Tiff [00:02:25]: Nice shoes. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:26]: That's really your thing. I mean, I do have a new pair of Chelsea Tiff [00:02:30]: boots. Oh, Nice. Yes. You put the old ones to bed. What'd you do Reginald Ferguson [00:02:36]: with them? I gave the old ones to the Bowery Tiff [00:02:38]: Mission. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:39]: Very nice. I actually So what have I done? I gave away 3 bags of Tiff [00:02:44]: clothing. What? 3 are we talking, like, garbage bags? Reginald Ferguson [00:02:47]: 3 to 4 bags. No. Not garbage bags. But Tiff [00:02:49]: Shopping bags. Reginald Ferguson [00:02:50]: Yeah. Shopping bags, plastic bags. And big shout out to the friend of the NYFG, Tony Harris. K. Put the bags in his ride. Nice. Drove up to the Bowery Mission. I always call them ahead of time, let them know I'm coming. Tiff [00:03:08]: That's Reginald Ferguson [00:03:08]: good. Welled up into the spot, and they were really appreciative. Tiff [00:03:13]: I bet they were. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:14]: Now I wanna let you know, Gentlemen, when you become a client, when we do the closet inventory, the stuff you don't need is going to the Bowery Mission. Tiff [00:03:24]: So you're not just throwing it out. You're actually giving it a second life. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:27]: You're giving it a Tiff [00:03:28]: purpose. Boom. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:29]: And that's really important. Altruism is Tiff [00:03:31]: important. Yes. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:33]: And you could do what you want. You're grown. I never and I think my boy, Tony Harris, did not like this. I never take a receipt from them. Oh. Because if you want to, when you give away clothing, You could write it off. Tiff [00:03:49]: Right? That's exactly right. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:51]: I refuse to. Tiff [00:03:52]: I don't either. I I do it out of, like, I don't have time for this. Just take it. Reginald Ferguson [00:03:57]: I mean, I have time for it. I just have no Tiff [00:04:01]: interest. It certainly does. I agree. Right. Right. But I would say Reginald Ferguson [00:04:16]: I guess I am. So that's why he was like, do you wanna I said no. And it seemed like he was even more appreciative of that, maybe to search his point. And gave me the brother shake, Impa gave each other a hug. And in a year or so from now, I'll be giving more stuff away. Tiff [00:04:36]: I have a year or so. Reginald Ferguson [00:04:40]: It's not like every few weeks I have stuff to give away. Tiff [00:04:43]: You don't do seasonal when you change out your closets? You don't like you know? Because I recently changed out my closet, and that's And pop. When I that's when I purge. When I change like, I I bring those buckets up from downstairs. Get on my Buckets? Yeah. I got those big old Classic. But I got a little war I have a tiny New York apartment. I have a wardrobe, freestanding wardrobe, and that's it. Reginald Ferguson [00:05:04]: I know. I'm laughing because I have an embarrassment to riches when it comes to closets. Do. Alright. Stop. Tiff [00:05:08]: Upsetting. You have more closet space for you than I have in my whole entire apartment. Okay. It's, like, unbelievable. But anyway, yes, I live out of buckets, from time to time. Unbelievable. Impop. I did bring my fall and winter wardrobe up from the basement. Tiff [00:05:27]: Oh, yeah. And I was pulling stuff out and just kinda it's kinda like shopping. I had forgotten what I had. You know what I'm saying? Reginald Ferguson [00:05:33]: Okay. That's Tiff [00:05:33]: bad. Well, because I buy stuff on sale at end of season, and I put it in that bucket when I'm packing Reginald Ferguson [00:05:38]: up. Bucket. Tiff [00:05:39]: And pop. And then when I open it up for the next fall winter, boom, I got some new stuff Reginald Ferguson [00:05:45]: that I had forgotten all about. Is the bucket Tiff [00:05:47]: labeled Tiffany's Findings? No. No. It's No. Reginald Ferguson [00:05:50]: Tiffany's Tiff [00:05:50]: treasures. No. No label. It's it's it's the blue bottom and a white top. It's just it Reginald Ferguson [00:05:56]: It's the sales stuff. Tiff [00:05:59]: And it's not all sales. Some of it is like, I must have it, and I'm going to pay whatever I have to to have it. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:04]: Oh, alright. Tiff [00:06:06]: And pop. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:06]: So This is hilarious. Tiff [00:06:08]: But it's like shopping without spending money because I've already spent the money. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:10]: No. I I hear people talk about this all the time. Yeah. I didn't realize I had Tiff [00:06:14]: this. Yeah. Because when you have to pack stuff away because you only have 1 tiny little closet in your apartment to put stuff in. I mean, I even have some clothes in the front in the living room closet that's Got the dry the the vacuum cleaner in it and the an upholstery cleaner. I put up a rod or 2 in there just so that I could and it's got our coats as well. And pop. But I squeeze some some room for my my purses and my off season, you know, nice shirts and stuff like that that I didn't wanna put in a bucket. And pop. Tiff [00:06:43]: But, yeah, I've got, like, 2 buckets I change out every season. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:46]: I'm sorry. Tiff [00:06:47]: And funny enough, I purge. I give away. I'm like, I'm not gonna wear that anymore. And pop. But by the end of the winter fall season, I've purchased more stuff, so the bucket never diminishes. Reginald Ferguson [00:06:59]: It's an it's a ever giving Tiff [00:07:01]: bucket. I love my buckets. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:04]: I can't even imagine this, ladies and gentlemen. Can you Tiff [00:07:07]: Yo. This is the plight of the everyday woman. Okay? That's all I'm saying. Alright. And I get you I bet you Reginald Ferguson [00:07:13]: Well said. Tiff [00:07:14]: Some everyday men out there who also have buckets or under bed bins. You know? Bins, buckets, same thing. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:22]: I guess. Tiff [00:07:26]: And pop But, anyway, yeah, that was what I did. It takes a long time. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:27]: Very nice. No. I understand. I understand. Well, I'm keeping it moving. Tiff [00:07:32]: Let's do it. