00:23:38]: Some of them are. The article I read that some of them are not going so much. Some of them are. Some of them are not. I guess it depends on your market. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:44]: It's a limited it's a limited edition. I mean, it just is what it is. Tiff [00:23:49]: Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:49]: So I'm not that guy. I never have been. If I had a pair, I'd sell. Tiff [00:23:54]: Kudos for Nike for going, oh, shit. Yeah. You're right. Give it back. Kudos for that. Reginald Ferguson [00:24:01]: Yeah. I mean, I'm just like, okay. It's just another day in America, though. Because the the ignorance, the tone deafness. I've been black all my life, so this is another day in the office. It just really is. I think, if anything, That really is un unsurprising yet perturbing is the response from people who don't look like me, who don't understand what the hubbub is about. Tiff [00:24:35]: They didn't read the article. Reginald Ferguson [00:24:37]: No. They just don't know their history. What article do they need to read? Tiff [00:24:41]: Well, the article that explains that the problem with this flag is this. Reginald Ferguson [00:24:45]: Well, I mean I mean, Tiff [00:24:46]: you're gonna have your face. Reginald Ferguson [00:24:47]: Article. You just you just need to you just you just need to understand history. I mean, that's all. I mean, that's that's what it's about. Right? It's it's really that simple. So Tiff [00:24:57]: And do you wanna live your life in the present and the future or Shit from the past. Reginald Ferguson [00:25:05]: Well, a lot of people wanna make America great again. Right? So Don't get me started. So This reflects this this romantic time in which everyone pulled their weight And had a stake in the dream, except for people who look like me. So I'm sorry. It's absolutely ridiculous. Oh, GI bill. Now don't get me wrong. My favorite uncle Archie, who I mentioned before with the hand fan, benefited from the GI bill. Reginald Ferguson [00:25:38]: But you know what? If he had decided to take it to another level and try to go to Levittown, that would have happened. So because Levittown wasn't down for the Brown. So All this stuff is just not surprising. It's 2019. We're making progress, But it's really more about a cultural psychology that's embedded in people who don't look like me, In which if you're not really attuned to history, it's like this, essentially. And this is not bombast. This is like having the stars and bars on the back of a pair of kicks. It just is. Reginald Ferguson [00:26:26]: It just is. And we know we have people who've got stars and bars on the back of their truck, And they run it up the flagpole in front of their house. You know, the lost, You know, the lost tribe. You know, there wasn't the lost decade, lost generation. You know, the whole thing with the Confederacy. So, you Tiff [00:26:49]: know, stop. Tiff [00:26:50]: Stop. Not our flag. Stop. Reginald Ferguson [00:26:52]: Stop. All this happened at the expense of us who came in this chattel. So stop. This is ridiculous. And I wanna be really clear. We are here in New York. The North had slaves. So, you know, let's not get all high and mighty. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:09]: So but let's just under I think we talked about this before, just not in this vein. Fashion can be politics. Fashion is symbolism. A lot. Absolutely. Tiff [00:27:24]: And we've seen a lot of it doing this podcast. Fashion and politics are they they are intertwined in this day and age. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:31]: When I went to and I know you didn't get a chance to. I know you did it online. You did the online tour, which wasn't the same. It wasn't as good. But when I went to the pink exhibit at FIT, To be honest, so interesting learning the symbolism of pink depending of the era depending on the country. Tiff [00:27:52]: Yep. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:54]: That if you're a man and you live in India rocking pink It's like rocking gray or rocking black. Not understanding, though, it was my era, how pink was utilized as a color of rebellion. So act up. Tiff [00:28:14]: Yes. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:14]: Punk rock. So, you know, it's just interesting how these things have a significance. Tiff [00:28:22]: Yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:23]: That's how it can work. And this has a negative connotation. Tiff [00:28:28]: So I was just surprised that it Nike. I I mean Need Reginald Ferguson [00:28:31]: more black folks in the executive ranks. Tiff [00:28:33]: Well, and it's Nike. They've collaborated. They've collaborated with And Reginald Ferguson [00:28:37]: straight folks and gay folks Tiff [00:28:38]: So many Reginald Ferguson [00:28:39]: and binary folks. You need these executive teams to reflect America. Tiff [00:28:49]: Impop. A diverse America. Exactly. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:51]: Exactly. And speaking of that, big shout out to the US Women's National Team, Because Rapinoe in her speech, who you know, I had a posting of her on my on my Insta on New York Fashion Week. You guys could see it. Need a lot more likes. I thought it was a very funny post I did. So Tiff [00:29:10]: I'll check it out. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:10]: Yeah. So because my crew from from the Netherlands had their regalia. Tiff [00:29:15]: Oh. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:15]: And I was like, yeah. Yeah. Check out my outfit. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm like, I don't think so, guys. And making rapper know I had the photo, and she was like this. We know what happened. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:28]: But I caught a snippet of her speech today at the Canyon of Heroes, and She's like, we're straight, we're gay, we're black, we're white. We're all these things. And that's that's what this is about. That's what this is about. Right? Tiff [00:29:43]: And she was talking about equal pay. So Reginald Ferguson [00:29:46]: Absolutely. Which I'm totally down for. Yep. And you know who else is? Snoop Dogg. Tiff [00:29:51]: I think we're all down, but Reginald Ferguson [00:29:52]: you said No. No. No. But if you saw the video Tiff [00:29:54]: No. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:54]: He's down. Yeah. He's totally down. Tiff [00:29:56]: Alright. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:56]: It's Snoop Dogg approved. Tiff [00:29:57]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:58]: Yeah. Yeah. That's absolutely ridiculous. I'm a big sports fan. I watch this thing. Now I'm not claiming that I watch all the women's games. No. I follow them? Absolutely. Tiff [00:30:06]: I was so impressed to see that you were following it. Reginald Ferguson [00:30:08]: Absolutely. No. I love soccer. So I'm Tiff [00:30:10]: not into soccer, so I Reginald Ferguson [00:30:11]: Back to back? I don't care who you are. I don't care what you look like. The mental toughness, it takes so much to do that. Tiff [00:30:21]: Wow. First of all, the game is exhausting because you're running back and forth, back and forth. This very long Reginald Ferguson [00:30:26]: That's why it's that's why it's of all. Right. That's why it's a great Sport. I mean, I'm biased. I played it growing up. So understand this. Those ladies have actually worked harder than the men because our men Preach. Are whack. Reginald Ferguson [00:30:45]: Yeah. Tiff [00:30:45]: They're not so good. No. They need a little bit more support. Reginald Ferguson [00:30:49]: They need a lot of everything. So they shouldn't be clocking those type of dollars because they're whack. Ladies need to ladies need to get their paper. Tiff [00:30:59]: They do. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:00]: Get the bag, ladies. Tiff [00:31:01]: Because they are representing the USA in the best way possible. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:04]: Get the bag, ladies. Get it? Absolutely. Tiff [00:31:07]: What he said. Let's talk about some men. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:12]: Oh, yes. You mean fashion fools? Fashion fools. Tiff [00:31:26]: The next segment we have up for you again is fashion fools because it is funny. Impop. Foolish doings in the wild world of fashion. Yeah. Tiff [00:31:36]: So what Tiff [00:31:37]: we got today, Reg? Who's our fashion fool? What's the fashion fool? What's foolish happening in the world? Reginald Ferguson [00:31:42]: Guys still rocking rompers. Freaking hate this. Tiff [00:31:48]: I'm giggling because Reginald Ferguson [00:31:50]: Yes. You're all pink and joyful. Tiff [00:31:52]: Because Why? I remember when this came out. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:56]: And this was a thing. Tiff [00:31:57]: And it wasn't too long ago when the romper came out. Or The romper. Or the romp him. Not the romper, but the romp him came out. That's the technically, it was called the romp him, and it came out on Kickstarter as a campaign in 2017. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:16]: Did not know that. Tiff [00:32:17]: And I was like And Reginald Ferguson [00:32:18]: I'm glad about that. Tiff [00:32:19]: No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Tiff [00:32:20]: No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Tiff [00:32:21]: No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Tiff [00:32:21]: No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. Tiff [00:32:21]: No. Tiff [00:32:21]: No. No. No. No. No. No. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:25]: Oh, yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Because remember that was the biggest thing on social media. Tiff [00:32:31]: Oh my god. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:31]: Oh my god. That's right. Tiff [00:32:33]: It was An atrocity. I have to tell you, though. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:35]: Please tell me. Tiff [00:32:37]: Esquire, Impop. GQ. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:39]: My Magazine. Tiff [00:32:40]: And even the Times. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:42]: MyPaper. Tiff [00:32:43]: Loved it. They loved it. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:44]: I don't understand. Yeah. I don't understand. Tiff [00:32:48]: So, Rich, what are we talking about here? The romper for him. The romper. The romp him. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:55]: I haven't heard these other iterations. I just heard Tiff [00:32:57]: romp. Hysterical. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:59]: Well, the outfit is hysterical. Tiff [00:33:01]: Yes. It's a 1 pacer. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:03]: That's ridiculous. Tiff [00:33:04]: And it's short. It's not even long like your like your mechanic's jumpsuit. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:09]: Oh, I have a jumpsuit. I'm all down for a jumpsuit. Tiff [00:33:12]: You have a jumpsuit? Reginald Ferguson [00:33:13]: Absolutely. Tiff [00:33:14]: Like a like a jumpsuit like you wear out? Hell yeah. Full length jumpsuit? Yes. Okay. Do you wear do you wear a tie with that? No. Alright. I don't understand what's happening here right now. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:29]: I have a jumpsuit. Every man should have a jumpsuit in his wardrobe. Why? Because it's fly. Tiff [00:33:35]: Search, do you have a jumpsuit? No. Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:38]: He's not really the target. Oh. He's he's strictly poet Ralph Lauren. If Ralph Lauren had a jumpsuit Tiff [00:33:44]: You think Sartre would buy it? Reginald Ferguson [00:33:45]: Yes. He'd have it In his closet. Absolutely. Particularly particularly if it had the polo bear on the back. Tiff [00:33:54]: Oh, Then it might look like a pair of pajamas, if you ask me. No. A union jack suit. That's what I think of when I think of a full jumpsuit. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:02]: The last time I had that short thing that you said, I was a toddler. Tiff [00:34:07]: Right? Reginald Ferguson [00:34:07]: Exactly. A romper. Yes. Tiff [00:34:09]: I have a romper Because it's a romper. Because women wear rompers. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:15]: We Okay. Tiff [00:34:16]: We wear rompers. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:18]: Right. Tiff [00:34:19]: And and even it's difficult to wear rompers. You gotta take the whole thing off to go to the bathroom. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:24]: By the way, big shout out to Dickies. I have a Dickies jumpsuit. Tiff [00:34:27]: Dickies, jumpsuit. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:29]: Oh, yeah. Black. It's dope. Tiff [00:34:32]: When do you wear it? For what occasion? Reginald Ferguson [00:34:34]: When I'm hanging out, Generally, during the warm weather, though I have worn it in cold weather, but it's really a no. That's not true. I've always wore it during the warm weather. Tiff [00:34:43]: Do you step out in it, or you do keep it quietly at home? Reginald Ferguson [00:34:45]: Pop. Go outside with it. It's on my Insta. Tiff [00:34:48]: I am going to Reginald Ferguson [00:34:49]: New York fashion geek. Tiff [00:34:50]: I'm gonna scroll back Reginald Ferguson [00:34:51]: and take a look. Scroll down. Scroll down. Tiff [00:34:53]: I cannot believe it. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:54]: Scroll down. I'll even tell you how I rock Would you like to know? Tiff [00:34:57]: Yes. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:59]: T shirt layer, always a graphic tee. I zip Oh. It down. Tiff [00:35:06]: It has a zipper. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:07]: Yes. Yeah. I zip it down to around my chest, Impop. Middle there. Tiff [00:35:13]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:14]: And I usually rock it with some sneaks. Tiff [00:35:16]: Oh, you oh, what? You wear sneakers? Reginald Ferguson [00:35:18]: Yeah. Oh, I could wear my clogs. I used to rock clogs with it. What? Tiff [00:35:25]: I'm just totally I'm learning a new regs, like, in all these years, and I just I, You know? Reginald Ferguson [00:35:31]: The legend grows. Tiff [00:35:32]: It sure does. So what you gotta jumps what's wrong with the romper then? Reginald Ferguson [00:35:36]: It's just a Tiff [00:35:37]: it's a short. Impair shorts. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:39]: Everything. You know what I mean? You know what it is? No. No. It's not a shorter iteration. It's this ridiculous thing that came out of nowhere. Let me explain to you why I don't like it. First of all, Every time I see a guy wear it, it's tight. I do not even understand that. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:55]: It's tight. Impa. Come on, guys. Tiff [00:35:58]: Meaning they need to drop the crotch a little bit. That kinda tight, you mean? Reginald Ferguson [00:36:02]: Yeah. It's just everything is tight on it, Really, top to bottom. I'm just like, come on. Tiff [00:36:06]: Then they're not purchasing the right size because, apparently, comfortable romper is purchased with a little bit of drop in the crotch. You gotta have room. So and I I I this is what the article said. This is what the Reginald Ferguson [00:36:20]: whole 1 piece thing is ridiculous. To be honest with you, if it was 2 pieces, I'd be more tolerable. Tiff [00:36:26]: It wouldn't be a a romper then. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:28]: Well, there you go. Tiff [00:36:29]: It'll be a shirt and shorts. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:30]: Well, there you go. Tiff [00:36:33]: So you see no Reginald Ferguson [00:36:34]: My point exactly. Tiff [00:36:35]: No benefit to the romping. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:36]: I see no redeeming quality To this aberration of an outfit. Tiff [00:36:43]: Well, I gotta tell you. So when this came out, Esquire put the the braumper to the test. And pop. And, you I found this article online. You can go you can find it, by googling Esquire Bro Romper Test in real life. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:57]: The grade should've been an f. Tiff [00:36:59]: So they basically, Esquire grabbed 5 everyday guys, normal everyday Impossibilities. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:04]: I'm just an everyday guy. Tiff [00:37:06]: To test drive, the the bro romper. And go read this article. It's hysterical. They were doing it. I think they were heading into Central Park. So they had to put it on and wear it in a public space, and then they had to report back, what people were saying Reginald Ferguson [00:37:22]: to them. And And the death threats they received. Tiff [00:37:25]: No. It was overheard. And some of the comments in that article of what people said when they saw these guys in these rompers is hysterical. It's worth the read. Check it out. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:35]: Do you have at least 1 quote? Because you seem all geeks. You seem Tiff [00:37:39]: I I can look on my Reginald Ferguson [00:37:40]: No. No. No. We don't have that time. Tiff [00:37:43]: No. We do. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:44]: No. We don't. Tiff [00:37:45]: Just do you know, give me some time. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:47]: Give me give me Alright. I'll just keep on talking. Impop. So no. I don't I don't like this thing at all. I'm never going to like it. Tiff [00:37:55]: But I know you have a jumper. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:57]: No. I have a jumpsuit. Tiff [00:37:59]: Impop. It's the same thing. Jumpers jumpsuit. It's the same thing. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:02]: Should have a jumpsuit. Tiff [00:38:05]: Alright. It's amazing. I would say yes if you're gonna painting anything. You should absolutely Reginald Ferguson [00:38:09]: do it. Not in Gasoline Alley. Tiff [00:38:13]: One of the favorite quotes at the bottom of the article, Somebody said, into cell phone. Oh my god. They're having a effing photo shoot with guys in effing rompers. Tiff [00:38:28]: And pop. I'm dead. I'm effing dead. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:28]: Well said, sir. Well said. Tiff [00:38:33]: Anyway And there there is the death to the romper. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:37]: Ladies and gentlemen, and particularly men, you become our customer. We are not looking for rompers. Tiff [00:38:43]: Alright. Duly noted. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:45]: Yeah. Tiff [00:38:45]: Moving on to something that brings much more joy And pop. To our fashion geek number 1, Reg. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:51]: Absolutely. I must have it. I must have it. Tiff [00:39:05]: Nice. Reg. Yes. What is our I must have it item for today? Reginald Ferguson [00:39:12]: A Santos de Cartier watch. Nice. I try. Tiff [00:39:19]: Now let me point out. This for the everyday man Reginald Ferguson [00:39:23]: Yes. Tiff [00:39:24]: Impop. You still say this is a I must have it item. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:28]: Yes. Tiff [00:39:29]: Alright. Let's talk about it. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:31]: Sure. Why? Why not? It's a beautiful piece of time reading machinery. Tiff [00:39:39]: It's gorgeous. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:40]: I know. That's why I selected it. I like it because I think it accomplishes 2 things simultaneously. It's tough, yet it's soft. Tiff [00:39:54]: K? You mean the look of it? Reginald Ferguson [00:39:56]: Yes. Tiff [00:39:57]: Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:57]: Yes. Tiff [00:39:58]: Not like you can bang it up against a wall. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:59]: No. No. No. No. And, ultimately, it's sophisticated. Tiff [00:40:03]: Yes. I would agree. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:04]: Thank you. Tiff [00:40:05]: I love the clean lines of this watch, the sleekness. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:10]: It's beautiful. I love the lugs. Tiff [00:40:14]: The the screws. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:14]: The screws. Tiff [00:40:15]: The exposed screw heads. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:16]: Yeah. I like that. Tiff [00:40:17]: And it says nothing says Cartier like the exposed screw heads. Right? Reginald Ferguson [00:40:21]: I mean You know better than I. Tiff [00:40:24]: Cartier bracelets. I've seen you know, a lot of women wear the Cartier, and it's that screw head that that that's really that's what that's their trademark. And the Roman numerals on the face of this watch. So I did a little research. There's 24 models of this type of watch. Wow. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:41]: Ow. I did not know that. Tiff [00:40:42]: Yes. 24 miles. Smokes. So I wanted to know which model you want. Do you want the $6,250 Entry level model. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:50]: A mere bag of shells. Tiff [00:40:51]: Or do you wanna go all out and get the $63,500 And pop. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:59]: Looker. I'm not ostentatious. I'm a simple man. Six g's. Tiff [00:41:05]: Okay. Alright. And that model is steel. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:08]: Yes. Stainless steel. Tiff [00:41:10]: White gold, and it comes with interchangeable, wrist, Like the either a leather strap Reginald Ferguson [00:41:17]: Right. Tiff [00:41:17]: Or the metal strap. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:18]: Metal. Tiff [00:41:19]: And, it's very simple, very elegant, like the Roman numerals in the face. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:23]: Just like me. Tiff [00:41:24]: The the lug the heads. You call them lug, the the screw heads around it. Square shapes Reginald Ferguson [00:41:30]: Yes. Tiff [00:41:30]: With soft edges. Very simple. It's pretty. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:34]: I love it. Tiff [00:41:35]: It's expensive and, you know, yeah, you you buy this at a young age, that'll be a great investment. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:41]: And then you pass it on. Tiff [00:41:42]: Then you pass it on. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:43]: Absolutely. Simplicity is a new sophistication. Tiff [00:41:46]: So you wanna know a little history about this watch? Reginald Ferguson [00:41:48]: Yes, please. Tiff [00:41:49]: So First of all, this was, the 1st wristwatch ever made. What? Yep. The 1st wristwatch ever made. Reginald Ferguson [00:42:00]: I I did not know that. Tiff [00:42:01]: Yes. And it was made because it was the brilliant watchmaker, Louis Cartier, grandson to the founder of the Cartier company, developed the iconic Santos in 1904. And he did it because his friend, Brazilian aviator, Alberto Santos Dumas. So you got the Santos, and there's also another Cartier model called Santos Dumont. That's another different type of watch. In pop. He he's a an aviator, and he wanted a watch that he could look at as he was flying because he couldn't really put his hand in his pocket and pull out his pocket watch. So he wanted something I don't know if he came up with the idea of it being on his wrist or whether Cartier did, but that's what happened. Tiff [00:42:43]: The collabo between the 2 of them In 190 4, it was released. The timepiece was considered revolutionary since it was secured to the wrist by a leather bracelet and worn on a daily basis. So Wow. Isn't that something? Reginald Ferguson [00:42:58]: I had no idea. Tiff [00:43:00]: And they say that this watch helped this watch helped And pop. Alberto Santos Dumont, successfully achieve a personal flight record in 1906 of 220 meters over the duration of 21 seconds. Wow. I guess he was able to look at his watch and time it. Now Cartier had been doing watches prior to this, but they were elaborate bracelet, type things for ladies. They're ornate bracelets. So this was the 1st men's wristwatch. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:30]: Had no idea. Yeah. That's slick. Tiff [00:43:32]: Impop. I thought that's why, you know, you were like, this is must have because it has this kinda history. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:37]: No. It's it's a must have because it's just beautiful. Tiff [00:43:40]: It's beautiful. Everybody should Check it out. Go to the Cartier website, and just, you can Google. Just Google the the, Santos de Cartier, and you'll see all 24 models, you can pick the one you want. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:55]: I like that. Can't wait. Christmas is coming. Tiff [00:43:58]: I have a picture of it right here. It's so simple. That's what makes it so elegant. I think it's the simplicity is in the very few specific details. Oh, and it's also quartz Or, what is the other one? Very important. Very important. Quartz or self winding movement. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:15]: Oh, I didn't know that. Tiff [00:44:16]: Yep. Wow. And you can opt. I guess the $63,000 one is the one encrusted in diamonds if you wanna be that showy. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:24]: I'm not that guy. Tiff [00:44:24]: Yeah. That's got One is Crested Tiff [00:44:26]: and Diamonds. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:26]: Yes. That's bling. Tiff [00:44:28]: That is bling. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:29]: I'm not that dude. Tiff [00:44:32]: So that's a nice pick. Nice pick, Reg. I I can't wait to see yours. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:36]: Me either. Wow. I dream. Let's segue to fashion word of the day. Tiff [00:44:45]: Alright. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:52]: Fashion word of the day. Tiff [00:44:57]: And I am prepared. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:59]: Of course. With a stack of words, though you only need 1. Tiff [00:45:02]: Not a stack. Just a page. Tiff [00:45:05]: Just a page. Reginald Ferguson [00:45:06]: Just a page. Tiff [00:45:07]: I like having choices. So we are here with fashion word of the day where Reg and I bring each bring a word to challenge each other with, to spell it, define it. And these are fashion terms, by the way, menswear fashion terms. And if we, spell and define it correctly, we use it in a sentence because it's fun. Reginald Ferguson [00:45:26]: Yes. So much fun. Tiff [00:45:30]: Stop. Alright, Reg. Why don't you go first? Reginald Ferguson [00:45:32]: No. No. You go first. Really? Yes. Ladies first. Tiff [00:45:36]: Alright. What am I gonna hit you with today? Reginald Ferguson [00:45:38]: I don't know. Probably be hard. The last one was hard. But I don't understand this. You don't need to bring a word. Tiff [00:45:46]: Half lining. Reginald Ferguson [00:45:48]: Well, I know how to spell it. It's h a l f. Obviously, you could put a hyphen. Lining, l I n I n g. Tiff [00:45:57]: Ding ding ding ding ding ding ding. Well done. Reginald Ferguson [00:45:59]: Yeah. But here comes here comes the buzzer for the definition. I mean, first of all, you can't use the word you can't use the word in the in the definition. So Yipes. It's it's material, whether it's silk, gray on, Bemberg, which Covers from the shoulder to to the middle of the back for spring and summer jackets. Tiff [00:46:27]: Impop. Oh, yeah. Really? Reg. Very nice. Reginald Ferguson [00:46:30]: Oh. Tiff [00:46:31]: A half lined jacket is lined on the top half and sleeve, but the bottom half is not lined, and the seams are taped for a clean finish. Half lined is usually done on jackets with lightweight fabric. Hello, seersucker. Yep. So the lining doesn't add weight to the jacket. Well done. Wow. Reginald Ferguson [00:46:48]: I pulled that out of my beep. Tiff [00:46:49]: You did it. You you, it was beautiful washing the face. Contort? Yeah. You're, like, you're literally with your face Pulling it out of wherever you pull it out of. Reginald Ferguson [00:46:58]: I'm known it to be animated. So Tiff [00:47:00]: It's well done. You wanna use it in a sentence? Reginald Ferguson [00:47:03]: Sure. I am not certain if my seersucker jacket is half lined. I'll have to check. I think it isn't. Tiff [00:47:10]: No? No money whatsoever. Reginald Ferguson [00:47:12]: No. No. I think I have a full lining, because I'm that guy. Yeah. Alright. So that's what I think. Tiff [00:47:18]: Alright. Well done. Well done. Alright. Hopefully, I had the same success. Great. Reginald Ferguson [00:47:23]: Loafer. Tiff [00:47:24]: Loafer. We're not talking about a person here. No. Loafer is a style of Oh, uh-uh. Oh. Oh, sorry. Oh, Loafer. L o Reginald Ferguson [00:47:33]: your own rules. Tiff [00:47:34]: L o a f e r. Loafer. Did I get it right? Reginald Ferguson [00:47:38]: Yes. Tiff [00:47:39]: It's a Impop.