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:33]: I got a fashion hero. Fashion. Fashion. Tiff [00:07:42]: Imposterous. I'm ready to go. I got my sneakers and my running sneakers on. Let's do it. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:46]: Oh, yeah. I'm gonna have you running Tiff [00:07:47]: on this. We don't run. Reginald Ferguson [00:07:49]: Do you know who my fashion hero is Tiff [00:07:51]: this week? No. Who is your fashion hero for this episode? Reginald Ferguson [00:07:56]: Swatch. Tiff [00:07:59]: That's swatch as in as in watch? Reginald Ferguson [00:08:02]: Yeah. As my grandparents would say, swatch watch. And Tiff [00:08:07]: pop That's redundant. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:09]: No. It's Tiff [00:08:10]: not. Spot watch. Okay. So it's watched on a person. So Reginald Ferguson [00:08:15]: No. What? It's it's, it's a brand. Tiff [00:08:19]: Okay. So that's your fashion hero. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:21]: Yes. A brand can be a fashion hero. Tiff [00:08:22]: Oh, okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:24]: Absolutely. You you guys talked about Polo Ralph Lauren? Tiff [00:08:28]: Well, he was a guy. Yeah. Yeah. I remember you were in the conversation. Thank you. Reginald Ferguson [00:08:33]: Yeah. But that was TIFF Takeover search, so that was her episode to run. Tiff [00:08:40]: Okay. So Swatch. I know Swatch. I know Swatch from my high Reginald Ferguson [00:08:44]: school days. Okay. Tiff [00:08:45]: Impop. My high school days, yeah. Swatch was a must have, but I didn't get it. I think I maybe had 1 swatch, and I'm like, yeah. What? Yeah. One swatch? Because I was like, why don't I want this plastic watch on Reginald Ferguson [00:08:57]: my arm? Why not? Okay. No. No. No. No. No. Yeah. I'm taking over my own episode. Tiff [00:09:03]: Okay? That was me back in the day. Just mind you. Go ahead. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:07]: Fine. I'm gonna let you know how I was back in the day. When When I was a little kid, I learned how to tell time. There was only 1 thing I wanted. Tiff [00:09:16]: A Swatch watch? No. A watch. Oh. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:20]: And not just any watch. Tiff [00:09:21]: A watch. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:22]: Yeah. And not just any watch. Oh? A Mickey Mouse watch. Nice. Absolutely. Classic. Oh my gosh. Tiff [00:09:30]: I can actually picture that. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:32]: Oh, yeah. I could picture it too, but I beg my mom for 1. No dice. Tiff [00:09:37]: You didn't get it. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:38]: Nope. Oh. My grandparents, nothing doing. I'm sure I leaked it out to other relatives and friends of the family. Not in a 1000000 years. Tiff [00:09:48]: Nobody was helping you out. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:50]: No. So I settled for a sensible watch. Tiff [00:09:52]: What did you get? Reginald Ferguson [00:09:53]: Timex for Tiff [00:09:53]: a second. I knew it was a Timex. I had a Timex. Reginald Ferguson [00:09:57]: Yeah. Nothing wrong with it. Nope. Told time. Told time. Casio for a couple of years, A Seiko for a Tiff [00:10:04]: second. All all with the arms, or did you go Reginald Ferguson [00:10:07]: digital? No. Both. Yeah. I'm proud of good at my times. So Tiff [00:10:10]: I'm old school. I'm arms only. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:12]: You've never had a digital watch? Tiff [00:10:14]: Never ever had a digital watch. I have a digital alarm clock now, Reginald Ferguson [00:10:18]: but I never had a digital watch. Tiff [00:10:20]: You've never had a digital watch. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:21]: I had a badass Casio runner's watch. Does anyone remember this? Tiff [00:10:27]: Nope. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:28]: You could pace your timing by your strides, And when you'd run, a little man would run with Tiff [00:10:34]: you. You are a runner? Reginald Ferguson [00:10:36]: Else yeah. Oh. Yeah. Good to know. Long distance. Long. LCD. Yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:40]: LCD display. Miler. Ding ding. The man. Tiff [00:10:45]: Did you see that little man running alongside? Reginald Ferguson [00:10:47]: Oh, it was so cool. So I'm I'm not gonna lie about that. I loved all that. I had good Tiff [00:10:52]: watches. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:52]: Okay. Because I come from a good family. They told time. Tiff [00:10:58]: One would hope. Reginald Ferguson [00:10:59]: I was never late. No CPT. Tiff [00:11:03]: Okay. Well, I don't know what CPT is. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:04]: Well, my producer does. See And probably some of our Tiff [00:11:08]: listeners. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:08]: Okay. My grandpa let me take out his pocket watch for a spin every once in a while. But to be honest, for me, it just wasn't that practical, and I was afraid I was gonna break Tiff [00:11:18]: it. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:19]: Yeah. And I actually have it now, and then I'm about to I've been looking, everybody. I've been looking at some chains. Tiff [00:11:27]: Nice, Reg. Do it. Do it. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:29]: Do it. Tiff [00:11:29]: Oh, yeah. Go there. You need to go there. Pop. Yeah. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:32]: I know. I Tiff [00:11:33]: know. Break it out, baby. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:34]: Yeah. I think my grandpa would be proud. Tiff [00:11:36]: Yeah. I think so too. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:37]: So and, again, I liked all of my watches. I mean, I loved my watches, And then swatch came out. Everything changed. Tiff [00:11:49]: Okay. That's plastic. Reginald Ferguson [00:11:52]: Hey. That's not actually, that's not altogether true. Okay. Hater. The eighties brought along a lot of cool things y'all. Like, Rubik's cubes. Had one. Big shout out to my my best friend of all time, Daryl Walker, who could do that like this. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:10]: I can only get, like, one side. Tiff [00:12:12]: I solved it once, and I never did it again. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:14]: Oh, no. This guy would do it like Like clockwork. And then he was one he was one of those experts. He'd take it apart, grease it up, make it Impop spin What? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My god. It was the truth. Tiff [00:12:28]: Never seen that before. Pac Man. Played it. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:32]: Also shout out to my best friend, Daryl Walker, who was a wizard that, I was not. And Swatch. They were the 1st watchmaker that I ever saw that marketed their products as fun, cheap, and colorful. Tiff [00:12:45]: Mhmm. That they did. Reginald Ferguson [00:12:47]: See? See? You only had 1. I was a little kid in school when they came out. Never saw anything like it. Yes. They were plastic, but they had cool designs. Tiff [00:13:01]: Yes. That is so true. Very true. Yes. I'll give it that Reginald Ferguson [00:13:04]: for sure. And a spectrum of colors. I had to get 1. Tiff [00:13:09]: Just 1? Reginald Ferguson [00:13:10]: Well, I started with 1. Okay. So I saved up my pennies, And I got a clear Tiff [00:13:16]: joint. Now was that the very first model, Reginald Ferguson [00:13:19]: clear joint? Yes. The clear well, yes. My very first model. Do you remember? It was clear band, And that would yell over time, and a open clear face that show the workings of the watch. Tiff [00:13:30]: I do That was pop ups. Remember that. Oh my god. I totally re See? That was cool. When you Reginald Ferguson [00:13:37]: Yeah. Because I was Tiff [00:13:37]: cool. The innards of the watch. Reginald Ferguson [00:13:39]: I like that. Tiff [00:13:39]: I like that a Reginald Ferguson [00:13:40]: lot. I loved it. No one else had it. Award all the time. Swatch tied in seamlessly with the MTV era because their commercials are like videos. Tiff [00:13:52]: Yeah. They did. And that's the thing I read about them. They did a huge marketing campaign. They were everywhere. Reginald Ferguson [00:13:58]: That was really smart because in turn, it targeted 2 types of kids, the new waveers and the hip poppers. Mhmm. And musically, I rolled in both circles. And both groups of friends were rocking them. Tiff [00:14:12]: Everybody was Reginald Ferguson [00:14:12]: rocking them. Absolutely. I went to school with a girl. Her name was Mary Anne, and she had 2 swatches. Tiff [00:14:18]: On at the same Reginald Ferguson [00:14:18]: time? Tiff [00:14:19]: Yes. Yes. They were totally doing Reginald Ferguson [00:14:21]: that. Tiff [00:14:21]: Yes. With the Madonna pants. With the Reginald Ferguson [00:14:22]: Madonna pants. And pop Tiff [00:14:24]: Yes. Come Reginald Ferguson [00:14:25]: on. I I lost my Tiff [00:14:26]: mind. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:27]: Yep. I had to get another one. Oh. And I did. Yes. Tiff [00:14:30]: You do 2 at a time. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:31]: I did. I did. I rocked them side by side on the same wrist. Tiff [00:14:35]: Oh my god. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:35]: I was in heaven. And then I did 1 on the top, 1 on the bottom. Tiff [00:14:38]: Impop. This takes me back Reginald Ferguson [00:14:40]: yes. See? See? See? Do you understand why? Yeah. Come Tiff [00:14:45]: on. It's brilliance, actually. Reginald Ferguson [00:14:47]: Getting back to MTV. Swatch was smart with having commercials with music artists. I don't know if you remember that. But do you remember do you remember the Fat Boys? Disco 3, those who know. Remember that Swatch commercial? No. Swatch them. Swatch them. It was crazy. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:05]: They're They're one of the reasons I got a Swatch. Okay. And they're one of my favorite groups Tiff [00:15:08]: Alright. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:09]: Back in the day. Freaking love the disco three. Swatch position themselves as a fashion accessory, and that's what a watch already is, but they made it fun. You remember Swatch Guard, Tiffany? Tiff [00:15:23]: Swatch Guard. Oh, yeah. The the thing that go over. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:26]: You protect Tiff [00:15:26]: the face. Yes. Like little rubber bands on your Swatch. Yes. Oh my god. I totally remember that. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:32]: God. Yeah. You remember pop swatch? Tiff [00:15:38]: You got me there. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:39]: A detachable swatch? Tiff [00:15:40]: Detachable. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:41]: Yeah. You detached it. It was big. It was big like this. It was big like Tiff [00:15:44]: a The face? Reginald Ferguson [00:15:45]: You touched it. Silver dollar. You Yeah. And you could take it off. Like, you could wear it on your wrist. It was gigantic. Right? Or you could take it off, put on your clothing, wear it around your neck. Tiff [00:15:54]: No. I woulda loved that. Reginald Ferguson [00:15:56]: Well, you shoulda got one. Go back in time. Tiff [00:15:59]: I maybe they still have it. Reginald Ferguson [00:16:01]: Oh, no. They Tiff [00:16:01]: do. They probably do. Reginald Ferguson [00:16:02]: No. They do. They definitely do. When I first bought a swatch, You had mentioned the store earlier. I went to Macy's. Tiff [00:16:11]: Macy's got everything. Reginald Ferguson [00:16:13]: But then they created Swatch stores. Remember that? That was in totally remember that. A whole store dedicated to swatch. Swatches, and I Come on. Tiff [00:16:24]: And I remember going, my god. Wow. Come on. That many swatches out there that we can have our Reginald Ferguson [00:16:29]: own your own store? Tiff [00:16:31]: Yep. I do remember that. That was a boom boom boom in the late eighties. Reginald Ferguson [00:16:35]: Right. Eighties, nineties. Tiff [00:16:36]: Remember Reginald Ferguson [00:16:37]: that. Keith Haran's watches Yep. Worth 1,000 of dollars now if you have a Tiff [00:16:42]: yes. Uh-oh. Do we have a do we have any of those in anybody's Reginald Ferguson [00:16:46]: pockets? No. I do not. But I, actually, I knew someone Who met Keith Haring, and Keith Haring with a magic marker tagged up my boy, Anthony Sejes. I have not seen him in decades. And tagged on Anthony Sejes' watch. On his swatch. Wow. I I hope he still Tiff [00:17:05]: has it. Right? Where's the moola? Absolutely. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:08]: I have a swatch that I bought in Switzerland because they were Tiff [00:17:12]: Swiss. You absolutely went to Switzerland and got a swatch? Absolutely. How brilliant. Homegrown. Yes. Impop. From the source. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:19]: And it reads, Brooklyn. That was intentional, y'all. It's got a cab going up the Brooklyn Bridge. Tiff [00:17:26]: Impa. Oh, that's Reginald Ferguson [00:17:27]: Still have it in the case. That's Never have worn it. Tiff [00:17:29]: You've never worn it? Nope. Okay. That's a little Reginald Ferguson [00:17:32]: Trying to get some money. Tiff [00:17:34]: Alright. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:35]: You said they're all plastic. Incorrect? Alright. The irony Tiff [00:17:40]: collection. Is all metal. I read about that. Yeah. They do have read about it. I mean, come on. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:45]: Well I have 1. Tiff [00:17:46]: You have a metal watch. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:47]: I'm sure. I have a I have a irony. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Alright. Alright. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:51]: Yeah. Tiff [00:17:52]: So they do make real watches. Reginald Ferguson [00:17:55]: All their watches are real, hater. My first chronograph was by Swatch. What about Swat Skin? The thin Tiff [00:18:05]: joints. Yep. The thinnest watch ever made. They set a Reginald Ferguson [00:18:08]: record. A record. Tiff [00:18:09]: Yes. Exactly. Did they ever do digital? Reginald Ferguson [00:18:13]: I don't recall that. Okay. I don't recall. So. One major issue was Swatch back in the day, The buckle tongue. Tiff [00:18:24]: Man What what happened with the buckle tongue? Reginald Ferguson [00:18:26]: If you had one long enough, and I did, it would break. Yep. Yeah. So as a result, you just put the band through the loops, cross your fingers, hope for the best. Oh. Except when you're at the club. Tiff [00:18:39]: And? Then you take it off. Reginald Ferguson [00:18:40]: Well, I was no. No. Not take it off. Pop oat. This is part of my steez. Tiff [00:18:45]: Well, you gotta you gotta keep it from falling on the floor Reginald Ferguson [00:18:48]: in the trash. Well, it's funny you say that because I was a club kid back in the day. Tiff [00:18:52]: And pop. I never would've Reginald Ferguson [00:18:54]: guessed that. Tiff [00:18:55]: Oh, yeah. Piece of juicy, juicy newness that I've just gotten Reginald Ferguson [00:18:59]: about you. Okay. Tiff [00:19:00]: Reade. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:01]: Hey. Yeah. I was a club Tiff [00:19:01]: head. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:02]: Okay. The tunnel, the Palladium No shit. Demerara's. Tiff [00:19:05]: I've never been to any of those places, but Always always wanted to go. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:09]: You were in Tiff [00:19:09]: I loved it. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:10]: You were in North Tiff [00:19:11]: Carolina. No. I was in New York. It was just Oh, Reginald Ferguson [00:19:13]: you were? Oh, okay. Tiff [00:19:14]: I'm working. I didn't Okay. I didn't frequent those well, When you were a kid, yeah. I was in Virginia probably. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:20]: Okay. Total old school. I was known to move my body. Anyway, when I threw my arms up in the air and waved them like they just didn't care, a swatch would fly off my wrist. Oh. Yeah. Once I got it back. Other times, I didn't. Tiff [00:19:34]: Dude, that's that's Reginald Ferguson [00:19:35]: bad. Yeah. Many people were blessed with swatches. Tiff [00:19:38]: You were just gifting them out last night. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:41]: Yeah, man. That buckle, man. Tiff [00:19:42]: That tongue. Everybody would say, let's get on the floor and dance next to that dude. He throws watches. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:46]: Oh, man. This is really annoying. Tiff [00:19:49]: Well, I I appreciate your appreciation. I'm getting it. Reginald Ferguson [00:19:55]: Okay. Well, good. Keep going. Time went on. I got a little older. Tiff [00:19:59]: You're getting me. You're you're rolling roping me in. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:01]: No. I'm hey. I'm trying to rope everyone in. I got a job, And my watch taste changed. Started getting into antiques. Tiff [00:20:11]: Oh, that's not bad. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:12]: But I never gave up wearing a swatch per se, And I still had the irony, but on the weekend, I'd rock a Timex, Indiglo, with a NATO strap. Tiff [00:20:24]: No. That was digital. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:25]: No. No. No. Indi blow. The analog joint. Yeah. Yeah. Tiff [00:20:29]: Yeah. Alright. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:29]: Alright. A very fashionable item, gentlemen. Giving you a free fashion tip. Tiff [00:20:33]: There we go. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:34]: Those NATO straps, man. Colorful straps. Just every day, you have a different Tiff [00:20:39]: I was gonna ask. Those are changeable. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:40]: Yeah. I remember they were changeable, different Tiff [00:20:42]: use the same watch face, but you could change her Yeah. It's kinda like a woman having a purse, and she could change her handles. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:48]: Oh, there Tiff [00:20:48]: you go. Out there. Reginald Ferguson [00:20:51]: Then 2013 came. For some reason, I was checking out their website. My office actually is near 2 Swatch stores, And I found it, Tiff. Oh. My old swatch. Tiff [00:21:03]: The one you flung you flung off on the dance floor? Reginald Ferguson [00:21:08]: I don't know if I flung this one or whatever happened. I I left it. I don't know. But, yes, potentially. But it's just like I remembered it. But this one had gold accents. I mean, the clear Tiff [00:21:19]: joint. Okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:21:20]: This one had gold accents. Why? Because it was the 30th anniversary edition. Oh. I copped it. I wear it. You can't go home again. Tiff [00:21:30]: Is it on there? Oh. Reginald Ferguson [00:21:31]: I I don't have it on today. Tiff [00:21:33]: We can't go home now? Reginald Ferguson [00:21:34]: I know. You can't go it's it's an expression. Tiff [00:21:36]: Oh, did I mess that Reginald Ferguson [00:21:37]: up? Yeah. You didn't. I try, ladies and gentlemen. I try to make this eloquent. Tiff [00:21:44]: I'm here to help you, and I just brought you down. Reginald Ferguson [00:21:47]: No. You didn't bring you. No. You didn't bring me down, But I'm so happy to have that 30th anniversary joint, and I rock it sometimes in the weekend. Tiff [00:21:53]: I would like to Reginald Ferguson [00:21:54]: see it. Yeah. Yeah. Remind Tiff [00:21:55]: me. Because I just recently celebrated, 30 years in the business. Reginald Ferguson [00:21:59]: Yeah. In 2013. Tiff [00:22:02]: Which is huge seeing where they came from. So I did a little research once you said this, of course. I'm gonna put it out there because That's Reginald Ferguson [00:22:08]: what you do. You are so do. She's our fashion sleuth, ladies and gentlemen. Tiff [00:22:12]: I sniff things out. And I they started in 1983. Mhmm. And they started Reginald Ferguson [00:22:20]: Sprout. Tiff [00:22:21]: From humble beginnings. Really? I didn't know. So what was happening, so, Swiss made watches were all the rage. They were very they're all handmade. Swiss shoes. They were intricate. Everybody wanted to have them, but then, And pop. Then the advent of the Japanese made watch, which was made, cheaper, and the Reginald Ferguson [00:22:41]: digital age. Tiff [00:22:41]: Digital. Yeah. You kinda put those Reginald Ferguson [00:22:42]: I thought you had digitals. Tiff [00:22:44]: Put those old Swiss, handmade watchmakers out of business almost. World? Right. So, the now CEO of SwissWatch, And pop. I'll find his name in a minute as I'm looking down. Last name, Hayek. Nicholas g Hayek. And pop. So he was assigned the job of dissolving 2 of the old Swiss watchmaker companies because they were just not making the sales anymore because they couldn't compete against, you know, the these these new watches that were coming in, like Impa. Tiff [00:23:16]: Seiko or citizen. Reginald Ferguson [00:23:17]: Love Seiko. My grandpa is citizen. Tiff [00:23:20]: But he he didn't he didn't want let them go down. So he reimagined the whole watchmaking thing. And he's like, no. We can we can do something different. And so what he came up with, he unveiled March 1, 1983. It, it was a swatch. It was 80% cheaper to produce because the assembly was fully automated rather than handmade. Oh. Tiff [00:23:46]: So they went into automation, the Swiss watchmakers. But they still kept the integrity of the quality of the watch, the the way it worked, that kind of thing. And that, you know, a Swiss timepiece is right on the mind. It's considered Reginald Ferguson [00:23:59]: one of the best. Tiff [00:23:59]: Sure. So and that's how Swatch was born. And His idea, the name Swatch, is it like an amalgamation of second watch? Reginald Ferguson [00:24:10]: Yeah. I have a Swiss watch on, today. Tiff [00:24:13]: And what yeah. Are Reginald Ferguson [00:24:13]: you Mundane. Tiff [00:24:15]: Mundane. Okay. Look at that. Very nice. Yeah. Very sweet. Not a swatch, but okay. That's good. Reginald Ferguson [00:24:21]: Well, it's Friday. Tiff [00:24:23]: But that's how the okay. I guess swatch is not for Friday. Reginald Ferguson [00:24:28]: No. I have a suit Tiff [00:24:29]: on. Alright. We'll go back to that in a minute, But let's just talk about the history. So the watch No. No. Continue. Comes from second watch. That's what it Get out. Tiff [00:24:38]: Because this guy, his idea Reginald Ferguson [00:24:39]: I thought it was Swiss watch? Tiff [00:24:40]: No. 2nd watch. Really? That's why it's called Swatch. Reginald Ferguson [00:24:43]: All this time, I thought it was Swiss Tiff [00:24:44]: watch. Because it was That's Reginald Ferguson [00:24:45]: what was so cool to us. They're like, oh, it's Swiss, and it's cheap. Tiff [00:24:48]: No. This dude's idea was to come up with a 2nd watch serving as a fashion accessory rather than an expensive piece of jewelry, which is what watches were prior to that. Absolutely. And pop. And they revolutionized Reginald Ferguson [00:25:02]: they were Swiss. Tiff [00:25:03]: They revolutionized the way the analog watches were made, and, they use synthetic materials. I said plastic earlier. I'm I'm sure there's a fancy Reginald Ferguson [00:25:11]: Yeah. Plastic. No. I accept Tiff [00:25:12]: that. But then what they did was, They also reduced the number of components to 91. I mean, from sorry. 251 from 91 components in the watch. But they did it without compromising the accuracy or the quality. So you were getting a fine Swiss made watch in plastic In pop. For so much cheaper than if you, you know, you got your normal Swiss watch. And so they were able to market that as you talked about earlier, and it blew up. Reginald Ferguson [00:25:44]: Amazing Tiff [00:25:44]: market. It made it more accessible to a wider market and everybody because they also wanted to touch on the or they they collaborated with artists with each line they put out. They made it very artistic, and it just blew up. It took off. Reginald Ferguson [00:25:59]: Essentially, when I was a little kid, that was my I must have it. Tiff [00:26:02]: I think it was everyone's I must have it except except for me. Yeah. 1. I had 1 because, yeah, as a kid, you gotta have what everybody else wants. But then, you know, the band was yellowing. And popping. It was Reginald Ferguson [00:26:15]: Yeah. That would happen if if you had a clear Tiff [00:26:16]: joint. And I had a I I like a big face. I'm a man's Reginald Ferguson [00:26:20]: watch watch. Got a pop swatch. Tiff [00:26:21]: I'm a man's watch wearer. Reginald Ferguson [00:26:23]: I should've got a men's watch. Tiff [00:26:24]: I wanna wear a men's watch because Reginald Ferguson [00:26:25]: I'm a big face. Tiff [00:26:26]: I wanna wear a big face, and I want a leather strap. That's me. And so I like my swatch, and I used it, and it broke, you know, because I wore it and everything. But then after that, I went straight to men's watches with leather bands. But, in reading about Swatch, it's incredible their story, how they came from the brink of bankruptcy, and they turned it into a worldwide brand that not only just does watches, it does It does eyewear. It they collaborate with all kinds of artists now. Reginald Ferguson [00:26:53]: They But they know Tiff [00:26:54]: Yeah. And they're also doing drone races. Hello? What? Something about Yeah. You go to the website, and they're talking about but, of course, when I went to the website, they have a glam line. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:05]: Oh, they know Tiff [00:27:06]: that. I'm all over that. Well, they have a Bijou line, which is jewelry. So it's everything is, like, gem encrusted, so I would be into that as well. But the glam line has feathers coming out from around the face of the watch. What? Yeah. You've got white glam. You've got black glam. Tiff [00:27:21]: You've got, another one that's got rhinestones. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:24]: David Bowie. Tiff [00:27:25]: It's beautiful. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:26]: George Tiff [00:27:26]: Clinton. It's cool. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:27]: I'm right. Rick James. Right? More Tiff [00:27:29]: appropriate. Rick James. Yeah. So they have Reginald Ferguson [00:27:32]: not Blackness. Tiff [00:27:34]: And pop. They haven't just they don't just make watches. They've created a huge huge, company that does look at the fingers in a lot of different pots. They'll they'll be around for a long Reginald Ferguson [00:27:45]: time. I could easily go to the website right now If I had no willpower, then buy and buy us another swatch. Tiff [00:27:53]: Another one or several? Reginald Ferguson [00:27:55]: Oh, definitely several. Tiff [00:27:56]: I saw 2 I wanted. Reginald Ferguson [00:27:57]: But I I mean, I have to. I have my anniversary clear joint, and I have a irony. Tiff [00:28:02]: So I will be buying a Swatch watch. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:04]: Oh, can't Tiff [00:28:06]: wait. I'll rock it the next time we see each other. Alright. Let's move on. Okay. One would think that the Swatch Watch is a I must have it item. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:14]: It was when I was a little kid. Tiff [00:28:15]: But but it was a it turned into a fashion hero item for our our our episode today. So let's move on and talk about, our I must have it. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:30]: Impella. I must have it. Tiff [00:28:37]: And I'm so excited. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:41]: Okay. Well, I really have wanted this Since probably childhood. Tiff [00:28:47]: I can't see you as a little kid rocking this book. Reginald Ferguson [00:28:49]: Oh, absolutely. And the reason why is because my late grandfather Was one of my major influences. Tiff [00:28:57]: So, Reg, what is the I must have it item? Reginald Ferguson [00:29:01]: A smoking jacket. Tiff [00:29:03]: Not just a smoking jacket. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:05]: A silk smoking jacket. Tiff [00:29:07]: Did you hear that, ladies Reginald Ferguson [00:29:07]: and gentlemen? Well, you can't have a smoking jacket without it Tiff [00:29:09]: being silk. A silk smoking jacket. Yeah. No. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:15]: No. I don't. No. I don't. I don't Tiff [00:29:18]: need to. About that silk smoking jacket if you don't smoke. No. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:22]: I don't. Tiff [00:29:22]: Yeah. We have this every time we say silk smoking jacket. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:26]: It's an alliteration. Tiff [00:29:27]: No. It's silk smoking jacket. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:30]: Yeah. Oh, yeah. Tiff [00:29:32]: There we go. So every time we say that, you gotta do that. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:35]: Sheesh. Okay. Tiff [00:29:35]: That's gonna be sweet. Impa. I don't know if Reginald Ferguson [00:29:38]: you wanna remember Tiff [00:29:39]: this. I am so fond of silk smoking jackets. Reginald Ferguson [00:29:42]: You Tiff [00:29:42]: are? Because not because I'm a wearer, big because it it's just so stylish. I know. So laissez faire, and it's so Louis. Yes. I am the bomb, and it's so bomb. It's so it's so luxurious. And, you know Luxury. And you you look at all the Cary pants and the, the old Hollywood figures wearing it. Tiff [00:30:07]: And then there's Hugh Hefner who rocked the smoking Reginald Ferguson [00:30:11]: jacket all the time. Tiff [00:30:13]: It's just old school Cool. Fly. Reginald Ferguson [00:30:17]: Hell, Tiff [00:30:18]: yeah. That's what I like. And it's the fabrics were always lush. And the patterns. The patterns. Yes. And the closures. The closures, most of the time, were the little frog what they call frogs, which are woven like ropes of of little the teeny tiny thin tubes of fabric woven from each side, and they buttoned together. Tiff [00:30:45]: Those are called frogs. You don't see frogs on many things these days. Reginald Ferguson [00:30:54]: No. I you know what? I was not aware of said Tiff [00:30:58]: frogs Oh, Reginald Ferguson [00:30:59]: yes. On smoking jackets. Smoking jackets. Enlightened me. Tiff [00:31:02]: Well, they, they had frogs. That's that's that's what Reginald Ferguson [00:31:07]: Do you remember Frog and Toad? Do you remember that book growing Tiff [00:31:10]: up? Yes. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:12]: Yes. Ladies and gentlemen, I recently went to Strand Bookstore here in New York City, the great apple, and I bought a hardcover collection of Frog and Tiff [00:31:24]: Toad. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:25]: Wow. I did. I went back in time. I freaking love those books going on. My mom got me those books. Rest in peace, mom. And, I'm not ashamed. I'm a grown ass man. Reginald Ferguson [00:31:39]: I bought a kid's book. Tiff [00:31:41]: That's alright. That's Reginald Ferguson [00:31:41]: alright. Love frog and toad. Tiff [00:31:43]: Well, I'm not talking about that kind of frog. Oh, you know? Yeah. This this is a Reginald Ferguson [00:31:48]: fashion frog. Oh. Tiff [00:31:48]: It's, Reginald Ferguson [00:31:49]: They were fashionable. They had little outfits. Tiff [00:31:52]: That that frog absolutely was That's Reginald Ferguson [00:31:55]: right. Wearing tweed. And didn't he Tiff [00:31:56]: have a nice car or something like that? Reginald Ferguson [00:31:58]: I don't remember that. Tiff [00:31:59]: Yeah. Something like that. Well, anyway, let's get back to the smoking jacket. So interestingly enough, the smoking jacket In pop. It's it's it's not like a common thing today. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:11]: Well, I'm not Tiff [00:32:12]: common. So that's why I wanna say, why is it your must Have item for the everyday man. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:17]: I think again because, to reiterate, my late grandfather had one. He was he was a major influence on me satorily. And a lot of things for him, if they make a if they make an impact, They make an impact. So I told you I wore a fedora growing up because my grandpa wore a fedora. So I just always wanted 1. Never shared it with anyone. I guess I felt and still to this day, it's somewhat unattainable. I mean, clearly, yes, guys and ladies, I can go shopping. Reginald Ferguson [00:32:57]: But, Yeah. I think I'd like to I think I'd like to just saunter to my door if someone knocks on it. And I have on my Beautiful Brooks Brother, candy striped pajamas. Aw. And I have my smoking jacket In pop in my leather slippers. Tiff [00:33:15]: Even though you don't smoke. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:17]: No. And my late grandfather, when I was growing up, did smoke. He smoked cigars, and he smoked pipes. Tiff [00:33:23]: So now we're getting to the purpose of the smoking jacket. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:26]: Well, break it down. Tiff [00:33:28]: Alright. So this smoking jacket did have a purpose. I mean, it wasn't just something that somebody just called a smoking jacket. It was literally back in the day, And pop. A jacket that, that men would wear when they would move into the den, what we call a den or or man cave area, where the men Reginald Ferguson [00:33:49]: And pop. The men would separate from the ladies, and the Tiff [00:33:49]: men would go and smoke their cigars or their pipe tobacco. Reginald Ferguson [00:33:52]: That's my grandpa. Tiff [00:33:53]: And they would don these jackets to to protect the clothing that they're wearing underneath. They protect it from the ash falling off of their cigars, or and the smell of the smoke. So then when they would leave, they would just take off the smoking jacket, and they wouldn't smell like tobacco. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:11]: Grandpa knew what he was doing. Tiff [00:34:12]: Yep. And it came from it started as a long robe, actually. And it sort of morphed into a mid thigh length jacket. And the robe would tie around like a robe. There's a name, a fancy name for it. It was called the, And pop. I don't have it. Reginald Ferguson [00:34:34]: The excuse me. I'm actually in the Tiff [00:34:35]: full circle. The something de chambreux. The robe of the chamber robe. Alright. And pop. Oh, there is. And it was a dressing gown. God bless you. Tiff [00:34:48]: Velvet velvet cashmere, plush merino or printed flannel, lined with bright colors, ornamented Reginald Ferguson [00:34:56]: I like colors. Tiff [00:34:57]: Brandeborgs, And pop. Which are the frog fasteners, olives, or large buttons? So the ones we see today are the buttons. So you don't really see a lot of frogs in anything Reginald Ferguson [00:35:10]: today. And I see the belts. Tiff [00:35:12]: Oh, the tie belt? Some of them do still tie belt. Interesting. Because that's a throwback for when it was actually a robe. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:18]: Makes Tiff [00:35:19]: sense. So that's the purpose of the smoking jacket, and Hugh Hefner really took it to the extreme. And he he even went so far in the in the late nineties to say, I'm bringing the smoking jacket back. It needs to come back. Every man needs to have it. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:33]: Well, my man walked around in pajamas and smoking jacket every day. I can't condone that. Tiff [00:35:39]: He was a pajama man. Right? The pajama gentleman? Reginald Ferguson [00:35:41]: Uh-uh. Amongst many things. Yes. Tiff [00:35:44]: And pop. Yeah. Actually, in in circles today, in formal circles, you can get away with a smoking jacket at a formal affair. Really? Yeah. That's acceptable. Reginald Ferguson [00:35:57]: I need to cop Tiff [00:35:58]: 1. Let's get you one. I just love them because they're so ornate. I mean Reginald Ferguson [00:36:04]: They're beautiful. Tiff [00:36:05]: It's a statement. You wear a smoking jacket, you are making a Reginald Ferguson [00:36:08]: statement. Pop. Everything I wear is a statement. And gentlemen, when I say that and when you become a client, the purpose of making a statement doesn't mean You're some peacock. It just means that you're strong in your decisions. Tiff [00:36:24]: Correct. I like that. Strong in your decisions. That you show that you are on point with your style. You know who you are. You know how to express yourself, and you do it successfully. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:34]: And I'm gonna teach you To walk with Tiff [00:36:38]: confidence. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:39]: Alright, now. Tiff [00:36:41]: Let's move on, shall we? Let's put the smoking jacket into the closet. Reginald Ferguson [00:36:46]: Oh, wow. That was that was pretty smooth. Tiff [00:36:48]: Well, let's put it let's put it let's let's put it Reginald Ferguson [00:36:52]: out to air. Tiff [00:36:54]: Alright. We're gonna move on to the next segment, fashion word of the day. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:03]: Fashion word of the day. Tiff [00:37:09]: Yes. Oh, you're excited about this, Reginald Ferguson [00:37:11]: because I wanna see if I win or lose. Tiff [00:37:16]: Let me see. Which Impop. Paige, should I choose Reginald Ferguson [00:37:18]: Oh, you know what? It's fashion word of the day, not fashion words. Well I pick 1 word. Tiff [00:37:24]: I'd like to choose. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:25]: This is ridiculous, ladies and gentlemen. I don't understand this, Tiff. Tiff [00:37:29]: I'm super prepared. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:30]: Yeah. Tiff [00:37:30]: Okay. I don't wanna be stumped. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:32]: Yeah. Tiff [00:37:32]: Alright. And sometimes I feel the need to change up my Reginald Ferguson [00:37:36]: word. It is a woman's prerogative. Tiff [00:37:39]: Thank you. Alright. Impop. Should I go 1st or you wanna go 1st? Reginald Ferguson [00:37:42]: Ladies Tiff [00:37:42]: first. Thank you very much. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:44]: You're Tiff [00:37:45]: welcome. So my word of the day. Yes? Salvage. Reginald Ferguson [00:37:50]: Salvage. Tiff [00:37:51]: Can you spell it? Reginald Ferguson [00:37:54]: We, s e l v e d g e. Tiff [00:38:00]: That is correct, my man. Well done. Well done. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:06]: Thank you, madame. Tiff [00:38:07]: Can you explain to the everyday man, what is a Reginald Ferguson [00:38:11]: salvage? Certainly, it is the fully fused section of cotton on denim Tiff [00:38:21]: jeans. Yes. And That's all I got. Okay. So that's not a wrong answer. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:28]: I know Tiff [00:38:28]: it's not. Because most of the time, people refer to selvedge as denim. There's a selvedge on every bolt of fabric made. And the purpose of the selvedge and you're right. It's fused. That's interesting you use the word fuse. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:41]: I try. Tiff [00:38:42]: Normally vocabulary. Normally, fuse means you're using an adhesive to to to to attach one thing to another. Reginald Ferguson [00:38:50]: Right. But not in this instance. Tiff [00:38:51]: Yes. Not in Reginald Ferguson [00:38:51]: this instance. It's Tiff [00:38:52]: organic. It's a weave. Right. We're going back to the Reginald Ferguson [00:38:57]: Cone denim in NC that the n wire knew. Tiff [00:39:02]: Yeah. There's a new thing called selvedge denim, which, Reginald Ferguson [00:39:05]: It's not a new Tiff [00:39:06]: thing. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:07]: Wow. It's an old Tiff [00:39:08]: thing. It's a old thing. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:09]: But now over the past 10 Tiff [00:39:12]: years It's become the thing. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:14]: Yeah. I think that's kinda even fading out, but it's Tiff [00:39:16]: it it there it's definitely of the puffs? Reginald Ferguson [00:39:19]: Well, I mean, that's a representation, which I feel is ostentatious. Because men Can I break it down to you? You're grown. Right? Right. Don't you know your in scene? Why are you rocking cuffs? Tiff [00:39:30]: I think it's stylish. I rock cuffs sometimes. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:34]: Last time I rock cuffs, ladies and gentlemen, on my dungarees is when my grandparents bought me Sears tough skins. Tiff [00:39:42]: Impa. Oh my god. I remember those. Reginald Ferguson [00:39:44]: That's right. You know why? Because I was a growing boy. And you know what happened? When we mess with the cuff, there'd be a line. Tiff [00:39:50]: Oh, Reginald Ferguson [00:39:51]: yeah. See, but I'm grown now. I know my inseam. It's 34. I'm 62. Okay. I'm all legs. Tiff [00:39:58]: So the last thing you want well, you could do a cuff in the Reginald Ferguson [00:40:02]: summer. I'm not cuffing a pair of dungarees. Tiff [00:40:05]: Alright now. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:06]: Most people don't even think I possess a pair of dungarees. Tiff [00:40:09]: I have not seen Reginald Ferguson [00:40:09]: them. But if I did, I would not have a cuff. Come on, guys. They look like Buccaneers. I'm like, just Tiff [00:40:18]: stop. There is a fashion trend now, a hipster fashion trend, and they like to roll their cuffs. And in doing so, you expose the selvedge edge I know. Of the fabric. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:27]: So I have a pair of selvedge dungarees from Levi's. And you know what, guys? Tiff [00:40:32]: That red stripe along Reginald Ferguson [00:40:33]: the top. Guys? Well, first of all, it's gray selvedge denim. Tiff [00:40:36]: Oh, okay. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:37]: And you know what, guys? I'm not cuffing it. I know what I have. I don't have to show it off. Tiff [00:40:44]: Impa. Oh, well, there we go. Reginald Ferguson [00:40:45]: Like some Tiff [00:40:46]: Peacocking it as you say. Yeah. So you're saying the Reginald Ferguson [00:40:49]: role of peacocking That's the casual yes. That's the casual slick Men's way of peacocking. No. It's not a suit. It's not exorbitant in in in a bespoke thing, crazy colors with a lining of feathers. You know? I don't know. But my point is, that's wack, yo. That's all I'm saying. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:11]: You know your inseam. Tiff [00:41:13]: Let me talk well, it's the outseam that the selvedge is normally used for, and I find it interesting that selvedge denim is more expensive than regular denim. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:22]: Heck, yeah. Tiff [00:41:22]: And I don't understand this because selvedge denim is less work. So let me talk to you about building a pair of pants. Reginald Ferguson [00:41:29]: Yes, please. Tiff [00:41:30]: So you build a pair of pants. You gotta cut 4 pieces of fabric. Your front left panel, your front right panel, your back left, your back right. Just the very basics. You still you have to do your waistband. Sometimes you gotta do the cuffs so they're contrasting. Yeah. You know, you gotta do your zipper panel if it's And pop. Tiff [00:41:48]: But, basically, 4 so you're laying out 4 pea pattern pieces on this fabric, and bolts of fabric come in 2 different widths. You've got I can't remember the number. You've got a narrow width and you've got a wider width. And depending I I get it that Now, you know, now that I said that, I understand now. Selvedge jeans, they're gonna lay the outside pattern. So that's Reginald Ferguson [00:42:13]: And pop. That's that's 4 Tiff [00:42:14]: pieces of pattern because the outseam for your left front and your left back is 1 seam, but that's 2 pattern pieces. And right front and right back is also another 2 pattern pieces. And they lay them, the outseams, if they're gonna be salvaged, need to all be laid in a row. So you're wasting all the other fabric that you don't need and that with the fabric. And pop. That's why they're more expensive. I just totally answered my own question. Reginald Ferguson [00:42:40]: You are a brilliant, Tiffany. Tiff [00:42:41]: Boom. And because it'll they're definitely less work. You don't have to do any kind of overlock on that seen because they don't fray. That's the whole point of the selvedge. It's in in when they're milling the fabric, they don't want it to fray. So they they do a selvedge edge on both sides. Alright. So, Reginald Ferguson [00:42:59]: Would you like me to use it in a sentence? Tiff [00:43:02]: So Impa. Am I supposed to use it in a sentence or you? No. You use it in a sentence. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:07]: Yeah. I use it. You gave me jeez. Tiff [00:43:10]: Guinness yo is good. That's our beverage. That's our beverage for tonight. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:18]: I'm curious To acquire some Japanese salvage jeans because they really know their Tiff [00:43:27]: denim. Boom. Impop. That was well done, Reg. Thank you. Because I read about that. Yeah. What's the deal? Reginald Ferguson [00:43:32]: That'll be for another Tiff [00:43:34]: podcast. We'll do that for another podcast. Tiff [00:43:44]: I thought I was gonna get out unscathed. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:46]: Yeah. Well, here we go. Are you ready? Tiff [00:43:49]: Mhmm. Reginald Ferguson [00:43:50]: Monocle. Tiff [00:43:51]: In pop. Oh, monocle. Yes. Mhmm. A monocle. M o n o c l e. Yes. Monocle. Tiff [00:44:03]: It's a 1 lens Reginald Ferguson [00:44:05]: spectacle. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Really. Feel free to use in a sentence too. No. Right. Reginald Ferguson [00:44:16]: She she's got it down. Tiff [00:44:18]: Sir Henry What? In his haste to leave his chateau, left behind his monocle.
